  1. Looking good Brian...now when do we take it for a shakedown spin?
  2. Color is Ruby Red metallic over a Black base. Wheels came from one of the Aoshima 'VIP' kits.
  3. Yes, I am using the L series engine that came in the 240Z from Revell with the Fuel-injected intake adapted to it and I have made my own tubular header and wastegate for the exhaust side. I have another of these kits partially built up as well......that kit has recieved the DOHC S20 inline 6 from the GT2000R Skyline kit. I have the Revell 240Z with a twin-turboed 383 SBC as well.
  4. I love the freshness of new plastic. The feel of the celophane being wrinkled in my hands, the crispness of the cardboard against my fingertips, the kid at christmas feeling I get once the box top is lifted free. Then comes the visual rush of fondling the bags of sprues, of unfolding virgin instructions and molesting exposed decals. As mock-up starts, my minds eye goes crazy with a kalidoscope of ideas, a veritable cornocopia of 'what-ifs' spill through my overwhelmed mind. Then when the glue touches the plastic for the first time.....anxiety! As I near completion of a kit, something new comes along and renews these feelings; removing me from the doldrums of turning the 'what-if' into a boring reality. Does anyone else get these feelings, this disease? Or am I alone in my joys and sufferings, trapped on this roller-coaster powered by glue, paint, and plastic?
  5. Very nice indeed.
  6. Brian, I personally really do think those Riviara Lowrider wheels give that truck a freshness and killer look. If it looks that good just mocked up, I believe my jaw will drop when this truck is done.
  7. Just make sure to get that intercooler behind the bumper.....wouldn't want any wayward dogs, opossums, trees hitting it!
  8. Thanks! Color is Testors Burgandy Metallic shot over Black primer.....I still need to polish it out, apply the BMF and decals, and have some '528 Hemi' decals made for the hood in the style of the original '340 wedge' decals.
  9. Thanks for the kindnesses. I will hopefully finish this build this year.
  10. Thanks for the comments guys. As to making it into a 66 from a 67; the inner headlight has to be scaled down slightly and turned into a parking light, the parking lights in the front bumper have to be filled in, a chrome stripe has to run mid-body all the way from front to rear(encircling the gas cap), gas cap must have the Plymouth Arrow emblem added, rear valance panel shaved (from the GTX kit to smooth), and the taillights reshaped. Also, the rear seat area gets filled in (where the GTX emblem sat), front seats get turned to a bench unit, auto shifter on the column from the floor, and center console goes away. The seat and door panel patterns are different as well. Nice build there...I like it. Mine will be the same Dark Turbine Bronze Metallic you see here (as my dads car is that color). I have some good pics of dads car (and if I fly to Florida, the real car) to use in the aid of my build. I'll keep you all posted on this build.
  11. Looking very good Mike. I always liked the smaller Barracudas myself, and considering it beat the Mustang to the market it should be better loved than it is. Then again, fishcars just doesn't have the ring ponycars does....oh well, Ford had better PR!
  12. , . I really need to upgrade my browser....that dang bar in the middle of the 'reply' area is wreacking havok with my ability to post pics here. Anyway, now that I have flooded the 'on the workbench' section with my junk, I think I will leave you all alone for a while, make the trip to the hobby shop, grab up some supplies and paint, and get to building so that just maybe one of these will end up in the 'under glass' section one of these days. Enjoy the pics, and sorry for so many uploads at once.
  13. Just another of my unfinished builds. Along with the Capri build and the others just posted, I hope to finish these this year. Anyway, on to the 'Z'. , , ,
  14. Started with the 67GTX kit. This car is practice for when I do build a model of dads 66 Hemi BelvedereII. , , , , , This has the 440 in it at the moment, and torques sitting under it just for looks. When I build the real model, it will be packing Elephant power and full hubcaps (just like dads real car).
  15. This kit started as an AMT kit that I was building into a model of a friends car. Well, he got rid of the car before I finished the kit. Now, like so many of my other builds, it languishes in the 'need to be finished' stack. Enjoy, and as always, comments and critisisms welcome. , , , I really liked his car, and wish to one day have a real 'Z' just like this (only I won't sell it).
  16. I started this kit when it was brand new and I was living in the barracks at NAS Norfolk (which meant severe limitations on what I could have/do). The body was shot outside in January! I need to finish it (Joe Miles and Jerry Quick will remember me bringing this one to the TAMS meeting held in the Pontiac dealers service bay!). , , , , I have more, but they pretty much already state the above shots. All I could do was detail paint, no superdetailing; so I tried my best with just paintbrushes and a spray can or two. Hope you like it (it is persoanally one of my favorites and I REALLY need to finish it right!).
  17. Dark, sisnister, vile.........all traits that work to make this Camaro awesome!
  18. Yes, unfortunately this kit is a mix of Mustang and Capri right from the box. The bulges on the fenders/quarters and the taillights are Capri, and the wheelwell lips are Mustang. To properly model a Capri, the wheel lips would have to be sanded down beyond flush (so that there is s slight recess around the wheel well opening). Considering I was thinking of doing this very 'morphing' to one of my real Mustangs (I got Capri quarters from an 81 that had been severely hit and had a tree growing through it and front fenders from a friends yard sale), so I left them just to see how it would look. I have some more progress done on this one and will post up pics when the camera, Photobucket, and my computer are all playing nice together; along with some of my other build projects I have going. They will give you all something to laugh at.
  19. You live 15 minutes from me, and I was able to shoot outside today. If you need a hand, let me know.
  20. I've seen the real car in his museum..........and I don't think I could tell the difference if you parked this along side the real car (your model might be a touch cleaner than the real car!!). Outstanding work, and I agree.....thank you for joining this forum and sharing your builds with us.
  21. I agree, very presice in his builds. The only thing missing from them being truly life-like is the grit, grime, and dirt of real life. Everything is just...........too clean to be real.
  22. If you are using the square bottle Testors paints (personal opinion alert), switch to at least Testors 'Model Master' brand round jar paints.....to me they seem to be a better quality and go on easier and more presice. As others have mentioned, Micheals or other craft stores would be a good source for fine brushes (have at least one 1/4", 0, 000, 5/0, and 10/0 in your stash/supply of brushes). That is really all I can think of for the moment, besides working in a well lit area and take good care of the brushes (good brushes are not cheap, but will last quite a long time with love and proper care).
  23. That would suck to have to get rid of what appears to be such a solid car (I have 4 Foxes and would hate to part with any of them). Me too Jason; maybe I'll actually finish this one this year!
  24. Very nice Zuk.......I will have to keep that in mind as I have several big-block K-Members laying around spare! Also, thanks for the info on the scale discrepency..........it just changed my build direction (I think I will go with the new Hemi from the Magnum as they seem larger than 1/25th).
  25. Wow......I think I wrote that number down in 2002-3 sometime (god knows who it belongs to now!)! Thanks for the compliments; it is the Revell Turbo Capri kit I started with and scratchbuilt the intake, exhaust, turbo, wastegate, distributor, block vent, all sorts of stuff. I don't consider myself good by any stretch of the imagination, and I really am appreciative of the replies so far. Eric, you are correct....I am 86GT2go on FBF and FEP.
