Here's some detail pics of some of the components..... Here you can see the pin I dipped in clear red until I got the teardrop shape I wanted.
-
Like I said, this is the first one with any kind of serious thought or work into it. I made the exhaust from 1/8in. aluminum rod and solder, cut the tips from aluminum tube, mufflers are Detail Master that I cut the outlets and inlets off of because they were offset and to accomodate the larger pipes. The wheels depicted here are for reference only. I am planning on using the 19" and 23" Pegasus Chrome T's when I have the finances to order them. Its gonna be 2-tone red on top, black on bottom. I also made the front valance one peice with the body. I always thought that was an ugly side of this model, so I fixed it. Shaved the door handles and side marker lights. Cut away the grill and added some mesh I found at Hobby Lobby. Added detail wire to the door panels and seats. Seats are from a dicast my boys had torn apart. Thats also a good resource for parts. I debated on whether or not to even put the side mirrors on, so I moved them forward. Removed all details from the hood. Theres not much more to it. If ya have any questions, ya know where to ask. Thanks for lookin and all comments are welcome. As long as they're nice.

I beleive that opening up a grill is one of the best things you can do. Just seems that that is the first thing that makes it look custom.... Heres how I've done my Challenger..... -
I found a bathroom fan at Menard's for $13 at 50 CFM, but don't know if thats enough. Using a big cardboard box for the booth itself, about the size of a vacuum cleaner. The next one up is $23 at 70 CFM. Will 50 CFM do?

I bet if the owner of the actual car saw your version he would beg and plea to buy that from you!!

That almost looks spot on!!

That is just AWESOME!!! I have this kit too and I've been wondering what to do with it. I ran across this pic and LOVE the color, but I don't know what would come close to it. Can anyone help??

THAT IS SWEEEETTT!!! I WANT ONE!
-
MAKE ONE FOR ME WHILE YOUR AT IT!!!!!! I was just gettin ready to ask you where you were gonna get the 572 at and order one. I've gotta see this!!! If it turns out as awesome as I think it will, are you planning on making a few more to sell???
-
SEAL??? I didn't see one in the valve.... Is yours like this one?? Im gonna take it back apart and see whats going on.
-
Carb cleaner huh??? Sounds good..... Must try. I need to go get some regular thinner and lacquer thinner sometime today. Thats really all I need to get goin.. And I don't think my home-made regulator is gonna work. I didn't wanna fork out the $20 for a descent one, so I built this. Its got one of thoese cheap ball valves, and then a tee with the pressure gauge. The problem is the air is leaking past the ball valve and building pressure in the line. So when I first pull the trigger it sprays at a real high PSI. I just need to break down and buy an actual regulator.

IM JEALOUS!!!!! The only thing I have within 45 miles is Hobby Lobby... It SUCKS living out here in Indiana!!! They think we don't love cars as much as, say, California and so on!! ITS NOT ALL CORN IN INDIANA DA*% IT!!!!! I checked my local Napa and they don't carry it either!!!! My next move I will make sure there are plenty of hobby shops and automotive stores within 5 to 10 miles of my home!!!!

I didn't think about looking on those sites until someone posted Summit racing. Thanks Bill.... NOW THAT IS A GREAT IDEA!!!! DOING......THAT......RIGHT......NOW.

I'm using a badger 350. I don't have the long needle to worry about. Do you use lacquer thinner even if you run enamels through it?? The link I'm thinking of, the guy put a pic of how he made his airbrush cleaner. Its one of those airbrush cleaning stations. Thanks Gary!!!

I know that somewhere I ran into a post where someone had made a container to spray the gun out into. I've looked everywhere for it and can't find it so I'm hoping someone could remind me where it was and also give tips on cleaning methods.
-
Now that is a good post!!! THANKS MIKE!!! I have bought from them before, just never thought to look if they had Evercoat.....
-
Been up and down and through and through their site and they don't sell direct. If there is a spot to buy, post that instead.
