Weather was good the past couple of days so, I decided to get another another championship car started. I noticed that in 85 it appears the cars didn't have the lower valance on the nose so, I trimmed that off. Primed, painted and cleared. Tires have been decaled and dull coated. Will be using Powerslide decals.

That is what I used. When I sprayed the yellow I pay much attention to the separation line and just fogged the yellow back where the blue went. Taped and sprayed the blue. Now I will say, that I went back and tried to repeat the chassis after sanding some scratches out where injector pins were and the 2nd coat did wrinkle up the 1st coat some. Maybe I was just lucky on the body I don't since this was the first time using this paint

I temporarily placed the windows in from the inside like the kit comes and marked the opening on the windows. I then filed them down to fit the opening. Glued some plastic strip on the inside of the body to hold them in. Taped up the windows to protect them and laid them in place to add a little putty to have a smooth transition where needed from windows to roof.sanded flush removed the windows and painted body.

Looks great. Just completed mine caswell. Always liked this scheme better than the other Miller schemes -
After completing my 1983 Winston Cup Championship car, I dug through my stash and found this one. Thought i might as well work on this one. Started as Quaker State Buick. Primed and painted with Tamiya Gold, Testors Gloss White. Powerslide decals and then Cleared the body. Found a white chassis to paint res and will use the green molded chassis for a black chassis instead of trying to prime and paint it red. I didn't like how the windows go in from the inside since the real cars had flush mount by this time so I worked on the opens and windows to get them to fit flush. Time will tell if it will work properly.

Was never really much of an Earnhardt fan but sure do miss the man. Racing to me, hasn't been the same since his death. Always thought about building as many of the championship car as I can so, naturally had to add this one. Glad I did. Really pleased with of this one turned out. Started the Revell "Pass in the Grass" kit and ordered up a set of Powerslide decals. Went looking and researching what colors best matched the decals and found Rustoleum Sun Yellow and Brilliant Blue matched the best. Never used Rustoleum on a model before so I was alittle worried as to how it would turn out. Prepped the body sprayed the inside first Blue, then taped the inside up and sprayed the Yellow and then taped that and sprayed the Blue on the outside. A little polishing and pleased with it. Applied the decals and got excited to finish it up. Not perfect but very pleased with it. Now to see what else is in my stash that I can build fairly quickly during the "stay at home" order due to the virus. Trying to get what work done, help home school and some down time for myself, not easy.

Since we have a "new" Nascar Showroom section, I thought I would post this here. Always been a fan of Bobby Allison and always like the simplicity of the this paint scheme. I sStarted with an original !983 Miller High Life Monogram kit. I prepped and painted the body White. Used the great Powerslide decals and then cleared over them. Cleaned up all the mold lines and assembled the rollcage on the chassis and painted it Black and then sprayed that with Tamiya Semi-Gloss. I just like the look of the Semi-Gloss chassis and rollcages. Not to shiny to reflect a lot of sun while in a race. Gloss coated the backside of the tires, decaled and then Dullcoted them after removing the seam on the tread.

My next victim in my line of hopeful Nascar Championship cars. Found this one in my stash already painted. Started with an original Allison Miller Buick, Powerslide Decals. Painted White, decaled and then Cleared. Decals wrinkled just a little bit. Oddly enough, I had another build do this but over the past few years they have leveled off. Not sure if it was a fluke or what but, hey. Always liked the look of the Miller cars but the simplicity of the White with Red has been my favorite.

Got some outdoor pictures today. Was never really a fan of Earnhardt but the racing sure isn't the same without him or any of the older drivers. -

Slow progress. Got the wheels completed. Scuffed the tread of tires to do away mold line and give them a used look, decaled and flat coated. Wheels semigloss black and highlight painted recessed holes, lugs and hubs -
Will be following. I've got a resin Dakota ProStock body that I've had for a few years to build Ronnie Sox's but haven't had time to really sit down and come up with a chassis for it. I do have a Revell Firebird Prostock that I was going to start with. Will be following your build.

Sorry guys, I was asked about the paint and where I got it from and was brought to my attention that it was actually Rustoleum Paints that I used and not Krylon. Had a brain fart with all the home schooling and trying to get work done all at the same time. Paint color names are correct though.
