  1. It's not a kit. The model was built from a very well played with promo. The explanation of how I got here is in the under construction section.
  2. Brings back memories. Beautiful Car!!!!
  3. I finally finished the '65 Olds. The engine is a representation of a 1965 Oldsmobile 425 "Starfire" engine, which was in Dad's Car. I am happy with this one, and I think Dad would be proud, as it is built as a tribute to him.
  4. The finished car is now under glass.
  5. Looking at that one, I'm glad I kept my Dakota kit. Excellent build of a subject you do not see too often.
  6. I am happy to get the Olds with the "Official Pace Car" livery, as well as the Linda Vaughn figurine. I still have an unbuilt Hurst Olds as well as an uptop for it. For the Hardtop version of the Hurst Olds, I cooked up my own. I would love to get a ''70-'72 442, or a Cutlass S or "70 Rallye 350 based on this tooling.
  7. Here is my rendition in 1/25 scale of that Caprice Estate, but with a 427/390/TH400
  8. Here is the one I installed on the body. I believe that this correction kit is the ticket to make this kit work for me. I also re-contoured the side quarter windows. This is the look I am after. I have a set of steelies and doggies for the project. This one is next in line, as I have a couple to finish up..
  9. Dan Blocker's Z-16 was Crocus Yellow, with a Black Vinyl Roof and Interior according to several sources. There is a rumored '65 SS396 Convertible. I do not know if it is real or not. I've read all sorts of speculation on the car. One said it was Regal Red, with a Black Top and interior, another said it was Sierra Tan, with a Fawn Interior. I liked Black. with a White interior, so that is what I went with, and it is a phantom as far as I am concerned. In my collection, I have an original AMT "Craftsman Series" 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS. It's not real nice, but it is definitely restorable. I do not like the yellow polystyrene it is molded in, so I am likely to re-paint it in a different color if I do anything to it. I have yet to build one of the Revell '65 Z-16 Chevelles as is, as I do not like the side window profile. I had a '65 Malibu (my very first car), which I had to sell because of college expenses. I want to do a nice model of the car as it would have been if I did not run out of money. I did a R&R resin re-pop back in the '80's and it's in my basement somewhere. I might just dust it off and restore/upgrade it when I find it.
  10. I love Chevelles. 1965 "Phantom" Sedan Delivery 1965 "Phantom" Z16 Convertible. 1966 SS396 2 Door Hardtop 1966 El Camino 1966 Malibu Wagon 1968 El Camino
  11. Stunning!!!!!
  12. Handsome!!!!!
  13. Considering what you started with, what you have here is a masterpiece. The attention to detail, and the fitment is phenominal!!!
  14. If you can afford them, buy what you wan, and do what makes you happy. Life is too short. Personally, I am not in the financial position to be purchasing those rare kits, but I do not have any problem with anyone who can afford to buy one. I have quite a collection, but I have come to the realization that I will not be able to build them all, so I am selling a lot of them off. There are a few that I will not sell, as I am definitely going to build them. Sometimes I can find a resin re-pop,rebuild-able polystyrene car, or a forlorn promo, and those are my preferences. People who know me know I like big '60's cars, as that is what I grew up with, and I love pickup trucks.
  15. Thanks for noting the differences Chuck. You did a nice job with it.
  16. Wow!!!!
  17. That is the best looking build of that kit I have ever seen. I have one of those. I was going to get rid of it until I saw this one.
  18. Beautiful model. One of my neighbors just picked up a '15 Mustang. I may have to become friends with him to get some detail shots of his car.
  19. Fantastic!!!!
