  1. Looks good to me!
  2. This model is still waiting for paint and detailing. Its not forgotten.
  3. I just cut the springs from the axle, and added about 1/8 or so plastic between the springs and axle until it was my desired height.
  4. I stand by my comments. I have both kits. In 1968, AMT kits were state of the art. MPC was a close 2nd, Johan was a close 3rd, and Revell was not too far behind. Over the years, each manufacturer had its hits and misses. I've been at it for over 55 years, uninterrupted. In most cases, Johan did the best job on bodies. I have had 1000s of models in my lifetime, and I still have 2000 of them in my basement.
  5. It looks good to me. And sorry Bill, mine is getting a vinyl roof. A friend of mine had a yellow one with a black vinyl roof and interior that was simply gorgeous.
  6. From looking at the pictures, it looks nice. I am not sure about the interior. I always thought that the 69 Mach 1 had a distinct interior.
  7. I'm quite happy with mine. I didn't get the Mustang today as I am overwhelmed with Ford builds right now. I did order the 69 Mustang for a later purchase.
  8. I got mine today too. I am not going to start on it as I have several projects going on right not. It is a beautiful kit that puts the AMT 69 to shame. I am going to compare it with the excellent AMT 68 El Camino.
  9. I got a Revell 68 SS396 today. Very nice kit.
  10. While I would love to have these Chevy II cars from Mobieus, I have a Trumpeter 63 Hardtop, an AMT 62 and 63 Convertible, and an AMT 65 Hard Top to do. The proposed 64 hardtop and 65 Sedan would be definitely wanted, but I am not holding my breath for them.
  11. I found a good photo of the standard XL interior trim, and Steve has hit the nail on the head. There was a rarely ordered luxury interior package as shown in the brochure which gives the seats and door panels an LTD vibe. I love this project!
  12. I am in complete agreement with you.
  13. Very nice work!
  14. Nice work.
  15. I love it! I plan to do something similar with a 71 promo I have.
  16. Fantastic! A co- worker of mine had a 63 Galaxie 500XL Box Top. I have one of the promos cleaned up ready for paint. After seeing your masterpiece, I may have to rethink my build.
  17. I got the hood remnants out of the 66 Ford Falcon promo, and the replacement good fits pretty good. I have to do a little file and putty worth to get the edges absolutely clean before primer and paint.. I am leaning towards turquoise with a beige interior. A friend of mine's father had a 66 Fairlane in that color combination. I also cut the dashboard from the interior tub, and the engine plate popped out of the chassis. Now I have to source a 289 V8 for my 66, 67, and 69 Falcons I am restoring I don't know what that thing AMT put in the 66 through 69 Falcon kits as an engine. I have to have the chrome for all three cleaned up and related.
  18. I had to break my hood off, as the glue used to secure the hood melted the plastic underneath. Fortunately, I have both a styrene hood and a Modelhaus resin hood available to me. After I finish this note, I am going to clean up the remnants of the glue and hood from the Falcon body.
  19. I got my goodies from Shapeways today after taking advantage of the cyber Monday sale. I am happy.
  20. Very nice rescue.
  21. Steve, You're killing me with this beauty. I have a suggestion for the wheels. The Mag Stars from the AMT 67 Shelby Gt350 would look great on this car, and would be period correct. I believe that the 67 Ford kit had those wheels too. My uncle had a 67 LTD 4 door Hardtop with the Brougham trim package. The car was Yellow with a black vinyl roof and interior. It was loaded. When I do my 67, I believe that I am going with that combination, with the sport wheel covers from the 66 7 liter, which is also correct for the 67. Also the 67 Shelby has the "flower pot" steering wheel horn button as an extra part.
  22. My sister had a Dark Brown 78 Town Landau. Beautiful car. I hope that you can see fit to do the finned aluminum wheels that were a popular option on the 77 through 79 Thunderbird.
