  1. I love the photos and remarks on the scratch building process in your fotki. Fun to watch all the detail come to life. I hope you don't stop when this one is finished.
  2. Thanks for the nice comments guys. The Camino is Amt's 65. The engine is a big block Chevy. It could be a 396, 427 or one of these engines radically bored and stroked. It depends on the year the truck was raced. I was thinking 1967 which could make it any of the above motors. I chose 1967 because I wanted it to look like it had been around a couple of years at least. Also, a 396 would not have been very competitive in 1965 as there were not many (if any) aftermarket parts at that time for that particular engine.
  3. These are very well done. You should be quite happy with them. A couple look almost like photos. You even have the slightly out of focus backgrounds.
  4. Looks good so far. I don't know right off what year they would have allowed a flip front end in Gasser class but it would probably be a little later on . By that time you probably could of had fibreglass body parts. This of course would make this car more lighter.
  5. I would leave it also. It looks like it is really faded and weathered.

    PT Bruiser

    Well done and very original.
  7. Very nice and clean. One of my all time favorites. It looks like a real car sitting there.
  8. Looks like a neat idea. The pic. is a little blurry. Maybe some time you can take some more shots. Whats the engine?
  9. The last pictures with the complete background look very real. Lighting is good. Great job!
  10. Very nice clean build!
  11. Yes Juergen that sound about right. These cars usually don't get dirty but rather covered in salt. I bet the paint gets quite worn on the bottom of these cars too.
  12. I really like this. Good job! Are you going to keep it clean or make it look used?
  13. That is a very clean build. Looks real. What colour did you use for the rims?
  14. Very very nice. Great stance.
  15. Thats pretty cool. I like the wiring and fuel lines.
  16. Thanks glad you like it.
  17. Thanks guys. If you could find a body like that in a junkyard now it would be worth some money. The rat rod guys would pay good money just the way it is.
  18. Imagine a young person in the 50's just out of school. Doesn't have alot of cash but wants to get in on this drag racing racket. What could this ambitious youngster do? Get a model A and an early Hemi from a junkyard and purchase as many of the performance parts as he/she can second hand. Do all the fabrication in the bakyard, learning as they go along. Voila! An early altered ready for the track ( the body will have to wait)! Thanks for looking.
  19. Thanks alot guys. Your too much I'm starting to blush. . That means alot especially coming from you Mr. Obsessive. I was looking at your Fotki the other day. I really , really enjoyed watching your WIPs with the explanatins and all. Fun stuff.
  20. Thanks for the kind comments. Nothing too fancy.Wired with paint coming off the header.
  21. Wow!! what craftsmanship! This is really fun to watch. The fact that you started with an AMT adds to it and is very insirational. I hope you do more works in progress in the furure. Thanks Matt
  22. New here. Well the shine hasn't worn off yet , I'll put it that way. Thought I should post something old until I get something new completed. This is a circa 1960 gasser. Everything is correct except it should of had pie crust slicks ( which I didn't have at that time). I like to build "real" cars that the everyday Joe would have done on a budget. Matthew
