  1. Thanks guys!
  2. Thanks! Yeah, I wouldn’t have known about it had I not stumbled on a thread on an Fbody forum that had a few pics of the combination. I have never seen it in real life though, as far as I know.
  3. Yep! And in three color options!
  4. Thanks guys! The decals that come with the kit allow for almost any color combination. I think there were 5 sets of stripes in there. I went with the very rare Navy and Gold color scheme.
  5. The new kit with the blue and silver z28 on the front. I picked it up at hobby lobby during a 40% off sale to build between commissioned projects. Only mods were the ignition wires, heater hoses, tire decals, and adding aluminum tubing as spacers to push the wheels out a few scale inches. Nice simple kit.
  6. Thanks for the replies everyone! I got the blue bottle above and it seems to be behaving just like the black bottle I was using. It even smells similar! Thanks again!
  7. Has anyone found a real substitute for this? This stuff was great, and was my go-to for probably decades. It would set quickly, but would give you a couple minutes to adjust the parts if needed. The ones with the red label in the black bottles are not the same...longer to set, etc. The tubes, forget about it. I am not wanting to resort to CA glue because of the risk of haze. And the Tamiya cement in the clear bottle with the green label works by a different process and has ZERO set time (must hold the parts together and apply glue). Thanks for any help.
  8. What is you experience with durability for Molotov markers for parts that don’t get handled, like engine or interior pieces? How do they look after a few years or so?
  9. They look so real! Very nice! Where do you get "hobby shop little bolts"? Do you happen to remember the sizes? Thanks.
  10. Thanks guys!
  11. Same experience here. Just got my order in decent time.
  12. Thanks A.J. Does anyone know if this works as well for creating small parts? I just need to cast a set of 1/12 scale wheels. Thanks everyone!
  13. Thanks guys. Any suggestions for alternatives for both the molds and the resin that is readily available for someone who casts only occasionally/as needed?
  14. I used to buy these kits at Hobby Lobby, but I am not seeing them in my local store or in the online store. Did they stop selling these?
  15. I used this kit to build an IROC using the Pegasus wheels. The tires are from a 98 Corvette kit, IIRC.
  16. I hate to say it, and I will still buy a couple of these kits, but those sidewalls look too tall.
  17. This kit appears to be based off the original ‘83 Monogram kit, that was then updated, IMO unfortunately, to the 85 “E” Camaro. I always thought the 83 kit looked very convincing. The decal set is great with the new kit! You could probably build just about every color combo.
  18. Thanks! The shifter was fabricated and the kit center console was modified since it was originally a manual console. The steering wheel, windshield wiper motor detail, and the pace car decals came from the AMT kit. The headlight switch just to the left of the steering wheel was made from scratch pieces, as was the coolant overflow tank. Lots of other stuff done... I can’t remember it all.
  19. Thanks guys! If the weather ever cooperates around here, I`ll get out and get better pictures.
  20. This one took me 3.5 years to complete. This was easily the most difficult engine I have ever had to work with. It was tricky to mock everything up and align everything above and below the engine (exhaust to the turbo, intercooler, etc) and add additional detail. Lots of details/added changed on this one. I had some fun with the image editor on the first pic. '
  21. Just made an interesting observation that I missed at first. There is no chrome tree in this kit. Even the wheels and side mirrors are gray plastic. Not at all a big deal to me as there was no chrome on the real car. Also, I was a little puzzled at first by the two sets of gauges that appear to be the same except for color. Having owned a real 1:1 of this exact car, I can tell you that the top set appear to be “night time” driving colors (the real car’s gauges light up orange at night) and the bottom would be daytime driving.
  22. Hope this helps!
  23. I havent heard anything, but I am hoping it isn't far behind. Its challenging and has similar inaccuracies, but builds up convincing.
  24. Got mine today as a gift. Needless to say, pretty excited. It does appear that this is a straight reissue, but in light gray plastic and a much expanded, very nice decal sheet! That means the rear bumper, valve covers, muffler, console area, and door panels will need to be corrected to be accurate. But otherwise, very nice kit!
