  1. Here's some pics with paint on it. I still have flames to add and clear. Thanks for looking!
  2. Here's a pro mod Merc I've been working on for years. The top chop is a mess. I've put it away several times and I finally decided enough is enough! It's a '55 Chevy Chassis with a Cammer motor. Here it is in primer. Comments and criticisms welcome. Thanks for Looking!
  3. We are executive modelers with Mark Harmon as Chairman of the Board! I volunteer to be Dean Martin if we become the Rat Pack!
  4. This month's theme was Street Rods and Customs. We also had a lot of older builds on display as well as a TON of WIPs. Enjoy the pics, more at the link! Meeting Photos Theme Winner - '32 Ford by Bob Mako Non Theme Winner - Dave Deal Van Thanks for looking!
  5. I've got the mixer but not the gasser. I may pick it up next time I see it.
  6. Thanks guys! The pics look much better because some guy told me how to take pictures! Thanks! Now I have to find something to put it in for display!
  7. Cool! I like that style of model. You did a great job on it, I may have to find one of those to build myself.
  8. It's finished! A neat build that took some serious fit modifications! I may add a few more school district decals, but for now it's done. Comments and criticisms welcome! Thanks for looking!
  9. Zack, They make small ones just for your AB, you can get them at Coast Airbrush or Bear Air. I use a Quick disconnect on the compressor end and use a separate hose for each AB. You could also rig up a manifold of some sort and have them all hooked up at once if you want. I hope this helps.
  10. Thanks Dave! Here's today's progress. I played around with the lighting and the camera settings, so the pics might be off a bit. I haven't glued the roof on yet and I have some touch up to do. These old kits have some major fit issues. I also made some custom decals for the sides to reflect the school district I work for (my first try). I'll put those on tomorrow and then load up the chrome. Even with all the fit issues, this kit is fun to build. Enjoy! BTW, comments welcome, as always! Thanks for looking!
  11. Thanks for the tip, CB. I'll try that on the next shots.
  12. I bought this kit in November and got started right away, but several projects got in the way. Now I'm finally making progress. The color is candy yellow over white pearl. Too bad my lighting casts a yellow tint on everything, because this thing is really bright! A few more details to do and on to final assembly! Comments welcome, as always.
  13. The vinyl top wasn't painted, glass, BMF and final assembly was all. The tires were under the beast, I think you missed them because I had it sitting in the back disguised as a milder auto.
  14. Nice! I like it, a simple clean build.
  15. DR Dubois - I shoot everything with Createx Auto Air. Once you get past the learning curve it's killer stuff. No spray booth required in the house and you can use any clear over it. Tip dry is a problem when you spray those fine details, though. Thanks for the compliments!
  16. They look good except for one thing (I'm not being mean here, just helping a bro out) they need to be more random. You have a pattern, especially on the hood. Look at pictures of real flames and you'll see what I mean. The color looks smokin' and they have nice depth. Good job! I love painting these on models, it's a lot of fun and you really can't mess them up! You guys that are waiting to do a car with real fire, just do it! It's only paint, it'll strip off!
  17. Here's mine. We recently moved and I have a space in the basement. I've moved it from an upstairs bedroom and then to another part of the basement. It's not much, but it's my little slice of heaven! No spray area yet, but I'm working on it.
  18. Thanks a lot, guys! The flames are airbrushed, I tried a few things with them to give them depth. It's candy blue with white, I think I went too dark with the blue. I think the Coronet P/S chassis has the rear end too narrow so I added some aluminum spacers to the axles. I also cut and reshaped the rear wheel openings, as well as flipping the rear four link and front spindles to give it a good stance. Ajulia, silver is a pain, I always use a black undercoat to give it more depth and easier coverage. My problem was with the clear I put over the silver before the flames, first time it was too thin, then I dropped it right after I cleared it (wet paint and dirt don't mix). The flames went on real easy. Thanks for the comments. fordh8r, here's another flame job I posted a while ago -
  19. Looks good! Very clean build.
  20. Nice! I'm lovin' the Charger and the Christine car. Great work!
  21. I finally finished my '69 Dodge Charger Pro Streeter I was working on. After having several Clearcoat problems with the silver base, vinyl top problems, and an upper radiator hose dilemma, it is done. I think the flames came out OK, it's the first time I've shot blue flame. I also custom built some exhaust turndowns out of aluminum tube. Other than that it's a '69 Charger body on a '70 Super Bee Pro Street chassis and interior. Comments or criticism welcome. Thanks for looking!
  22. On Thursday we had our meeting of the Buckeye Scale Auto Club. We had several cars show up for project night. Deke Miedel won the voting with his street rod project. There should be some really nice completed builds in the future! We also gave out the model of the year trophy to Mike Lomaka, Jr and the Hemi Award for outstanding service to Mark Harmon. Congrats guys! Photos at the link. BSAC Jan Meeting Model of the year award Deke's winning rod
  23. This isn't a car, but I've been working on this while I'm painting another build over my Christmas break. I did something a little different with the photos. Enjoy!
  24. Not to step on anyone's toes, but this whole "bailout" of the auto industry is sounding more and more like a threat to me. Bail us out or else! Not the best way to convince me you need a loan. Remember, this mess was started because people didn't buy American made cars for what ever reason. Until they start buying them, this is not going away. Just my .02!
  25. Dude, I'm a huge Charger fan myself. I've owned 4. A 70 R/T, a 71 SE, a 72, and a 73. Chargers rule!
