LED or Fiber Optic ligthing
Ramcharger replied to davyou5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
LEDs are the way to go. They don't heat up when the are on and use less energy. Check out some model train websites, they usually have them. It's fairly easy and self explanatory, stick the bulb where you want light and run the wires to a power source. I'm working on a project right now with some, I'll post pics when I get a chance. BTW, they make some very small LEDs. -
What is with ebay?
Ramcharger replied to car lover 1996's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Interesting, you use a Bid Sniping software to keep the price low and the sellers jack the shipping to make money. Is there a connection? -
It will be there on Thursday in all it's half finished glory! If the weather warms up I hope to have it recleared by then. See you Thursday.

It's that time again! The Buckeye Scale Auto Club meet this Thursday at Panera Bread on State St in Westerville at 7:30 in the PM. Check out our website for directions to the fun ( www.bsacohio.com ). Bring a model to show off, or a project to discuss, or just show up to BS. The theme this month is Customs, so bring out your cool kemps. See you there!

I've been working on this Buick for a while, I shaved some of the trim, filled the hood and shot Pearl Black on the whole thing. Then I shot some fire on it in Pearl White and covered the whole mess in Candy Blue. The clear had some dirt in it, so I'm going to hit it again with some clear. It's been wet sanded in these shots (except for the hood) so it's a little dull. Comments welcome! Thanks for looking!

More pics from Pittsburgh! Pittsburgh 2010

Those Pittsburgh guys put on a great show! Very nice models there and some pretty good vendors, too. I had a great time there. That show is on my "go every year" list.

OK maybe not, but there will be models, projects, good conversation, and award winning goofiness. Be there early for dinner or just for the meeting. We have a 50/50, model contest, and a chickin pluckin' contest (not really on the chickin pluckin'). We meet at 7:30 on Thursday Sept 2 at Panera bread on State St in Westerville, O-HI-YA. Go to www.bsacohio.com for a map and directions. Be there or be an equilateral, equal angular, four sided polygon!

62 Buick Electra 225 for the BCAS 'same kit' build.
Ramcharger replied to whale392's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Lookin' good, Brad! I guess I'll have to do something to mine, it looks the same as it did at the meeting! -
Nice Build! I'm a huge fan of your work. Now I'll have to drag mine out and see if it comes out half as good.

I just finished this one... in a day! Well, I actually painted everything the other day. It's the Revell California Dune Buggy kit I picked up at a swap meet. The wheels were ugly, so I shot some Alclad on some parts box slots and the headlights were missing so I used a set from a '32 Ford. Since it couldn't be built box stock, I went ahead and wired the engine. The paint is Purple Flake with Dupont clear. It was a fun little quick build! Comment welcome! Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! This is the first one I've gone "over the top" on!

I just finished this 57 Chevy Zinger! done up gasser style. The paint is Candy Apple Red, the motor is from the van zinger, the front has been lowered, custom rear wheels, it's wired and plumbed for the fuel injection, white wall slicks, and foil trim. I made head pipes out of wire and a tube grille. Overall, a fun build! Comments welcome! Thanks for looking!

Better late then never! I just now getting around to posting the June meeting of the BSAC. We had low turnout due to really nice weather. Here in the midwest, when it's nice out, you get out when you can! Here's some photos: Thanks for looking!

At the drive up window! "Duude! I so have the munchies right now!" With some smoke of dubious origin rolling out of the open window.
-
Here's my Zinger! Super Van in purple flake. I did it up like a show rod with the motor painted the same color as the car. I also wired the distributor, drilled out the zoomie pipes, and shot Alclad chrome on the front axle. Comments welcome, enjoy! Thanks for looking!

'61 Dodge Phoenix, white exterior, red interior, 413 cross ram automatic trans, Red and black lettering on the car (similar to the "62 car). Basically a stock '61 Dodge. Not many photos of this car because it was 1961 and the Ramchargers were just getting started. I'll see if I have any more photos than the ones you have when I get home. I doubt it though, they are rare as hens teeth.

A buddy of mine said the same thing. I guess they dropped or mishandled the body and cracked it!

Let me just add a comment here as I sit in a room full of 14 year olds while they start on their homework. The one thing that has been forgotten in this whole mess, Nick if 15. Technically a child, and so he behaves like a child. He is learning to model and he is learning social skills at the same time. The adults should be teaching him the skills he needs by example. There may be a need to correct behavior, but maybe a public setting is not the place. One of the things you learn very early in my profession is to pick your public battles wisely, otherwise the child wins by getting you into an argument and making you look foolish. It is part of their development. As adults we need to let some comments slide when they come from the mouths of children. BTW, Nick, I'm sorry if you're offended by this post and me calling you a child, but as I tell my kids here, until you can vote, join the army, have a real job, and can legally drink you are still a child. Sorry, dude!

I just finished this Polar Lights Funny car kit. I added plug wires and had to make several tries at the paint, but here it is! The kit builds up nice, but isn't accurate for the Mr. Norm's car. I also painted the frame the wrong color, it should be blue(?). Comments welcome! Enjoy!

Won the theme (Convertibles) with his Corvette Roadster Comp Car, and Dan P. won the Non-theme with his Jeep. Mark's Roadster: Dan's Jeep: Follow the link to the rest of the photos! May Meeting
