  1. I was wondering if the prepainted kit was much different from the regular kit. I didn't think it would be, but ya never know until ya open it up. As I was looking at this kit I noticed it had some other cool lookin parts that could be used on this build or another build.
  2. I placed a bid on Evilbay. Has 1 day left. Let you guys know whether I get it or bid on another one there.
  3. OMG!!!! THIS IS THE FRAME I WANT TO DUPLICATE!!!!! I have got the pics of your build saved to my PC!! Now all I have to do is either go buy the kit or find someone who has the frame to get rid of......... anyone out there with this frame to get rid of?? I doubt it. I wouldn't seperate from that frame.
  4. Thanks guys. I'll probably take a good look at the frame from RMCoM. I really want to make a custom tube cross member for a sportier look, but can't think of the proper way to go and still use the kit supplied parts.
  5. Any other good sources for a good frame?? Any good ideas on a scratched custom frame as well??
  6. I'm doing some research on R&D Unique's frame kit to decide whether or not to buy one and I need some good pics and some info on whether or not its worth buying....... Thanks Guys.
  7. ON my way right now.
  8. I use index cards like crazy! Yes, I want it to line up with the cowl. I have saved close to 200 reference pics on my PC and there are so many different ways of doing it that its hard to pick whats best for my application. I don't wanna section anything, I just wanna channel and chop. I'm not quite confident enough to section yet. I'd like to keep the stock configuration of the grill, shell, and radiator if at all possible. I don't know if I'm gonna Z the frame either. And if I did, I couldn't do any of that until I find the tire wheel combination I need. I didn't realize there was gonna be so many different variables when I started cutting and sectioning stuff. I can see it in my head, just can't get it into 3D form. For the new floor, after I cut the old one out and drop the new one in between the frame rails, how do I go about the rear stabilizer bar mounts? Or is that just thee dumbest way to go?? Maybe I'm just not ready for this build...... I just wish I could build like many of the pros here.
  9. I've kinda put it to the side for a little while. I've gotten into the 32 Military themed Sedan pretty hard. Military....... CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!!
  10. Hey guys, I have a few more questions. 1. I'm having troubles picturing how to place the radiator and grill shell after I channel the body. I want it to sit level with the body, but I just can't think of how to go about moving and mounting it without doing some chopping. 2. I wanna make a custom floor pan and I need some references or ideas on how to go about doing so, and, if anyone has done one, what was the best way of doing it? I know some of this stuff may come second nature to most of you guys, but I have to think and make sure its the right way before I start cutting away.
  11. I TOLD YA!
  12. Here is something that IS definately inspiring! They might look familiar Chuck........... I felt very inspired by the craftsmanship and flow of the Dodge especially! Who else agrees with me????
  13. 4 BETTER things to remember. 1. They are iconic for the first SUV. 2. They're worth the $$$$$$. 3. They also are very appealing to the offroad scene. AND #4. Chances are, if its a trail rig, the panels don't need replaced and more than likely, It doesn't have much of the original International drive train left to replace. I'd still buy one if I ever have the chance (read $$$$).
  14. Thanks for all the nice compliments guys. I really mean that too! Especially coming from masters as yourselves! Chuck and Marcos, I have many of your guys' builds saved to my PC for inspiration when I get discouraged, so compliments from you 2 gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.......
  15. I tried to find a 4Wheel Drive torqueflight before I got to cuttin on the original scout tranny, but I got impatient. I would have HAD to have a differant transfer case if I had gone that route.
  16. I have this bookmarked. I ran across it a couple days ago when I was scowering the forum for tips. That was the only thing I found. I am sure there are a few other guys that need answers to the quetions I have as well. I can't be the only one here that hasn't chopped a 32 Ford up. If anyone else has any questions about this subject that I haven't asked yet, Please ask it here. I am sure there are a number of things I haven't thought of yet.
  17. I have plenty of 1/8" tape. Stacking discs together is quite a nifty little tip. I was wondering if there is a certain place to cut the Revell kit to avoid adding any filler panels. I won't be setioning this one so I won't have to worry about that yet. I will be Z'ing the frame, just don't know how much yet. As for the interior, I am going to do away with the panels that came with the kit. I have seen others builds where they have made panels that replicate the the look of the interior door skins. I have also seen other builders cut the floor out completely and only replace material where the seats are attatched to the floor. That is something I was thinking about as well. Thank you very much for the tips.
  18. I have pics of this build saved to my pc for reference. Very SWEEEET build!!! I had thought of hacking away at the floor and firewall much the same way you have mentioned, just didn't know if it was the way to go or not. I am wanting to replace the floor panels with something a little more detailed anyway. This might be the way I wanna go. I won't be sectioning it though. Not that confident yet. Thanks for the VERY HELPFUL info.
  19. No one has built this? Not one person? Or does no one like to help a fellow modeler anymore?
  20. Hey guys, I know that alot of guys here have built the Revell 32 Ford Sedan and I'm seeking wisdom from the masters. First, I need some kit specific tips of the easiest and cleanest way to go about chopping the top, and if I will need to add any material to the roof or pillar adjustments, and channeling the body== really need some good advice here on how to get around opening the doors and the frame issue. If anyone has any good tips on lowering the front end that could be very helpful as well.
  21. 727?!?!?!?!?!?!? They DO have an awful lot of room in that engine compartment!! I'll have to dig through my parts compartment to see if I have an extra tranny pan from my charger kit. This 440 came from my Special Edition 68 Charger kit. It has the 440 or the HEMI option and I'm gonna run the HEMI in the Charger when I get to it. I had a good friend in high school that had a Scout and this is the way I would want mine if I ever get one. Don't see too many of them around here anymore. This is kind of a pre-replica from the design in my head. I have always liked the look of military pick-ups and always loved it when guys made their rigs look like its military. It has something to do with function over design. Then the design of funtion over design is a design all its own. Does anyone get what I mean?? I have always been more inspired with the mechanical side of things than the design side. Anyways, Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Oh! I almost forgot. The seat height is actually measured from the original seat from the kit. They have to run that high because of the tunnel. Plus, they came with bench seats, so they had to run high. I asked some guys from an International Scout forum in Australia. My first seat frame was a little lower than this one and it looked goofy because of all the head room above the seat plus it would have set so low you wouldn't be able to see over the dash.
  22. Dam%! Sorry guys, coulda swore I remembered it takin off down a drag strip....... Oh well. Its still bada$$! Did you see that plume of smake from the turbine???? Almost equivelant to a 1:1!!
  23. I found this on youtube last year and forgot I had it in my favorites until now. THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST BADA$$ THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! PT.1--> PT.2--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92lpSQT1ZRY PT.3--> PT.4--> ENJOY!
  24. Its a Power Wheels jeep that will actually crawl through mud and run ATV trails!!!!! I know what I'm doing to the boys' Power Wheels now!!!
  25. WELL, I'm glad someone can see the purpose of this tip.
