The new black '32 Ford Five-Window t-shirts will be available for the first time ever this Sunday at the NNL West in Santa Clara, California. They will set you back $15 per shirt. Get them at the show and you save the $3 shipping and handling charge. Plus, you get a free smile to go with them! Thanks, Jairus, for the great art work for the shirts, and pulling off the printing for them. I owe you! I will also be taking orders for the new varsity-style jackets I will be wearing. I will have a few of the X-Large '49 Merc T-Shirts by Harry at the show also. These will be the last of the Merc shirts, so get them while you can. I have three of the 3XXX shirts that I can bring, if anyone would like to get them at the NNL West. See you guys this weekend!

February 15, 2010 South Bend, Indiana FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Round 2 and MPC help bring Chuck Miller's Fire Truck to Detroit Autorama Chuck Miller, famous for his custom car creations built under the historic Styline Custom name, is being recognized as "Builder of the Year" for his accomplishments in the industry at this year's Autorama Custom Car Show in Detroit, Michigan. While several of Chuck's cars will be on display at the show, his signature creation, the Ridler Award winning Fire Truck, designed with the help of AMT's John Bogosian and built by Chuck at Syline in 1968, has not been in Chuck's possession since 1986. It was not in the plans to have the Fire Truck at the show, unless Chuck could track down the vehicle's current owner. Chuck did locate the Fire Truck in Florida and the current owner graciously offered to loan the vehicle back to him for display in Detroit. As with all things in the still struggling economy, the show organizers' budget for bringing more cars to the show was spent. No funds were available to cover the cost of transporting the Fire Truck from Florida to Michigan. MPC to the rescue! Now, MPC and Chuck Miller himself are teaming up to bring the beautiful Fire Truck to Detroit where it will fittingly be on display in Chuck's Builder of the Year Autorama showcase. MPC will have a display at Chuck's booth, making available the hot 1/25 scale model kit re-release of the Fire Truck to show goers. Model kits of the MPC Zingers, several of which were built by Chuck for Promotions Inc. will also be available at the show. "We are very excited and proud to be a part of this historic event" said MPC's John Greczula. "The Fire Truck is Chuck Miller's most well known vehicle and a Ridler Award winner. We really wanted to help bring this wild rod to the show for everyone to see again. MPC has worked quickly to ensure the Fire Truck model kit could be reissued to coincide with the Autorama show. The kit has had many parts restored to their original configuration and some parts completely retooled. There's an all new decal sheet and two window color options, clear, or smoke grey to match the 1:1 Fire Truck's monocle windshield. The kit also includes a pair of the newly tooled vintage-style "pie crust" drag slicks with pad printed lettering, These match more closely the tires that are on the vehicle and have been incredibly well received by modelers." The Autorama will be held February 26th through the 28th, at Cobo Hall, Detroit Michigan. Round 2 currently produces model kits under the well known AMT, MPC and Polar Lights brands, and electric slot racers, race sets and American Muscle die cast cars under the Auto World brand. I hate to promote something as if I'm sounding like I'm biased, but I love the new GREX systems. They have great customer service, the airbrushes have worked flawlessly for me, and they are cool Kawasaki Green! GREX Kit

Guys, there is one thing I want to bring up, and it has been an issue and problem before. We do pay a per-page rate after publication, which is a lot higher than any other magazine out here based on CPM, but, and yes, this is the big butt, if it's a "look at me" piece, or a piece that was not requested beforehand, it is considered to have been sent in "gratuitously". We want to feature 'how-to's" where our readers will learn new tips, tricks, and techniques, not just a showcase or profile of someone's build. If this is a problem, then please discuss this with me personally before submitting or considering your article for submission. Thanks.

Harry, and yes, Jairus, it's all your fault. I turned in my baby, the gorgeous blue and white FJ Cruiser for a 2010 Mustang GT Convertible today. I was at the local hobby shop in Kailua, Wellers, dropping some cash, and I heard this strange voice calling me. Ironically, I had gone to the local Chevy dealership to slip into the new Camaro, and was so turned off by the people there, and their $9,995 dealer markup, I walked away. Anyway, that new gorgeous Mustang on the lot of McKenna's Windward VW was calling me, but that is not the car I was hearing. Strolled into the showroom, and there she was: black on black on black, 2010 GT Convertible, smiling at me, whispering my name, promising me low monthly payments, and getting rid of the evil 18.8% interest rate on my blue and white baby. Oh well, I succumbed... Here she is, sorry for the bad pic.

GREGG - the December issue,,,,,,,,,,
Gregg replied to Lyle Willits's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good thing we can't swear on the forum anymore. So Bill me..... I know, I'm so bad with names I knew that Mr. Borgen, I was working on something and Mr. Stillwagon was on my mind. Now don't any of you get any ideas. I was working on custom Merc, and I thought to myself, "Self, what would Mr. Stillwagon do?" And at that time, I was doing the captions for the Chicago show. That, and those Oxy's were just kickin' in..... Sorry Mr. Bills, at least I got the first name right, yes? -
Pat who?

Thanks, Pat
