  1. Cool start to what will be an interesting model. I love 'beater' rods. Over carb'd.....Add a blower !!! Imagineering is half the fun of going outside the box. A joy that kit assemblers have yet to discover.
  2. Looking good, Crank. Love the way it sets.
  3. Nice chop ! Great lookin paint !

    Rodney

Along with what I'm posting in 'on the bench', this catches me up. Unknown frame that had to be heavily modified, 29 PU cab. I used the freak FI that was left over from the 41 woody and a couple of Ardun heads on a flathead. Most everything else was ascratched and scrounged. Painted that shiney black twice, and still wish I had left it in primer ! Mono headlight
  5. Nobody has to like it but me. I'm just showing it.
  6. In this chapter, I tackled the skull Here's a mockup, and that's where I'm at now.
  7. here, the body is roughed in. I deleted the drip rails. I will be using this engine that came out of an older build that I tore apart and rebuilt using a flathead. Next, I'm bashing up a frame using some dragster rails and the rearend of a Revell Merc that went prostreet.
  8. It looks like I may be able to pull this off after all. Some may find it interesting. Build came to mind when I found a small squirrel skull in the yard. I'm matching it up with a broken glue bomb 36 roadster body. My first step was to fit a chopped 50 Ford windshield and a convertible top that I want to look like a hardtop. You can see the pie cut that I tried to narrow the top with, but abandoned and put it back, choosing to bring in the side edges. Body and rear end treatment was inspired by this car that was featured in the latest Ol Skool Rodz mag. After some serious cutting and fitting, I'm getting into the ball park.
  9. "Poor thing" NOT! I'd rather see something like this make 1 pass than watch the whole Gator Nationals. These are great, Wolfie!
  10. WAY COOL !!!! A little TLC, and put it back on the strip. Remind John Force what real hot rods used to be !!

    Jeepers

As long as I'm catching up, here's my other recent build. I had a Jeep 4X4 kit given to me. Something out of my genre that I'd never build. In my usual manner, looking thru my junk for something to build, I gathered the Jeep chassis, a 32 body and a PU bed. It was bash and scratch from there.
  12. man, that's kleen! Nice work, Matt.
  13. Thanks, Zukiholic. "The Diorama alone is Veery Cool and Very 1:1 SchaWeeeeeeet!!!! Hard to tell your pics from the Real deal. " Those are compliments I love to hear. I'm pretty sure both of my garage backdrops have been shown here, but if your curious, they're in my DPMCC Fotki under dioramas http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/1/clay_gratz/

    32FORTY

I had scratched a frame to fit a set of 40 Ford fenders, but the idea I had for it soured, so the frame was modified for this coupe. The interior is paneled with some veneer that a cabinetmaker friend gave me. The rear wheel wells were raised to the beltline for the channel. WIP fotos in my DPMCC Fotki: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...orty/page2.html Thanks for looking.
  15. When I first unveiled this I got a lot of mixed reactions. Most of the negative comments were that it was too long. Well of course it's long.... it has two Parts pac Ford engines inline !!!
  16. I haven't posted to the board in quite a while, but I have been busy. I looked at this large homely coupe kit for quite a while before I ran out of other stuff to build. It had to be a hot rod of course !!! I laid back the windshield in a Bonnyville chop, went fenderless in front, and a big A.... (old) engine.
  17. Great looking model, Curt !!!
  18. This post is probably so old, no one will see it. But I finished the 32 build. Thanks for all the previous comps, everyone.
  19. Outstanding !! Idea and execution !! great work. Engine is sweet !!!
