  2. SWWWEEEEEET!!! MIKEY LIKEY!! Very nice and clean. Love how the motor is about to burst out of the engine comparment.
  3. GREAT!! I have some of that already I think!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!
  4. Thanks guys!! Thats some great ideas!! Now I just need to go buy some more paint. Which is good. Just gives me an excuse to go to my favorite place, the hobby store!!! I want it to be subtle. Thanks guys!! Still trying to catch up to you guys! I am working on a '70 Dodge challenger and trying to make it look REALLY good for you guys. I have never put this much effort into building. I thought I was pretty good at building until I found this site and saw the awesome stuff you guys do!! I have pics on my photobucket. I need to update it though. I still need to finish some small details so I can use Future for the very first time. Hope it turns out good! Thanks again guys, ABE http://s133.photobucket.com/albums/q59/abe...y/MODEL%20PICS/
  5. Im looking for some advice on painting the headlights to look like the super white lights which really look like a really clear blue. If anyone knows of a paint effect that can repliclate this, let me (and everyone else) know. Thanks ABE DOOLEY
  6. Its realy nice having a nurse as your ol' lady too.. I have her bring me Alpha swabs when she can and all kinds of tweezers and picks and the list goes on and on and on!! My favorite household goodies have to be toothpicks and Q-Tips- Can be used for detalied painting, applying very small amonuts of glue, small amounts of thinner for the Whoopsies!, and probably a million other things I cant think of right off the top of my head at 4 in the morning!!
  7. YOU GUYS ARE F'IN GENUISES!!! I thought I was gonna have to pay $5 plus s&h for those stereo faces!! I went to crutchfield and saved about 40 faces, took the one I wanted to Corel photoshop and downed it to 0.85x0.29 and it fits in my challenger dash PERFECTLY!! Now I just have to print it on my decal paper and you guys saved me $10 or more!! Not to mention I'm gonna try it on some more dashes tomorrow! Granted I can only do one face at a time because I'm cheap and am still using my sample program that came with my pc, but really, who needs 40 cd players at once!!!! I find more and more stuff to be amazed by everyday from you guys!!!! KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK! THANKS, ABE
  8. 10 YEARS???!!!!?!?!?!?!?!? HOLY SH$$$$$$ttt!!! I just cant fathom doing one model for that long. I;m sure theres been quite a few in between, but thats still crazy!! I cant wait to see that. Wait this is an old forum isnt it?? well if you see this- I wanna see pics or maybr I'll just look for it now. That concepet charger totally does the original right!! I love it when you guys go all out on your models, especially when it has to be made from practically scratch!!!! I'll be lookin for the rest of your models now!!
  9. WOW!!!!! Thats about all I can say. What else could be said? WOW! I love mopar, and you just blew my mind with that BEAUTIFUL paint job!!! How long did it take to from start to finish?
  10. YES!! Thats why I love this site!! I would have never thought about that on my own.. THAAAAANK YOU!!
  11. Like a DO-IT-YOUrSELF kinda shop?? I had the same idea for metal fabrication a few years back. If I had the money thats what I'd be doin.. Too bad for me... I'm clear over in Indiana. Great idea though..
  12. Yes the internet is a great store, but I still like to really hold and look at the object and not pay for shipping. Sure there are plenty of sites with HUGE discounts, but what you pay for shipping usually goes over what it would cost in a hobby store, unless you buy several items at once. Still, I usually can only afford to buy a few things at a time.. Has anyone else noticed that the Revell site has raised their prices on their models by like3 in the last 2 weeks??? Does anyone know why?? Do they have free shipping or something? THANKS FOR THE SO-CAL CAR CULTURE LINK!! That site really is organized. Lots of VERY good sites too..
  13. DAM!! I was just gettin used to seeing cool sh17... I am mind blown once again!!! I would love to see that in person.. are there any shows near indianapolis, Indiana?? I'm about 45 mins. south of Indy. Never been to a show before. Didnt even know there was shows until a few days ago. Now I'm dyin to go to one. I know all these pics I have seen of EVERYONES work is nothing compared to seeing it in its true glory... Someone..... FAT MAN NEEDS CPR!!!! HAHA! I've got to make it to a show. I dont care if I go broke goin now. I know it would all be worth it!!! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRING WORK EVERYBODY ABE
  14. I may not be green to building model cars, but I am EXTREMELY green to the aftermarket world!! I'm looking for stores, websites, ppl, etc. that carries anything model car related. I'm in Columbus, Indiana. If you know of any stores near me with a good selection I'd love to know! Thanks you guys, Abe
  15. WOW!! I love your work!! How did you get that paint effect? Patience and skill? I love the slick body. Did you shave the mold lines or did it come like that in the kit? What licoln kit is that? It is a licoln right? dont wanna look stupid... I was looking at your fotki and I love that '72 Road Runner and that orange Duster!! What kits are those??
  16. THAT IS SWEEEEETTTT!!!!!! I LOVE MOPAR!! YOU'VE JUST MADE MY DAY!
  17. Thanx guys.. I was also wondering if anyone has an airbrush air compressor that they think is junk and wants to get it out of their garage or living room (that would be my case, haha!) let me know. I am in need of one. I believe if I could get my hands on one I could fix it and finally have a piece of critical equipment without spending much money to get it going. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!
  18. I'm from Southern Indiana looking for model clubs to get into. Does anyone have a list or know of any clubs near Columbus, Indiana to be more exzact?
  19. I'm takin off to go to a cookout. I cant wait to get back on here. I'll be back about 8. Thanks again guys!!
  20. I just took some pics of the Challenger I'm working on. I'm not quite sure how to put in a reply yet so I put it on my photobucket page. http://s133.photobucket.com/albums/q59/abe...y/MODEL%20PICS/ I hope to get some good suggestions. I love this site.. now I just need to start saving every extra dollar and start buying some of the aftermarket parts and really increase the challenge level. I cant wait to get my Challenger done and start working on my Daytona now!! I think I'm gonna start on revell's '29 Ford truck after that. I love old school muscle and rat rods. I was kinda going for a rat rod/muscle car with the Challenger. I dont know what I'm gonna go for with the Daytona yet. I saw someone had JOE DIRT movie replica!! How awesome!! It looks like the real car. I thought that maybe it was bought like that until I got to looking real good at it. I just wish I could afford the aftermarket parts and some more kits. I just got laid off a few months ago and I'm trying to go back to school while I'm on unemployment, but that also means I have plenty of time to work on my model cars.. Oh, I think I figured it out. I'll leave the rest of them on my photobucket for now though.. YOU GUYS ROCK!! THANKS FOR ACCEPTING IN A REALLY GREAT WAY!! ABE DOOLEY
  21. Yeah.. as soon as I go get the camera from my mother-in-laws house today I'll take some pics and post them.. I used krylons textured shimmer and then I taped off the hood and I'm in the the process of putting flat red in the stripes.. I got ahead of myself when I did it though and should have put a stripe down the body line to match, but I'm learning as I'm going... I wish I wouldnt have lost the last 2 I did about 5 years ago.. I did the '70 Chevelle 3 'n 1 and the '66 Malibu SS. I was really proud of the malibu. I think it got thrown away by my woman during a move!! sob!! As soon as I go get the camera I'll post some pics!
  22. I HAD NO CLUE THERE WAS EVEN CONTESTS FOR US!! WOW!!! I must be sucluded here in Indiana.. I bought my Challenger about 2 weeks ago and I thought "surely theres some aftermarket wheels or something on the WORLD WIDE WEB"... little did I know that thats just the tip of the iceberg!!! Thats how I ran into you guys.. I think the first car I saw on here was the 32 ford truck that I've wanted to do for awhile now.. I must have looked at that guys truck for like an hour trying to wrap my head around what he had done.. I mean HE CHOPPED AND SECTIONED IT!!!! I mean I am a complete GEARHEAD and i know alot about choppin up a car and makin it your own.. It just never clicked to do that to a model!!! And then the motor was COMPLETLY decked out with plug wires, die hard battery, wire looms, A/N fittings, and I think it even had aluminum cnc'd wheels!! Then I saw the DRAG CARS!!! I dont even know where to start there!! That daytona is SWEEEEETT!! I 'm glad I hadnt started on mine before I saw yours! I wont copy yours, but I got some good ideas of what I can do now.. I love how you actually made the doors open and even put a slit for a window to roll down into!! Is that a real spring leaf?? The battery even has terminals and wires!! The upclose shot of that HEMI looks REAL! I showed that pic to my ol' lady and she thought it was a real HEMI!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! TRULY INSPIRED, ABE DOOLEY
  23. Im in the same boat as Carl.. those are some great tips!! Can anyone make a list and where to find most of the stuff you guys mentioned?? I know some of it is pretty self explanitory, I'm mostly interested in more info about the sanding and polishing parts.. I wish I could pull off the stuff you guys do!!! HOW WICKED IS THIS SITE??? I just wish I would have landed on it before I started painting my '70 Challenger!! Its alright though, I've got a '70 Dodge Daytona I'm gonna do next!!
  24. My GOOD GOD!! I thought I was doin alright until I came here!!! I had no idea you could do half the stuff I have seen you guys do!! I am mind blown! I've been building since I was about 9 or 10 and still I've only built about 6 or 7 total.. right now I'm workin on a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A (first one in about 5 years or so!) and I thought I was doin something special by taping off my own racing stripes!! I wish I would have landed on this site a long time ago!! After the challenger I've also got a 1970 Dodge Daytona. I'm a MOPAR man if ya cant tell!! Now I know what I'm gonna save up my money for now!!! I had know idea you could buy A/N fittings and spark plug wires, and cnc'd parts and I have no clue whats going on with resin parts!!! I LOVE THIS SITE!!! I have been inspired like never before!!!! I feel like a kid again!! I have so many questions and I cant think where to start! If anyone has any advice... I AM ALL EARS!!! I'd put some pics of what I'm workin on, but I think I'll wait until I start on the Daytona so I can really get down with it!!
