  1. Built this from the snap Revell tow truck. Scratch built bed on a lengthened chassis! Link to more pictures: http://public.fotki.com/slimlouis/haulers-...evvy-race-team/
  2. Nice build, lets see the bottom of the Fairlane!
  3. Looks really real, great job!
  4. Great build and nice depiction of the mom and pop, backyard, little guy! I love it!
  5. Thank you for your comments. I buy my decal paper on line from Bel-Decals Inc. http://www.beldecal.com/making.cfm These were printed on my Dell printer, model # 942 using clear paper. and Print Shop 20 for a program, very limited. Ink jet decals are very transluscent. I can only print dark colors over white, pale yellow, light blue, orange, and black over red. Blue turns green over yellow, too! I use white paper when I'm able to cut around it! I love doing decals, I wish ALPS or something was still around, it's my favorite hobby within a hobby! Sorry, I do not do it professionally, my quality is not good enough to sell!
  6. Wonderful, I love old ambulances and this one looks great!
  7. Never saw it happen!!
  8. Narrowed, shortened, cut down 34 Ford coupe body on a scratch built chassis. Almost scratch built wing, and my decals. Use to watch this race weekly in southeastern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois, back in the day. Hope you like it!
  9. Roll cage, Chassis and motor from the new Model King 72 Torino kit. This chassis is totally wrong for the Torino, shoud be coil springs and trailing arms, not leaf springs! But the leaves and everything go good under this "modern day vintage racer" Hope you like it!
  10. Looking for headers for my 35 Chevy coach the other day in a Studebaker box, low and behold, I found some stuff I had forgotten all about! A 53 Stude post sedan, drag altered wheelbase I started to redo, sent to me from my friend Marty! And an assembled roll cage, the other one from the kit that supplied the cage in my 57 Ford, a Boss 429 I started to build then realized I had nothing it would fit in! And my favorite 57 Chevy chassis! Check it out, life is good! A late 60s Permatex Sportsman car in the making!Wheels by Fred' Resin Workshop!
  11. Good, thanks!
  12. So is this the good one or the bad one?
  13. I have several of these kits, The Don Nicholson versions to be precise. No gold star, no problems with hood or windshield. What am I missing? When were these changes made?
  14. Nice! Who's body? 60 Starliner kit chassis? That is one of my favorites!
  15. This is an old one, two summers ago I think, I have a lot of favorite builds, but I like how this picture came out!
  16. Very nice clean build! Looks real good!
  17. This one could go almost anywhere, LMS as he won Saugus track championship several times, Darkside as he raced at Riverside twice in this car, finishing 24th & 35th? in 71 and 72, and Greyside as he raced it up till 74. Cut the top off and raced as a convertible, and raced on dirt, too. An amazing story about a driver who was paralyzed from the knees down! Revell kit, short trailing arm chassis, nearly stock, scratch cage, and my decals. Enjoy
  18. Circa 1962, I believe, retired ex Grand National owned by his dad, Shorty. Not real close to accurate do to lack of reference material, and color pictures, but at 50 MPH, 50 feet away, and you squint a little, it looks the part. AMT new tool 57 kit, Pontiac motor, My decals, except the white one. And an educated guess on the suspension, and other period correct details. I had a lot of fun with this despite the bare metal foil! lol OK, I see that this forum automatically reduses pix down to 83% Cool! Let me know if I screw something up, I get excited and carried away easy, sometimes!
  19. Well, thanks for the welcome! I'll have beignets and croissants on the table, first thing tomorrow! OK then, I'll post my finished builds in the NASCAR section till further notice, and the WIPS in the WIP place! I might even come up with a couple of old NASCAR builds, too! Looking forward to sharing and learning!
  20. Hi I'm Slim from Arkansas, I am new here and enjoy building vintage race cars, mostly short track and ficticious builds. Is there a place here in your fine forum to display them? If, so, where? Thank you in advance! Slim Louis
