  1. I had a go around w/Randy some time back. It was a small order and i was getting quite impatient. He was way over the promised delivery date and he got pretty upset when I made a complaint on the internet. Claimed he would be dropping everything but the latge item kits he produced, but would consider special orders of anything small. Really too bad, his castings are very good !!!
  2. I'm retired. My wife and I live on our SS and a VERY small pension. I really feel for the present working class. Our politicians, ALL of them, ignore the basic problem in the country. It stems from way back when they initiated NAFTA , so their corporate supporters could outsource American jobs and bring their products back in with low tarrifs and made with cheap labor. No workers = no tax to run the country with. I just heard yesterday that Chryser is letting the HUmmer go out of the country. Good bye American Motors. How many CEO's gave themselves million dollar bonuses for that move?? I'm sorry, this probably won't go thru because it borders on a political rant. But I do feel sorry for those who are out of work.

    TINTAIL

This completes the 4 Banger Trinity. Contemplating a 20's garage/speed hangout dio for these. Hoping to score a brand spanking new showroom Model A for it.
  4. Got 'er done. Sun was out yesterday morning, I hauled the garage out and took some fotos. Then I packed the model up for the trip to the Tampa show this weekend. I will run the rest thru the editor for downsizing and have them in the under glass section soon. Thanks for looking.
  5. Gettin close. Just finished up detailing the engine room. Have a few more areas to finish up.
  6. Both of those inspiration cars are gorgeous. Good luck with yours.
  7. I've started assembly. I have the front and back axles, engine and body on the frame, and doing a bunch of the small details. Tintail was referred to as another of my "rat" builds on the other forum I frequent. I want to point out that it is not intended to be a 'rat rod' as such, but rather a companion piece for my other two four banger early era, pre-war, hot rods, and to to replace the post war 32. I had to steal the wheels off of another model to get some early enough wheels. Wish I had had some wires but what I have will do.. I'll call them the "Four banger Trinity" and then the 32 will be in a seperate genre as just a very early 'modern' hot rod.
  8. I didn't vote. You didn't have a rust option. Junkyard = rust Respectfully, geezer
  9. Thanks again, everyone George, I glued strips and pieces of styrene over the Form, gave it a coat of Bondo and sanded it out. The panel lines are scribed. And yes, it does look TOO neat. I will be addressing that
  10. The soda can material was not working out. I don't mind a little rough looking, it will go with the theme of the model. But this is just too cobbled looking. So, I have givin up on the soda can material. I covered the form with styrene and drilled out the over 150 rivit holes and installed Tichy Train rivits. Now, it looks too neat ! Been working on the suspension, and robbed a set of wheels off of an older build that can handle some newer wheels to go with it's Nisson engine . : Here's how I'm handling the radiator mount, but I've modified it since this foto. The front end was sitting too high and I had to change the mount. so those shock brackets are now on the top of the frame.
  11. Nice work, Crank. Your paint jobs are getting better and more artistic each time !!
  12. looking forward to the finish. Clearwater is a dirty old man's paradise. I should get down there more often
  13. Yes it is. believe it to be a small squirrel. Wip fotos are in 'the on the workbench' section. Thanks.
  14. Thank you very much. Everyone ! Zukiholic. I am on dialup, and so, that prompts me to always be considerate when posting fotos. I always reduce fotos I'm posting to 600 pxls on the long side.
  15. She's done and coming out.
  16. When I do a shiney paiint job, I use catalyzed automotive clear. I have heard so much, so long, about Future, which I assume is a floor wax. Been wondering, because I've never heard anyone describe how they apply Future. Do you just rub it on, dip it, spray it ?????
  17. Y'know, as much as I dislike Big Ugly Billit wheels, they work pretty good on a homely car. I guess that's only right ! Dare to be different. Those hood and trunk lids are a neat idea !! Nice work.
  18. The 'Rodent" is finished and has had the first foto shoot. Here's one of it leaving the garage. I don't mean to be a tease on purpose, But for some reason, every foto I took this morning was out of focus ??? I didn't bother to send them to the Fotki. 'Cept for this teaser. I'll reshoot. Watch for it on the finished section. This model turned out too cool to post crappy fotos.
  19. Kinda hated to see the top chopped on that sedan, but for the theme yer after, that's gonna look good !! bring 'em on home !!!
  20. Bringing this back to your attention, boys, because it came out of final clearing looking like glass. It is, so far, fulfilling every thing I had hoped for it. Final assy will be starting and it'll be showing up soon. Thank you all for your interest.
  21. Coupla great looking T's, guys !!!!!! Why they ever chop those tops down and turn them into homely looking toads, ls beyond me. Nice work !
  22. Sometimes I wonder why I start these things and then stick my sorry butt out all over the internet with it ! This is one of those times. Here's where I am now. The idea was to use strips of soda can aluminum over the form. This is proving to be NOT SO EASY !!!!!
