Cranky, you should know why I attend a show . I go to see what aftermarket stuff is available . Look, I have gotten burned on Evil Bay and Krak List both . Ive had to darn near sue Pay Pal to resolve a ongoing credit card dispute wherein they CONTINUALLY charge me monthly for services NOT rendered . Yes, it's nice showing off something I've spent a year or so doing . Still, I see first hand what a winner looks like. Ed Shaver

Aaron, I would like to see more of any kind of models outside of the Cvevrolets , Fords , and Plymouth and add to that , the usual ho-humm Muscle cars ................ Cars like a Hudson! Ed Shaver

1959 El Camino trim levels?
Eshaver replied to Aaronw's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Aaron, I looked at this post this morning and found a lot of conflicting information concerning both the 59 and the 60. I found one post where you couldn't get anything outside of a Grey interior in a "Stripper " model to the mention of chrome . I think it was pretty much left to a dealer to get an invoice passed . What 1-1 El Caminio's I have found un blemished over the years seem to confirm what I just said . The packages you and I seem to have to deal with really didn't come about until 1964 when Chevrolet re- introduced the Mid Sized Chevelle El Caminio . I wish I was more help this time ............ Chuck, most had no interior buckets . I think maybe a couple did however as they were the later Friction cars . Without checking every Issue of Collectable Automobile Magazine , I have no way of telling you which had and didn't . That's a question best left to Dennis Doty as he has the entire collection or at least Dick Nesbitt in Arlington Texas would know ............ Ed Shaver

"Holy Grail" Models?
Eshaver replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Uh George , I'm quite sure you meant to say a 57 Ranchero. If you are referring to a Revell. Now meanwhile , A M T did issue both the original and it's first Re-issue in the same art work using a Green /W scolloped 1960 El camino . Now my Grail above all the stuff out there an money wern't an object , Uh a Monogram Futuresta by Daryl Starbird .......... Ed Shaver -
Happy Birthday MrObsessive!
Eshaver replied to jeffs396's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill, when I was 30 , I never thought I would see 50. Now that I have passed 50 , (I'm 61) I wonder if I'll make a few more years myself ........ Happy Birthday anyway ! Ed Shaver -
Steve, first, I would be fine provided the Pontiacs and maybe the De Sotos had an interior bucket of sorts . The clear glass is a plus too as a lot of model builders aren't proficient in doing glass in acetate . The rest , Shoot most of us hereshould be able to scratch build . At least I have / can /will.............Ed Shaver

A NON-AUTO diorama idea I've been kicking around.

Yes, why not Chuck. Build it , I'll look at it ! Ed Shaver -
Don't forget the factory "Cowl" mounted to a Chassis package Ford offered . There are hundreds of bodies one can make out of Basswood and mate the same to a Roadster cowl . Just use your imagination a little . Ed Shaver

Question about stripes on ford vehicles
Eshaver replied to gray07's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Shelly an Darrin, that's a tall order . Back in the 1970's , all of the manufacturers were using stripes to do what motors no longer could due in part to smog regulations , Ford Included . If you have a specific era say car or truck, I may have what you need in my personal files ................. Ed Shaver -

1/25 AMT '76 Gremlin X 2n1 coming from Round 2
Eshaver replied to SteveG's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wonder how much room a diorama would take up to do a 1979 Gasoline shortage say depicting Houston at maybe a Tenneco , Billups or say a Shell station converted to a Convenience store might take up ????????? Gosh, think of the possibilities for a Club Build at a regional show .............. Ed Shaver -

Dwayne , was that the 1st 1925 Model T with the Chopped coupe or the tall one that just recently showed itself ? I have a Chopped , the one that came in a cardboard box , no problems . I also was on hand to see a Tin Box issue , no problems there too. Cranky, this may be an issue with the Tall Model T's that just came out using the 1965 art work . Ed Shaver

Tom, let me see if I can get photos up of the particular pumps I'm deciding upon . Hey, I'll cast these guys myself . I have been building what I have had individually in the past . Problem is getting exact fits as they will be too close together and any differences will be apparent . The pump models I mentioned are from a company in Michigan known as Bennett. Tom, speaking honestly for a moment , I'm stuck . Well, I'm having some serious Kidney issues as a result of a medication I take . That in unto itself is troublesome as I'm constantly going back an forth to a hospital for evaluation . meanwhile , I'm having to decide exactly which Pump to model . If you have a copy of Illustrated Guide to Gasoline Pumps - Volume 2 By Jack Sim go to page 70. Then flip to page 72. and maybe page 77. I'm looking at doing either a Model 2062, ( 1958-61 ) , model 3001, ( 1962 ) or a model 3117, ( 1963 ) .Yes , they share some similarities . Yes , I could do a combination of the three or do dual pumps in this case . I'll need four minimum . That in itself involves casting . I'm still trying to learn casting . As for going to Ohio anytime soon, uh I kind of doubt it as i really don't wish to deal with a couple of members that are from the area on this forum . Ed Shaver
