  1. I bet Ed Roth is looking at it right now ...................... Ed Shaver
  2. Well, it seems to me the model companies are playing "Safe " with the re- issues as there has been somewhat a pent -up demand for the vans . The 57 Ford mentioned is another "Safe " variant . The 50 Oldsmobile seems to be so far to be a hash of A M T- Revell tooling made into a plastic kit . Look, I'll buy several new kits in the coming year as it's PRACTICAL to do so . As for going out on a limb , nope . Still, if the out of the ordinary stuff does indeed show , I may change my mind ........................ Ed Shaver
  3. Tom , the pumps are Tokiem series 461's 1962-1970. These pumps inner workings dated to the earlier "Explorer's " ( 1958-61 ) The sheet metal however was new . They pretty much remained the same up to the last of the mechanical era when the "MEM'S electronic pumps took over in 1972. Ed Shaver
  4. This has to be a Phantom . I never remember such a car. Ed Shaver
  5. Tom, I'm guessing here , but most Pre- convenience stores sold cigarettes by the carton and over the counter . Shoot, most stations sold the things to me for .25c a pack at the island where I was . Yep, got me a dollas worth of premium and a pack of Cowboy Killas ! Ed Shaver
  6. George , I know of places here in Richmond Va. that still even have Iceboxes . Yes , the ones where Ice is delivered from the outside on the back porch . The Icebox is accessible from the kitchen area just as it was in the late 1800's . And yes , I also know of some Dual electric / Gas sconces that still work in homes in the inner city too. Ed Shaver
  7. Clay, first it was an honor to have finally have had an opportunity to have been able to have met you , and the guys . Thank all of ya for your Brave service to America too. Then too, thank you for exhibiting some great racing cars also . Ed Shaver These were Sgt Clays racin cars :
  8. I showed this one several years ago here . It's a Revell 1929 Ford Model A street rod kit where I raided a few parts from a 1929 Ford A by A M T to get a stock truck . The crane was scratch built to resemble a Weaver manufactured crane. Ed Shaver
  9. I'm bout fine with ANY truck that can be built to resemble a stocker . Be it four wheel drive or 2 wheel drive ............ Hey, I like any truck . Ed Shaver
  10. The decals I bet will be a welcome addition to a lot of folks here . Thanks for the pictures and the updates . Ed Shaver
  11. Greg, thank you so very much for sharing the pictures . I see where some of my stuff was featured too. My son and I had a great time and look forward to next year ........... Tell Jerry and Joe to save room . Israel sez he's going to build a couple of kits he won . Ed Shaver
  12. Tom ,in addition to Clark oil , Diamond Shamrock who was now owned by Sigmor in Dallas used OVAL Plastic and Crown Central in Baltimore Maryland . They retailed in the east as Crown . Let me dig through and I'll get some pictures of the "Late " globes . Ed Shaver
  13. Curt, colors were discussed in the back of the sheet . I was O K with the way they did it . Oh I have had a long time subscription to Collectable Automobile too. Common , you should be able to figure out what color goes where . I've seen what you're capable of and I think you'll do just fine ! Ed Shaver

  16. I'll stick with my Elmer's Brand of Foam Core . I get good results , it's White , allows Bondo and any water based paint to work, and you can epoxy the edges too. Anyone needing help, P- M me , I'm here to help ............ Ed Shaver
  17. The problem with Molded Metalflake is doing it to scale and eliminating "Swirl " marks in the hopper as it's being injected into a mold . Anyone with a M P C 1967 Dodge Monaco might want to share a picture of that body with the audience . Then too, lets go back to da Dark Ages of Revell's Goofy Metal Flake cars in 1962 where in , models like the Valiant and the Chrysler were molded in Metal Flake . Wow , dealers were soon "Stuck " with these kits as paint bled , the Flake was too large and overall, showed details of the underside too.......... Ed Shaver
  18. Gee, Id like them too please .................... Ed Shaver
  19. Hey, I liked everyones work ----------------------------! SO THERE! Ed Shaver
  20. I never ever saw the movie . In fact, I never ever saw the Turbine car , except one time in traffic one time . I had one of the leased owners addresses, but he kept it in a garage off the street . I always wanted Chrysler to have made the car available as it had loads of potential . Ed Shaver
  21. Revell should have re-issued this kit YEARS AGO. I know as I had a stock rook one and it wasn't the impossible to build as some here have said it is/was ................ Ed Shaver
  22. Where's ole Evilone , heck I figured he would have bought the whole run of Ecto- 1 kits on a pre-order ? Ed Shaver
  23. "RESPECT THE VAN " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
