  1. The BSAC (Buckeye Scale Auto Club) started in 1983, so 26 years!
  2. BSAC (Buckeye Scale Auto Club) held their November meeting on the 5th of November at not-the-president Mark Harmon's house. We had a pretty good turn out with several great cars on display. Elections were held for club officers. President elect Rick Schneider informed us he could not fulfill the office of president due to other commitments. So the new president for 2010 is Ron Francis, and the president elect for 2010 is Mike Newport, treasurer stays with Mark Harmon, and Bob Mako is sticking with the secretary job. Congratulations to all of those foolish enough, er, willing to be club officers for 2010! Now for the models. Best Theme, Celebrity Cars: Bob Mako's '68 Bullitt Mustang Best Non-Theme, Ron Francis' Dodge Farm Truck: More photos at: BSAC Nov Meeting Enjoy!!
  3. Here she is with paint. I have a few odds and ends to paint before assembly, I hope to get it together this weekend. Enjoy! As usual, comments welcome!
  4. Show rod, I laid some paint on it yesterday. It'll have the white interior and pearl paint. Thanks for the ideas for the grille, I hope to have some clear on it tonight, then I can start putting it together.
  5. Updates! I finally have all of the bodywork done and I hope to get some paint on it this weekend. This thing has been a real pain to get straight. I'm not real happy with the grille, I need to do something else for that. Here's the primer shots: Enjoy!
  6. I thought about it, but I want to get the bodywork finished on the main body before I look at the fenders. I should have it in primer by the weekend, then I'll decide. I'll post more photos then.
  7. Every year our model car club has a same kit night. You have a year to build it, and we see who built the best at our Christmas party. I've been working on mine, so I thought I'd share. Comments welcome! Thanks for looking!
  8. Interesting thread. Try this: pick one. Just one car you would actually buy more than one of, to have Revell make a kit of. No lists just one, the one and only that you would buy at $25.00 a kit. Now if everyone posted their one and only, how many of us would have the same one? Of that list how many of us would actually buy them in a quantity that Revell can make money off of? If you think of it that way, you see Revell's problem, they need to produce a kit they can make money off of. A '32, a tri five Chevy, Mustang, Camaro, Charger, etc, are safe bets. So are reissues. In the old days there was AMT, Revell, Monogram, MPC, and Lindberg. Who's left? I don't think they will be taking too many risks in tooling investment. BTW, mine would be the Roush GTO/Trans Am Cougars from the late '80's early '90's. But that ain't gonna happen!
  9. I find it interesting that the conversation has shifted from styling and why American cars don't sell to why American cars are really better. GM could make the best car in the world, but if it doesn't sell, it doesn't matter. Why don't American cars sell? Simple, they are not making what the public wants and they haven't for years. Poor management has caused a loss of faith in them, and let's face it, we are no longer a car culture. Cars are just a way to get places for most people. You can argue how great the new Mustang, Challenger and Camaro are, but unless you buy one the car companies don't care. Notice I said YOU, not how well they are selling nationwide. Without laying down some green, you "ain't got a dog in this fight." BTW, I drive my cars till they are junk, so car companies really don't care what I think. All of the discussion about alt fuels and quality mean nothing unless you're buying. You can also argue all you want about styling, but American cars are bland and ugly and don't sell. If that weren't true we wouldn't be bailing them out with our tax dollars. Just my .02!
  10. Thanks for the comments guys! I would have replied earlier, but we went out of town. I think I'll replace the injector stacks, I didn't realize how bad they looked until I saw them magnified!
  11. I just finished up this looong project. I put a Hasegawa V-12 in a Monogram Jag XKE. I also flared the fenders and added wider tires. Scratchbuilt solder headers and aluminum tube fuel injection stacks. It was one of those work on it a while until I got frustrated and then put it up for a while projects. The color is Testors Model Master British Green Metallic. Comments welcome!
  12. Here's some more progress shots of the Dodge. I'm making it look like an Ohio daily driver, so it's a little dirty. Comments welcome!
  13. Too late, I'm already there! I loved his work in CARtoons!
  14. Here's a glue bomb I picked up at a swap meet a couple of years ago. The model car club (BSAC) is having a restoration build in October, so I thought I'd do this one. This is after a lot of work to get the glue off the body, disassembly and sanding. I have to paint the wheels, body, and fix some paint and glue smudges on the glass and I'm callin' it done! I'm finishing up the '66 car, working on this, finishing a GT40, and starting a '62 Dodge. Sometimes you just gotta build!
  15. Thanks for the compliments guys! I use a program called Comic Life to add speech balloons. This has been a very loooong project that I had a lot of problems with, I hope to have it done soon.
  16. New pics of the car! All that I have to do is figure out how to mount the front end on this beast. Those guys are still working on her! Maybe they will finish tomorrow! More pics at the link - Ramcharger Garage
  17. We have a winner!!! Now Vanna, tell him what he's won! You have won a gigantic bucket of ... nothing!! Thanks for the compliments and Mike, this car has the optional gyroscopic super stabilizing tru-trac drive available only on the 1960 models with the factory straight axle and super tall slicks! No way it ever rolls over! Now flipping over backwards is another story!
  18. Some artwork I've been foolin' with. I still have some more work to do on it, but it's good for now. Can you guess what year and make the car is? Also the broad in the car does not have a mustache, for some reason it just shows up that way digitally. The final copy won't have that problem. Enjoy!! Inspired by Ed Roth, Ed Newton, Jimmy Flintstone (Shriner head), and a really bizarre sense of humor!
  19. I'm working on the '66 Ramchargers car so I thought I'd post some pics of the guys in the shop working on her. I was just goofing off with some photos, I'll post some better pics when it's done.
  20. This month's theme was Japanese kits. We had some great builds show up and some cool projects in progress. Photos of all the models at the link and the theme and no-theme winners are below. Enjoy! BTW, the blurry photography is my fault, I have a loose nut behind the lens!! March BSAC Meeting
  21. I think the Politically Correct term is "Freedom Curves"
  22. Love the rods! You did a great job on those! Thanks for sharing.
  23. More progress! I painted the flames. Next comes the clear, BMF, windows, and misc. chrome! Again, comments and criticisms welcome! Thanks for looking!
  24. Thanks, guys! You are too kind. Mike, it almost became a "hit the wall behind the workbench" accident diorama. Custom Hearse, the flames will be hot rod flames in yellow to lime green fade with an orange pinstripe around them.
