  1. Well I might put this one aside for a whilw, I don't have wheels big enough to fill the rear fender, I made the mistake because I trusted the Photoshop images that I used as references and I'd need 20'' or 22'' rear wheels to really look good. I posted pics with aftermarket 19'' wheels and the LeMans Corvettes wheels. I think I'll have to fill in the fender opening with 1/8'' inserts to make it look OK. I'll try to find the japanese site where I bought those wheels to try and get 20'' wheels for it...
  2. I used Tamiya spray. The shine is at 90% I would say, I will clear coat with catalysed clear when striping is done
  3. The putty I use is very similar to Eurosoft which I used before, it is smooth and pretty hard when dry so sculpting is possible without breaking it. But not sure if that brand is available everywhere, I live in the Montreal area Quebec Canada. The only problem I had is if you flex the styrene a little ( like holding it too hard) it comes off from the plastic, I sand with a rough sandpaper before to give it some better grip. I have glued it back with CA once...that got me scared... Mixed with regular blue hardener...
  4. Well the body is painted black, now that you're telling me, I just don't know what to do because a Penske colour scheme would be great. I'll think about it while the construction of the chassis goes on... Here it is:
  5. The Fox notchback is a resin but I don't remember the manufacturer but now that Revell came out with 3 version of their new kits it will be easily available. I should have waited...LOL Gee the answer in this thread really warmed my heart and will keep me on the Mustang route. I'm building a convertible 2010 Shelby as of now and a 2010 hardtop with the remainig of the 2 kits I used for the convertible
  6. That's an unusual colour and it looks great. Nice paint finish. Simply said, this is a beauty
  7. Wow quite a sight, it is beautiful sir congrats for this nice built. By the way I like your sign in the background.
  8. It's the first I see completed. It looks good in that colour and your building is clean. Congrats
  9. Awesome machine! and a great built too. Very nice sir, just love those racing Fords
  10. That is a nice colour for sure. A complex mix of green, gray and blue, the effect on this sleek body is surpringly beautiful. You're going in the right direction, it will be awesome...
  11. Finally I will use the Revell LeMans Corvette that Mr. Earnhardt drove at the french race. The wheelbase is about right and the details is good. I might try to use the Camaro dashboard and door panels to make it a show racing cars SEMA type. I'm decided on the colour, it will be black maybe without the red striping. Not sure yet. The body is at the first primer stage, there will be some details to fix of course after all that sanding.
  12. ùYes I'd like to make a mold but don't have the equipment and knowledge. I can cast small parts like carbs or air dam but that's my limité You guys gonna make it hard to choose the colour, I like em all...LOL It's gonna be primed tonight. I"m adding a scoop on the roof before.
  13. This is a fun kit to built, I just made3 of em. This ZR1 in white is awesome. if you can install the wheel a little offset you'll get that mean look. Is the roof carbon fiber on this one? I'll watch for sure
  14. Here's the body almost finished. Just need some final sanding and primer. I decided to use a Revell LeMans Corvette as the base for chassis and engine, I will try to upgrade the interior using the stock dash and door panels if it is feasible, that would make it more of a show car than a real racer.
  15. I'll let you drive it when it's done, of course if we ever met...LOL That's my new friends in this forum for the encouraging comments, it gives me the drive to finish it That LeMans Corvette would be the best because a Camaro like this one would be derived from them and built here by the same race car maker. But I'll check those Skyline first
  16. The idea of a Calsonic Nissan for the frame is great.kind of like it, I'll check the feasibility but it would be a supreme insult not to use a Chevy engine. Specially that a vette took second podium place at LeMans. Also some of those kits are well detailed but not the chassis and roll bars.I might modernise one of those Revell IMSA Mustang with new technologies and engine. I found that this concept is called ALMS Camaro for American LeMans Series.
  17. I started modifying the front end:
  18. Thank you all for the nice comments. I'm working on the body but have no idea yet for the chassis...Maybe an IMSA racer kit, or a modified Nascar with raod race suspension...decision, decision
  19. Some work from last night
  20. Here are the pics of the progress. First I made some framing and then applied manyb thin coats of catalysed putty: I added a lip to the bumper to extend the edge a little
  21. Greg you are just a tad ahead of me as I choped the fog lamps opening tonight to enlarge the vent opening. I filled it with my plastic mud ( sprue melted in liquid cement) Next session I'll work on smoothing the opening surround and start making the new fog lamp pods. I think they are brake vents and not fog lamps. I'll post pics tomorrow
  22. Yeah! I like where this one is heading. Keep up the work...
  23. I noticed the actual race cars were like your pics. This one I think could only be an exercise of style. Could'nt find infos on it. if anybody finds a hint somewhere, please let me know. Might be only photoshop pics but I sure like it and will build it. So I'll change the title to Camaro Race Car ... I love the scheme, I think I will reproduce it in decal form.
  24. I found this on the web. I think it is only at the concept stage for now but I though this would be a great project.
