Eshaver replied to kerc's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Jose , first why did you move to San Antonio? Thats almost as dredfull as El-Paso. look I used to live in Houston , and while its no paneiceia, its livable . Uh seriously , theres a real nice hobby shop on Richmond ASve in Housto you should visit. they can hook you up with some stuff. Replicias of Maryland has some real nice stuff and there was a company I saw in Winston Salem that Vended at the Carolina Custom Moddelers show there this past week end , uh Ill see if K-dog has any info. I also saw some stuff Bandit resins that would have interested you too. Ed Shaver -
AMT INTERNATIONAL SCOUT
Eshaver replied to abedooley's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I seem to remember that the 78 Chevrolet M P C did and A M T reissued was a 4x4, it had a transfer case. I knoe in real life you could put a small block Chevrolet in a Scout as I seen it done here in Virginia. I also remember a guy in Housto when I lived there because you aint seen high prices till you go buy parts for a " Combine" machine. Ed Shaver -
I agree with everyne as to the trouble with B M F. I tryed Chrome Paint that ######- N -Blaque sugjested for something else. I really does have a brushed look about it and could pass for stainless trim tha General Motors used on their cars in the 1950's so look for Duplicolor Chrome , O K ? Ed Shaver

Bill, there was a fellow that lived here in the area here that had such a Cord Beverly painted that color. He told me then it was correct and that it wasn't a common color too. Ive seen black and maroon more often. I would also contact the Auburn , Cord , Dusenburg Meseum in Indiania as to weither you could do your Cord in that color . Ed Shaver

See, the 50 had push buttons and the 49 was a pulll handle Have you checked out Collectable Automobile Magazine? They did a very nice article in the volume # 3- number 6 or August 1987 issue . Your favourite Box art
Eshaver replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have to agree with a couple of folks on page one. Yhe A M T 1968 art work was suitable for framing. I also ,liked the Aroura 1934 Ford box, only be cause it showed a very rare Martin and shartz gasoline pump which was made to be housed in a brick enclosure. There was only one other pump company to offer this type of pump in the 1930's. That pump company was Erie Meter systems. EdShaver -
Ed, If I can add one small detail you can do this ,even on a finished job too. The compact wagons from G M all had " Small" windows on their lift gates. Uh in scale it would be about a quarter inch from the edge on either side. I never saw this in the A M T Buick Special Wagon kits either. Still, if you want to add this detail it would " Correct " a glaring detail the manufacturers overlooked on the models . I like the build though, very nice! Ed Shaver

Considering the fact that I have spent considerable time under the hood of those trucks, im devoutly impressed with your conversion. you seem to have nailed every detail too. If you dont get a first place on that job, P M me I want to know what would beat it. Ed Shaver

An update on the Shell Gas Station. I added my 1953 Ford F100 and the 1934 Ford Sedan. All the details have been completed and cars are subject to change at the show. I did take a photo of the station while driving the 53 F100.

The green Wrecker is a 1930 Ford Model A with a Weaver manual crane. The red Wrecker is a 1990 Ford F350 with a Challenger manufactured rollback body. The purple wrecked car is a 1940 Ford sedan with a Buick engine. My personal favorite a black 1953 Ford panel delivery F100/Last of the flatheads.

hearse and ambulance conversions
Eshaver replied to sdrodder's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I personally would like to have an all inclusive kit as I dont like to piece meal out kits to make a resin body. Still, with that said i would probably do one if the work wa sdecent and the price was stil held to earth standards. Ed Shaver -
By the way John , you are correct as to you're history lesson on A M T plastic colors. Probably only a real fanatic like Dennis Doty would know the answere to all the different plastic runs. Ed Shaver

Chris, does Flintstone still offer this body? Id like to do a sedan delivery but with different markings and trade. Yuore model came out beautiful I remember these early wagons only too well as I had family in the medical fields. Ed Shaver

If you go to Automobile Paint colors on Google you will get to a site that lists all the cars and their paint codes for the year and madel of car. I save me a lot of time going to my body and fender supply shop which is a distance for me now. Ed Shaver
