  2. What is"CHAMOIS"?? Can you show me a pic so I can look for it next time I go hobby shoppin??
  3. I have never cared for anything thats not AMERICAN MUSCLE, but now I wanna build something EXOTIC!! NICE LOOKIN' FERRARI CRUZ!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
  4. I love watching these build-offs. I am yet to see the end of one though. I love the ghostbusters hearse. How old is that kit??? CORPESEVETTE??? WOW!! That some inginuity there! There are tooooo many talented people in one spot!! Its overwhelming for us untalented folk... I wanna try so much of the stuff I see most of you do, I'm just afraid of trashing a model beyond repair. Can't wait to see the end of this build-off. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!!!
  5. Theres actually a road out there we call "ROLLER COASTER ROAD" and it really is like a rollercoaster. We used to take a lil' souped up Honda on those hills and see how far we could ramp it until we almost killed ourselves. It had a LARGE aftermarket sliding canopy top that went clear from the front to the backseat and we almost ramped ourselves out of the car!! Them was the days....
  6. I saw where someone has done that with the detail wiring. I think it was Bill Geary, on one of his newer Dodges. Turned out real good too.
  7. I CANT EVEN TELL YOU HOW MUCH I WANT THIS IN 1:1!!!! THAT IS JUST WICKED!!!!!
  8. Thats just too funny!!!! My biggest whoops was when I was younger and I had itch on my nose and I forgot to put the knife down before I scratched it!!!! Talk about a DUMBA$$ MISTAKE!!!! I never did that TWICE! I have caught my self once or twice though.
  9. This is what MY boys did for me on BIG DADDY'S day.. I should have taken a pic of before!!
  10. Yeah, it is kinda coarse isn't it?? Thats the only thing I didn't like about too, but I'm still learnin and was willin to put however many coats of clear as I had to. I also noticed that when I put a light coat on it wasn't NEARLY as coarse as a heavy coat. The stuff Rollin was talkin about sounded much better. Sorry I gave ya a bad tip.. I'll pay closer attention from now on. I am pretty sure I'm just gonna go with the Dupli-Color's "Metalspeck" or the color shifting from Dupli-Color too. When I do paint the body, I'm not gonna paint the stripes in Metalspeck. If it doesnt look right then I'll be upset . I've been wondering how that would look anyway, so I might as well check it out. TRIAL AND ERROR right??!! I really am sorry though. I didn't think about putting too many coats of clear on, and I honestly didnt think you could, but it makes since now that you've said something. THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW.
  11. Heres the Micro-mesh complete kit that Bluesman is talking about. Just under $20. http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?M...ct&ID=80939
  12. That makes me think of "OFFICE SPACE" when hes tryin to kill the copier.. I love that movie.
  13. I'd like to see the pics of those guys.. Thats a good idea with the leather. So someone HAS used thread before?? I figured that this being the greatest site EVER someone had AT LEAST tried it. Fray Glue huh?? Never heard of it, but if it does what it sounds like I'm sure it would work! I definately wanna see pics of that. This is the FIRST time I have ever done anything special other than the paint and I'm trying to do a few things I have learned on here. Now everything I look at, I think, "Wonder if I could use that in modeling??". I havent filled the trash cans in like 2 weeks!! The trash guys arent complaining though! I don't know how much more treasure (she thinks its junk) shes gonna let me keep..
  14. what would it cost to ship all of the model car mags?? I'm interested in ALL of the model car ones.
  15. TELL ME ABOUT IT!! People think the entirestate is nothing but flatness and corn EVERYWHERE!! Brown county is so hilly that I believe theres only 2 or 3 corn fields out there! The place is so beautiful!!! I try to go there as often as I can. We go out to Brown county State park and to the flea markets and other times we'll just go out there and get lost and drive for hours upon hours!! There are alot of RICH people hidin out in them there hills! Tony Stewart lives out in them hills too. Hes got a HUGE place and I think hes got like 300 or so acres out there too.
  16. What I'd really like to do is put some kind of material in the seats. Does anyone have any suggetions for that?? I've seen some decals for the interior, but does someone know how to put real material down or is there not any kind of material that would look right??
  17. I was worried about the fraying as well and didn't know if anyone had figured out a way to get around this. I was thinking that if I could get the glue on it like I tried with the glue stick it could possibly keep the fraying to a minimum, but I really dont want any fraying at all. I'll try that Plastruct rod. That is REALLY tiny stuff there Bill!!! Does it bend with ease?? My seats dont really lack the detail, but I thought if its FREE, I'll give it a try! I'll probably just leave them alone. I've actually been eyeballin some aftermarket racing seats as well. Anyone have a supplier they like the best on the racing seats?
  18. We have an electrical supplier here called ALL-PHASE and its been a few years since I been in there, but I remember they had all kinds of wiring. I remember they also had plenty of hard lines as well. I just figured this would be helpful to people who didnt have the money, like me, and might have this stuff just laying around like I did. Maybe even a Grainger might have it. I think the whole reason I'm so fascinated by this stuff is because I'm very new to the whole "SUPER DETAIL" scene and I've kept my eyes open for all kinds of stuff that could be useful, especially if I dont have to pay for it.
  19. I was thinking about using sewing thread for the piping on the seats and was just wondering if anyone has tried this and what kind of glue I should use. I was trying to just pull the thread through the stick of glue, but it doesnt wanna stick very well.
  20. There, are they there now??? I think I moved them to a different folder after I posted them. Whoops!
  21. WOW!!!! I.....LOVE......MO......PAR!!!!!! Those are some bada$$ MOPARS!!!!! Thanks for sharin!!
  22. Never been to Greene county either, I think.... I love Brown county in the fall especially when all the leaves are changing to bright yellows and oranges! What part of Columbus were you in?? There are some areas that are absolutely heartbreaking!! I've been all over columbus and helped alot of my friends and I think the worst was on Mapleton and Pleasant Grove. EVERYONES homes were completely under the water! I went to my Mom's before going to Kentucky yesterday and the people that live on thoses streets STILL have no where to go. The Red Cross has a shelter over there somewhere. Alot of those people were poorer and you just know they didnt have FLOOD insurance! I mean, who ever thought our lil' town was EVER gonna flood??!! I still cant believe I had NO CLUE what was going on until my woman came home from work and asked me if I had been watching the news!!
  23. Never been to Owen county. I never seen too many tourists at my house in Brown county! There are quite a few tourists in Nashville, but you only see them if you go to Nashville. There is alot of very interestin lil' shops in town, but I LOVE THEM FLEA MARKETS!!! Whereabouts is Owen county?? I think I've heard of it now that I think about it, just cant remember where..
  24. I was digging through my junk drawer AGAIN and ran across some old telephone line and I realized that it's the same gauge as DETAIL wire. I'm not sure axactly what gauge it is, but I'm sure it's as small or smaller than 26 gauge. I didn't use an actual telephone cord, but it was the line that goes to the JACK. I had two different sets of this line layin around and one of them had 4 lines and the other had 6 lines. I think the one with 6 lines is for some kinda multiple phone line deal and it had lil' white spots on the lines and came in green-white, blue-white, orange, and brown. The other line was just black, red, yellow, and green. They were wrapped in a gray line that was really easy to remove. All I did was just pull the lines out. I'm sure someones found this out, but I searched for it and didn't see it. Plus if you went to any electrical supply shop, I guarantee you will find this stuff (and a whole lot of more cool stuff) individually. So here's another tip from the "NEW" guy. This is the line that has 6 lines and you can see the different colored markings on it. I'm sure theres an easy solution to get just the spots off the lines or you could find another use for it. Heres the other line that is VERY clean and straight. I love this stuff. Heres the jacks I took them out of.
  25. Now THAT is a great idea! I'll have to try that one. I'm gonna check out some local hardware websites for all the screens and see if they carry all the same options as the model car sites.
