  1. Here's some pictures of AJ in this car in USAC, Milwaukee, on dirt, Langhorne for your enjoyment.
  2. OK Mark, Thanks for replying, I know what you are talking about. Making decals (ink jet, too) is my favorite hobby within a hobby.
  3. It has been a long time since I have posted here, I went back six pages to check if I did these here before and couldn't see anything. If I am wrong I apologize. Inspired by MarkJ's Foyt Dodge, here's two more from the same stable, Paul Goldsmith's Plymouth and Bobby Isaac's Dodge. Plymouth is slightly modified Lindburg Petty Plymouth kit, and the Dodge is a Johan body made to fit on a Lindburg Chassis.
  4. I love it, surprized no one has said anything about all the short track builds I posted here. Really need a section of their own, I feel. But you can justify this build, NASCAR did have a division for these asphalt modifieds, back then! Honestly!
  5. Great looking build, Mark, I love these old Nichels cars, would truly be interested in these decals! Anyway, a great looking race car. Maybe I will post my two team cars!
  6. Looks great Billy, that sure is a nice paint job. I would decal it anyway!! I mean, why not? Thats what its for!
  7. lookin good so far!
  8. Nice build, love the Fairgrounds, and old Nova's, DW too! Q Tips? wow, never thought of that, I must try it!
  9. Thanks DD, moved to New Orleans and still trying to set up the workbench and photo area!
  10. Let me recap what we have here. AMT kit, chopped the A-pillar, rear portion of a Revell 65 Mustang grafted to a front steer AMT NASCAR front clip, scratch shocks, cage bars, etc. Slotted wheels from the Slammer kit, tires OOB NASCAR, detailing paint from Fred, check it out, Detail Master, water soluble wash, very cool! Smal;ll Ford motor, paint by tamiya, decals by me. Liknk to the build: http://public.fotki.com/slimlouis/late-model-sportsmen/73-mustang-cbp/
  11. Here's a few more: Link to the album: http://public.fotki.com/slimlouis/late-model-sportsmen/76-nova-no-8/
  12. I think this was my first NASCAR chassis, I know it was my first homemade hood (and last ) as all I had for this build was a body. I like how it came out, real short track, back yard engineering! Don't know what inspired the color combo, too long ago, but it has grown on me! 13. It's been a while since I have been over here, changed jobs, cities, life, everything! I have one I can call done.An old MPC Southern Stocker kit, that I had chopped the top a few years ago, but thought it looked like a Volvo! :? So I fiddled with it, ended up cutting the roof into quarters and stretched back out with sheet styrene, then built the rest mostly out of the box. the kit makes a pretty cool early manufacturers short track chassis with the leaf spring rear, four shocks per corner, and other cool detailing parts. Rear end pump, and stiffener, headers, big block, etc. The decals are some never seen early efforts by me, bled out some, too, but I worked with it, tires are AMT NASCAR and wheels are Freds! 14. Yes, very nice!
  15. Great looking build Mark! Lovin it!
  16. Very nice!
  17. Simple curbside similar to the 64 Galaxie previously posted. Used the Starliner Chassis under anothe project so I had a body and a simple chassis left over. This will give the Galaxie a run! Enjoy!
  18. Another great looking build, Mark!
  19. Great looking build!
  20. I just wanted to have a little fun, like when I was a kid, building race cars in this same fashion. Now it's called a "curbside" Nearly oob Model King 64 Galaxie Modified Stocker Kit,
  21. Thanks Moon!
  22. I started with the newer tool AMT 57 Chevy "Street Machine" It has seperate frame rails and a hot rodded rear kick up for coil overs rather then leaf springs. I then used after market coil overs and the kit comes with a fuel cell. The front clip is a grafted on AMT NASCAR Front steer clip that lines up well with the 57 framerails, cut both to get the desired wheelbase. The cage and other bars are all evergreen 1/16th rod and plastruct 1/16th coated wire for the bends. Thanks for asking! Here's the link, holler and I will answer your questions! http://public.fotki.com/slimlouis/40-ford-coupe-aspha/
