  1. no pun intended right back on the alphabet..what about my GLS ? or, while were in germany GT/E (this one i actually know, grand turismo einspritsung , a great tuuring car with fuel injection) BMW stands for Blau Mit Weis in case you dont buy the story that the badge is a propellor
  2. thanks ill still be checking in on a regular basis, i just wont build anything
  3. i drove by our local dodge dealership yesterday and stopped dead in my tracks when i saw an deep reddish/brown AAR cuda sitting there i love that type of mopars but when i saw they wanted 59.900 for it i sighed and drove off
  4. that is about msot of the description right there he song does go on to say the driver was dressed like 1950, half drunk and hollowe eyed but it would be interesting to see how one would interpret a car like that, what they would do to make it personal to the driver (you dont have to call me mister mr, the whole world call me Hank) im passing on this one thoug, i got my plate full and im leaving for a 2 week vakation tonight
  5. it looks great my only suggestion would be to put some pennies in the trunk that way you can display it leaning on the wheelie bars like in all your referrence pictures
  6. cant go wrong with a blown hemi is anyone doing the antieuq caddilac from david allen coe's "the ride" ?
  7. awesome looking car the paint looks about a mile deep there are a few things i dont like though (and thats just me, but a dusters HAS to have a front bench seat, i know if i ever get one it will) on a more technical note though...if im not mistaking those are directional tires and the front ones are backwards all things considered though, i really like it

    Blackbirds

some of my all time favorite cars im anxious to see how they come out , right now im not digging the shaved look but who knows, i might change my mind once the paint is on
  9. were done ? i thought i still had a few months left i always intended to finish my build but i guess the deadline just crept up on me
  10. still just doesnt seem right Matthew for starters, i just camt picture a confederate flag on a nissan and secondly, can you imagine a rear bench with say a morning musume flag drapep over it instead of a skynyrd one? im sure they make decent enough cars but its just not right remember what cotton hill said about the maroon mitsubihi? Mitsubishi? They made the planes that bombed Pearl Harbor! I ain't sellin' Hitler's canoe to no traitor!
  11. seems to me a "true" hillbilly deluxe would be an american car not as i heard it on the telly the other day "If your car is Japanese, but made in America... ...in a patronizing attempt to pretend we have a viable automobile industry... ...press 3. i dont even car if its a dodge, a chevy, a ford or jeep but it has to be a american vehicle what about alan jacksons "where i come from" ? it can be any rusty old truck with a missing universal joint or even the bobtail rig that called him on the CB i know you got something you can slap that label on
  12. if on not mistaking gravity fed brushes can run with lower airpresure but syphon fed brushes have a larger capacity sounds to me a gravity fed brush will do just fine for you (one thing to keep in mind though, there are gravity fed brushes with fixed cups. when this cup does not have a lid (and they usually dont) there is the rist of getting caught up in the moment and holding the brush at an angle that will allow you to hit the perfect spot that needs painting but it will also allow paint to drop out of the cup and onto the model)
  13. before i left the hobby about 10 years ago i had a badger 150 it was a great dual action brush but being young i was too rough on it, i didnt take good care of it, didnt clean it well and so the needle never lasted long which did affect the quality of the paintjob when i got back into the hobby a few years ago i was reluctant to buy a new brush, not knowing for sure if i would stick with it so i went over to menards (a home improvement store) and bought there store brand starter brush, a extremly simplyfied plastic bodied brush i pay about 20 dollars for once i decided i was sticking with it i had to choose a new brush and i ended up with the paasche brush shown above (the one with the needle underneath the body) i must say, this brush is so much easier to take care of then the dual action was and i really like it
  14. its gotta sound better then the fartcans all the ricers are running, thats for sure
  15. but it wont go far without that heater hose and it will be LOUD running those open headers its all good though, your having fun building (and thats the main thing) and you are improving as you go, cant wait to see the next one
  16. this is shaping up pretty nicely it will be nice to finally see a focus that can hold its own against mine (ill show it for inspiration) it runs a blown 572 ford big block
  17. those litte details in the paint are a bear, you dont want to know how often i forget to paint the underside of the interior tub you are making some nice progress, just keep chugging away at it is that rear window trim the home made BMF ? that looks pretty darn good for a first try
  18. thanks, there were a lot of firsts in that build for me but im really pleased at the way it came out (not too mention it earned me some brownie points with the girl on the hood) so, did you make it out to the parts store and find anything good ?
  19. that has got to be one of my favorite kits to build and the blue looks great on it also, the ralleys look very good
  20. im no professional but i always enjoy sharing what little skill i do have with other modelers so shoot me a PM with what you want and i'll see if its wthin my skills
  21. my sons eats what i eat and has ever since we added regular food to his milk (even then i enjoyed having a bottle when he did) so no tubs here
  22. i would just put it away for a while and then get back to it after you "calm down" a bit on a side not, the chrome on the exhaust in particular looks great
  23. good, i wasnt sure if my british accent would work when i typed it out
  24. it looks great i especially like the rear bumpers, that seems ver authentic now, my only criticism would be that the paint and the rims just look to new i mean, a truck that has a 2X6 for a front bumper and a 70s series for a rear bumper just shouldnt look that shiny
  25. i chopped up the Kmember from a 70 superbee prostreet to take this engine (which is also where i found the DOHC hemi) not sure what body i will put on it though the supercharger came from the partsbox and the turbos were curtesy of one of our fellow members here Mike DeLuco (shucky) he casts them himself
