  1. "If this van a rockin , don't come a knockin ".......................... I have more but somebody would just delete them . Jus remember , I wazza member of the 2% !!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  2. Erik, you're right . I remember A M T doing a "Open Road " conversion as a accessory to a LWB Chevrolet window van about 1978. i remember someone asking me if i would do a scale snack tray in scale as I was too darn busy manufacturing parts for the 1-1 vans . Ed Shaver
  3. Hey, since the miscreants of New York can "Occupy" a street, how bout we occupy a Law office to have Lawyers amend royalty rights so we can have "Stuff entitlements " ............... yeah i , know been sniffin glue again . Ed Shaver
  4. Unlike the Shell station, this diorama needs some attention, I just don't know where yet . I need to think on it ............ Ed Shaver
  5. Aaron, first, Andy Martin's Model T is a real show piece . He did real well in replicating a rare model as in Model type . I Back dated a A M T 2925 into a 1917 model by modifying the windshield header , the top and scratch building a hood and grille . Now the trailer on back is a modified Horse trailer . I'm doing it to be a Bakery goods delivery . Ed Shaver
  6. For the record, turn signals here in the U. S. were clear until 1963. However , I'm told that Motor vehicle codes in California mandate that ALL , including ANTIQUE vehicles MUST HAVE AMBER SIGNALS if driven on ANY California highway. I guess that makes my 53 Ford truck illegal The Galaxy looks like as if it were built back in 1961, well done I might add !!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  7. Josh, I'm building a 53 Ford Courier , it's far from a stage to photograph it yet . The body is available from Jim Flintstone . You need preferably, a Linburg Victoria to finish . The Convertible pace car has the wire wheels . Somebody needs to do the cheepie pieces like hubcaps ............ I think ken Kitchen still makes the 215 six OHV motor . Ed Shaver
  8. When I first saw Ford Courier, I thought of the Ford sedan deliveries , 1950-60. they too were Ford Couriers Ed Shaver
  9. Christian, in all seriousness, I was the owner of a wrecker service . I stayed in this obscene business for too many years . In that time , i have witness wreckers actually cause the damage you point out on the Imperial . Yes sir , pull up with a typical Crane wrecker , slam dem chains under , hoist em up and jerk the clutch. I have seen more than one heavy car's bumpers re- aligned by these "Rocket ship pilots " as they perform their duties .............. Ed Shaver
  10. Sorry, I can't help you as I'm not familiar with that brand . Generally, I buy the Valspar brand of white at Lowes hardware , and through Michiaels Art stores ........... Ed Shaver
  11. T J , that Texaco was kind of actually built here in Richmond Virginia . They guy who owned was a Bill Richardson . I worked across the street at an Atlantic refining station . Sadly , I never took pictures of any of the service stations on either of the corners . In all, there was a Porcelain Box Gulf , three bay , us a Colonial , kind of rare and then Esso, becoming Exxon built a Company owned "Super station . They were refereed to as Exxon Car care centers with a minimum of four drive through bays or technically , eight bays total . The Texaco was a three Bay affair with a drive through affair in the back . This was similar to the Famous Sinclair greasing palace that was built in Chicago back about 1925. You're station is definitely on the order of that Sinclair Greasing palace . Ed Shaver
  12. Didn't the A- team van have an "Early " as in 70-73 dash in that kit ? Seems to me they did . I remember the weird air box from the factory in the darn few Chevrolet vans with "Factory " air too. You had this huge box that you crawled over to enter the cargo area . Funny as they were competing with Ford's superior design from 1969 . No wonder the aftermarket cleaned up on air conditioning from 1970 to 74......................Ed Shaver
  13. Interesting , no one here has brought this subject up till now . Maybe I need to look into this one . Ed Shaver
  14. Charlie , it's already occurring, just look at some of the knock off antique reproductions ! Ed Shaver
  15. Art, didn't Car - Craft magazine do an article on Bill about 1963 ? I seem to recall a gentleman who had a vast collection that was later repeated in one of the Peterson Spotlight books from about the same time . Ed Shaver
  16. Excusing the Bling wheels , FABULOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  17. T J, I doubt you have access to the magazine , Architectural Digest or further some of the late 1930's issues I have had access to over the years . Walter Doran Teauge was the Industrial designer for the Texas Company and of course designed the now famous Porcelain Box which was the basis for all Texaco stations http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Dorwin_Teague http://www.jitterbuzz.com/indpla.html#gass http://www.luckymojo.com/texacostar.html I hope these three links help in the search for the perfect Texaco station ........... Ed Shaver
  18. Barbo, I can see why you're talents are in use at Disney................. Ed Shaver
  19. Christian, Revell did the same back in the early 1960's and I think maybe Aurora did too............
  20. Tony, get hold of Pat Redmond , maybe he knows something ............... Ed Shaver
  21. Ismael, you're talents are timeless sir ! Now go build something new an exciting ! Ed Shaver
  22. Christian , in the past , I have always relied on Auto Color Library .com. In addition , I have also ordered supplies from them as I actually do on occasion get a Early Ford in the driveway to repair . Service has always been first rate and the guys on the phone have always been able to help with any technical problems too. Thanks for sending this site as i can do comparisons now . Ed Shaver
  23. Zipper, I'm told, I don't know for certain ole John had to sleep in the office to keep people from pilfering the place in their off hours . I'm also told pay checks bounced too. The swirled plastic would seem to fit the picture I have of the place .
  24. Believe it or don't Don, S M P was it's own company with a poor wholesale network . Yes , they shared patent designs with A M T to do one piece bodies . In exchange , A M T distributed all the Chevrolet s and I THINK the 61 Buick Special wagon ............
  25. Hey, those dragster photos are impressive !!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
