What if some of the paints are already about the consistency of milk? Whats a good starting point for someone who has never used an airbrush?? I'll just start spraying on an old "FOR SALE" sign 'til I git 'r' dun... Thanks for the tips GRAMPS!!! YOU ROCK!!! I wann be YOU when I grow up....

What is the ratio for airbrushing Model Master for airbrushing??? I've never used an airbrush before, even though I own 2, I dont have an air compressor and I have been meaning to buy some of the aerosol cans, but I just haven't had the time nor money. Besides, I'm waiting for my buddy who gave me all the paints to bring me his cans when he finds them... CAN'T WAIT!!!! Most of the paints are military colors, but I can still use them for little things here and there. Is there a different mixing ratio for the Testors Enamels??

What did you use to do the capillary technique? I have been thinking of using some syringes I have layin around... These are syringes they use for TB testing so the needles are VERY tiny.. I cant find any of the Model Master's Metalizers near me... I have to go about 45 mins. north to find a GOOD hobby shop. HOBBY TOWN USA... We have 2 of them in Indianapolis, but there is NOTHING close to me. The body seams look AWESOME!!!! Keep up the great work Marcus....

I tried the BB trick last night and it worked PERFECTLY!!!! It mixed the paint right up! Thanks for the tip m408! Only one of the three bottles I tried needed to be stirred and shaken...

I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU SAY "MISTAKES" BECAUSE THAT IS BADA$$ AND THOSE RIMS ARE TOTALLY WICKED!!!!!! Are thoses kit rims or aftermarket?? What did you use for the new model to get the black in between the body seams??? WICKED build AGAIN Marcus!!!! And it seems its just liquidey on top of the Rub 'N' Buff.... Should be okay. Must have sat on the shelf at Hobby Lobby for awhile..

Hey Marcus, I bought some of the Antique Gold Rub 'N' Buff and it seems to be quite THIN.... I don't know if its just whats sittin on top because I haven't used any yet or if its SUPPOSED to be that way.... If it is just sittin on top, should I try to get it to mix before using it or will it be okay as long as its just on top??? THANKS FOR THE AWESOME TIPS!!!

What kind of filler is that green goop?? I need to get some to fill in the gauges on my dash so I can use the PE parts I ordered.. or is there a better kind I can get for that application??

Like I said, only about 7 out of 100 had been opened at all and ALL of the ones that had not been opened still has the carrier as if NONE of it has evaporated. I KNEW someone could tell me if it was able to be saved or not. I am sooo glad to hear that it can be possibly saved!! Hell, thats 100 bottles of GOOD paint for FREE!!!! Plus he gave me an airbrush, R/C Lindberg battleship (complete and UNTOUCHED!!), and he has like 5 or 6 more of the large propellent cans he has to find, which is awesome since I dont have an air compressor. We've been good friends for a few years and he came over the other day whille I was working on my Challenger and I had all my sh$% spread out and came back an hour later with a car load of COOL stuff!!!!! WHAT A FRIEND!!!! Need to do something to repay him! THANKS FOR THE TIPS GUYS!!!!

Out of almost 100 bottles of paint, only 5 of the Model Masters and about 4 of the Testors were opened. The rest had NEVER been opened until I opened a few to look at the condition of the paint. I was really surprised at how many he had never even opened. It was like he went and bought all that paint, got home with it and just quit painting right at that minute!!! He also gave me a COMPLETE IN BOX Lindberg remote control ship!!!!! Hes an AWESOME guy!!! Here's a pic of the kit. HOW COOL IS THAT????

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THEY QUIT SELLING MODEL KITS??? I had no idea until a few months ago when I got laid-off and decided to start building again..... I was quite ANGRY!!!! I totally MISSED the opporotunity to buy some good kits cheap!!

A friend of mine gave me a whole bunch of his old Testors and Model Masters enamel paints and they are extremely old... they have all seperated and I'm wondering if they are beyond hope or if they are still good. I dont know how long paint is good for, but I noticed the labels are from a time I barely remember. If anyone can tell me what years these labels were in use that would be helpful too. Not to bash anyone, but I feel if this site was turned into another one of those sites thats for pure profit, it would ruin the class of people we find here now. We'd have people coming here that have no interest in the hobby except to make money and that can't be good for the people who are here to learn and admire other peoples work... There are plenty of sites to buy from, why do we need it here??? I'm very open-minded on this subject so if anyone has a VERY good reason as to why this site should be for profit, I'm all ears.

Him and his first wife were PERFECT for each other! I didn't care much for the show after Charlie quit and Roy died... ROY WAS THE MAN!!! He may have been grumpy most of the time, but when he wasn't he was a funny motherf!@#%#!!!! I mean c'mon, he MOONED a train full of people!!! And he KNEW what he was doing!!!! I liked Lee too. Jo's a sweetheart, but I'm not surprised that it fell out from under her. Thats alot for anyone to deal with all at once... Even if his son or ex would have taken control they would have lost the company too... I'm a SOCAL SHOP fan anyway!! Never seen anything LESS than perfect come out of that shop!!! 8 week deadlines are bound to bite you in the a$$ sooner or later!!

Well, I'm about 150 to 200 miles south of ya here in Coumbus, Indiana and I see at least 3 or 4 a day around here. Those frames are VERY thin. The one my buddy had he took some square steel and channeled it just inside the door jam and that made a HUGE difference in the overall handling. He had put the 350 in and then the frame started to crack under the pressure from the weight so he tore it apart from the frame up and started from scratch. It was a wicked lil' demon. I wouldnt buy one unless I was going to do something outrageous with it though, well, I would probably buy the '88 or '89 Fiero GT and do some add-ons just because its a 6 cylinder! I cant remember which one was really sleek??? What was the last year they were produced?? '91???

POOR JO... CAN YOU IMAGINE HAVING ALL THAT SITTING ON YOU?? That is so sad...Boyd's son must not be able to fill Boyd's shoes at all. On the show he kinda struck me as a desk jockey or just someone who was spoiled by Dad's riches and hard work. Its a sad time to be a hot rod enthusiast.

It is not hard to find Fiero's to use as a donor car.... there's millions of these things out there!!! And all you gotta do is REINFORCE the frame! These cars are awesome!! A friend of mine had one with a 350 SBC and that thing was the devil!!!!! I loved it! Talk about stupid fast . Imagine having a go-kart with a 4 cylinder honda motor strapped to it, taking hairpin curves at 40 and coming out of it at 95!!!!! ITS THE ULTIMATE WEIGHT TO POWER RATIO!!!! It doesn't get any better than that, especially since its AMERICAN!! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE GM BRING THE FIERO BACK! CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE AS A NEW SLEEK CONCEPT CAR?? Are there any models of this anywhere??????? Sounds like a GREAT project!!!

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! I believe I'll be trying the solder wire trick.. just need to go get some now.. I was looking at some tubing today at hobby lobby, but I wan't sure what size I needed for 3" pipes. When its broke down into hundredths I cant convert that to inches in my head. 1/8= 1.25, right??? What about the colors of the pipes you see on the NASCARS pipes?? Is that Jet Exhaust???
