I'm liking this wheel comb much better. Was just thinking about some different but I didn't like the larger wheels

Although the Chevy Rallyes are a nice looking combo but, around here everyone with a classic Chevy has put them on their cars. I think they are over done. Just went looking through my stash and came up with a set of 5 spoke mags from the latest 55 Cameo. Think I'll use them with some Polyglas white letters

After dealing with helping my Father with taking care of my Grandmother and ultimately passing the past 3 weeks and taking a break from my 55 Nomad build, thought I might get this back out to work on some. Got some chassis work completed. Still toying around with my wheel choice. Just not 100% sold on them yet.

Mobius 65 Mercury Comet Kit?
jjsipes replied to 2zwudz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I like the kit. It builds up nicely I think. I have built 2 so far - 1 Beswick and 1 stock -
Yes, I'm going to use Tamiya Pearl White but thinking Tamiya Champagne Gold roof (not an exact match though). I never heard of them until I started watching Bitchin' Rides on Motortrend TV. Seen this Nomad on one episode and really liked the look of it.

This is will be a slow project. I have it at my desk at work for slow periods. Not sure how well it will go but, I'll try. This is my take on the Kindig It Designs 1955 Nomad. I have the flowing kits to use AMT 1955 Nomad, AMT 39 Chevy Wagon Rod and thought about the Revell 2010 Camaro for engine but I think I might just wind up using the Wagon Rod engine for ease. Chassis/axle from the Wagon Rod would not drop in, to wide in the rear, front width is ok. Thought I would try my hand at fabbing a chassis.I started by looking for chassis diagrams and scaled then and printed them out to lay and cut my rectangular plastic to build the frame. I am using the snout of the Wagon Rod chassis to be able to use the suspension pieces and will be using the rear axle and bars for the rear. I have a set of Chrome Suey Wheels from Pegasus to use. I am able to use the rear tires out of the Wagon Rad kit without modification but the front I had to cut the extra ring out on the hole in the tire and stretch them over the wheels just a little bit. So, I've been sitting here thinking about all the decals I have in my decal box and decided to get some cleared out. I grabbed the wonderful Powerslide 1987 Wrangler Monte Carlo set and a Revell Monte kit. Never a fan of Earnhardt when he was alive but, the racing hasn't been the same since, in my opinion. Went looking for color information and found that most people were using Rustoleum paints for this car. Never used Rustoleum on a model, was afraid on how it would react to the plastic. Decided to try it. Went to Home Depot and purchased Sun Yellow and Brilliant Blue. Prepped the roll cage and body and sprayed them both. Didn't turn out to bad. Had alittle etching and some sand scratches after first pass with the yellow. Scuffed and reshot the yellow, made a copy of the decals to cut for paint guide, taped up for the blue. Still have a few spots that need attention but overall happy with the results.

After seeing the topic of the Golden Sahara Restored, it made think about the Kopper Kart. I went to the Goodguys 1st Grundy American Nationals Show at the York Fairgrounds in York, PA and was walking around and came upon it. I was surprised to see it sitting outside. I didn't talk to anyone about it. Had people walking around it all day. Not sure it is was the real deal or not but still kinda cool to see.

While the weather has been nice, I thought I'd get somethings painted in preparation of winter. Dug out my 1967 Nickey Camaro to get ready. Sanded, primed with Tamiya White Primer, interior primed with Tamiya Gray Primer. Body and interior airbrushed with Scale Finishes Emerald Turquoise enamel. Primed the interior gray in hopes of a shade difference in the color. Have been told it looks Blue and no turquoise to it but when I place my 67 hood with my 69 Lemans Blue hood you can really see the color differences. Hood pictures were taking inside and appear to be different color than the body but, I assure that the hood are same color as body.
