Swearing And Name Calling On The Board
Gregg replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Rick, I don't need a list Just think of it this way: Don't swear! Don't even think about it. Yes, you got hit with one of the early filter/blocks rap it with a c, but that was from old/first time we did forum If you want to yell at someone, or cuss, do it in your head. Consider this a "G" rated forum. Just keep it super clean. There is no need to cuss, swear, or even attempt to with the *&^%. This as plain and simple as it can get. Don't even say you're pissed at someone. A better way would be: "I am upset at what happened." Does this make sense? Is my point being made? I know I am guilty of a major outburst a few months ago, and that shows that I am human, but also it shows that even though we have instant gratification with the Internet and our computers nowadays, we should all stop and read what you have typed before you press the "Add Reply" button. I should make it a default that the post will have to go through "Preview Post", but I don't know if that is an option. Okay, now I pau, I am going to close and pin this thread. Keep it clean, sanitary, and we all will enjoy our model building days better. -

No, that will result in a double ban Think of it this way: If you even think about swearing here, you will pay the price. NOW GET BACK TO BUILDING SOME MODELS!!!! -
Even if you try to use %*&% or whatever in place of letters in words that are swear words, you will have the complete topic or post deleted. Do it twice, and you will be banned. Calling someone else names or calling them out to beef, will result in permanent deletion of your account, and a ban on your IP. Yes, I can track each and every one of the IP's for each account One great new feature of the forum upgrades. I'm getting sick and tired of all the swearing and fighting. Play by the rules, or go start your own forum/board somewhere else. Okay, I pau...

I am curious about using the enamel thinner/reducer I have always used lacquer thinner. I will have to try this.

Now, if we could that again with some super high res photos, completely in focus, add the impeller portion, it would go in the mag!!!! Great job.

Guys, I appreciate your banter here. But, as you can see, I have deleted the inappropriate pictures/photos here. Please don't leave all such photos/images on your hard drive, and do not share them here. Thanks -
I'm surprised about the customer support They have been incredible in my book, so far. But, it could be just me though I love the trigger action one I have. I use it for all my basic airbrushing, because it's so easy to use, and lays down so nice I do wish I got the bigger tip/nozzle. The smaller one, with the built in cup, is perfect for all my Alclad work. I didn't get a chance to get the compressor, but it looks like it would be great to have.

NNL West, Santa Clara Convention Center. NEW DAY, SUNDAY! http://www.nnlwest.org

Next ones will have online ordering. I do that for my T-Shirts, but honestly, I have only sold two that way.
-
I think we sold 92 calendars With sales like that, all I can say is OUCH! I may do a limited run, available from me, but it don't look like that will happen.

Jody (Smart-Resin), I found why you can't reply to old PMs. Bob Black and I found this out by happenstance. If the person on the other end has deleted their end of the message, you will get that red x and not be able to reply to it. It's now called "conversations" and it does make sense, sort of.

I will never charge for my sites If someone wants to donate, that's fine, but that's an inside joke It ain't about the money It's about the hobby. Now, if only that software company would process my order, I could get the new chat room(s) going. Thanks, Mark!

Just Want To Say Hello
Gregg replied to trogdor's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welcome, Rick! There is a lot of cool people here, you will enjoy the hours you will spend here everyday. -
Bob had asked me to delete his account since I was asleep at the wheel, and didn't see his requests to change his profile/display name. Well, I checked on some features of the new forum software, and it turns out I can actually merge one account into another. What a cool trick! So, if you have two accounts, and want them merged into one, it can be done. But, like with Bob's request, you'll probably have to wait two years for the lazy bum in Hawaii to get off his okole and actually do the work he is supposed to do. There is a not of neat new stuff with the software I am still finding out about. Thanks, Bob!!!!

I ordered new chat room software, have to wait for purchase/install It should be great Be able to add rooms, private chats/PM's, and video in the future. If anyone wants to contribute to the MCM online fund, donations are greatly appreciated. This is getting to be quite the undertaking. thank goodness for write offs!!!

Dave, from my conversations with Alan who "reinvented" Alclad back in 2001 or so, Alclad 2 is a lacquer-based paint. That is how the effect of chrome is created. It's the reaction of the lacquer "chrome" with the base gloss black that creates the chrome finish. Usually an enamel worked best before, but with the "new" Tamiya aerosal paints that came out, they worked quite well also. You can also create your own Alclad. This comes from dear friend, Mark Guerrero. Just use Testor's Silver Chrome, thin it with lacquer thinner (hardware store kind), and spray over gloss enamel. This is what he uses, and you'd swear it was chrome or even Alclad. Tony has a web site: http://www.alclad2.com
