  1. I usually use 3/32 evergreen tube with brass wire inside to hold its shape for late models and sportsman which scales out to about 2 3/4 inches, and Evergreen 1/16 coated wire, about 1 3/4 inches, a little under sized, but they look good spindly, for modifieds and jalopies. Other wise, this Tiger guy, is right on.
  2. Great link, thank's for sharing!
  3. OK, they had asphalt some where, and Darlington was completed with High Banks when? 1950? But anyway, heres a few of my ficticious Racers you might have seen on the old Daytona beach course! Enjoy! 40 Ford Coupe 40 Ford Sedan 41 Plymouth Coupe
  4. Nice build, looks fast!
  5. Looking real good there, Clay ! That Stude is cool, too, love the moon dics. Gonna be a fine looking race team, when your finished!
  6. Nice detail painting on the chassis, I almost didn't recognize it from the kit!
  7. Pretty wild, Dude, pretty wild!
  8. Thanks for the feedback Mike and John everyone, I appreciate everyone looking and commenting! Here's the vision I have for this ride. Circa 1969, Daytona, Talladega, highbanks super speedway Permatex Modified Sportsman. Staight sheet metal and Aero-dynamics were critical!
  9. The chassis is close to done, when I can find the right tires I could probably finish this thing up, the decals are printed and ready to go. I might need to make fender flares if the tires are to low and wide, which will more then likely be the case. Thank you all for you patience with this mess, hope to have it finished and put all ya'll out of your misery real soon!

    Nice looking builds!
  11. Here's another piece for my future track diarama, so far I have an old fire truck pumper, diecast rescue squad, weathered jeep push truck, a weathered die-cast tow truck, 3 or 4 haulers and trailers, and now a track ambulance! A fun little curbside from the Polar-Lights Ghost Busters! Just another excuse to make decals! Hope you like it! HERE'S THE LINK! http://public.fotki.com/slimlouis/haulers-...rack-ambulance/
  12. Very nice build , Daniel, and welcome to the forum!
  13. That is cool as all get out!
  14. Cool!
  15. I think it looks excellent! What year would this be from, and does the sunlight take the yellow out of old decals? Great job on this baby!
  16. Still have a lot to do yet but this represents quite a bit of work on the motor and chassis..., body too, for that matter. That big Hemi sure fits good in there, plenty of room to work on it, and the hood fits over it too! Yes there is a carb under that air cleaner, a big one, too!
  17. Nova is lookin' good, I like the chop on the Ford, too!
  18. Nice vette, welcome back to the hobby!
  19. Relax, Promodmerc, it's a race car! Mines an AMT body forced to fit on a Revell 64 chassis. The AMT chassis is to toy like, and the Revell 63 kit had not not been re-released yet. So the fit was a little balky, so I hung a screen on it an called it a "dirt car". Curbsides are OK, but I want to be able to turn it over and see the racing chassis, such as it was in 63. Hey Zeb, I think we've had the "Porkupine" conversation before, haven't we?
  20. Coincidently I'm building a 59 Caddy Ambulance out of the Ghostbusters for my race track diarama, and came across this one: http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e386/sli...15amBCbx_ph.jpg
  21. Thanks for that information Ed, I have a couple of those windshields, I'm going to use the rear glass and cut some clear styrene to fit the windshield. Got that big ol' motor to fit without cutting ahole in the hood! Hope to have some new pics up today!
  22. Lookin good so far!
  23. Yes thanks!
  24. Cool, fits like a glove!
