  1. Thats funny Larry because I've always thought of your building as inspirational. Thanks buddy its good to be in the same circle again.
  2. Hey Stuart thanks so much for the commendation . Its always a pleasure when one of our brother builders from the other side of the pond appreciates my work thanks for following along!
  3. The zipper is actually a very small piece of braided hose from Charlie @ ProTech

  7. First off id like to welcome you to the forums, secondly I want to warn you. you wont make many friends here by showing someones else work and trying to put it off as your own I know for certain that the first pic is not your work but is the work one one of the members here Darryl Raper heres his photobucket link to prove it, its the very first picture http://s71.photobuck...i153/tubshouse/ I do believe the other two are pics of his work also. Come on man you can have a better start than this.
  8. Thanks fellas for the compliments but I have a question for ya and your answers will determine how I finish her. Would you like to see the chutes deployed or packed?
  9. Yeah we all do it , I put it down every now and then only to come back to building a lil while later, the first time i quit I thought I was done for good so i sold all my stuff, and threw all my trophys and awards in the trash To this day I wish I hadnt. I had some rare models that I would have a hard time finding today. not to mention some of my early builds that I can never get back. I say just hold on to what you have cause chances are you'll be back.
  10. Darryl its funny you should put this up because just today I was thinking about making my chutes open and hanging on the back of the car. I went to your link and it doesnt work still...
  11. Its still 1/25th Richard , it just happens to fit perfectly
  12. Dave you dont have to say another word , youve helped me out in so many ways on this build. youve been a real mentor Thanks Bro! Tyrone your builds are an inspiration to us all your compliments are always welcomed. Richard and Darryl thank you both for your sincere compliments...... well the weather has gone bad on me again so I had to put off the clear job so I decieded to make the most of my time and get a little creative and make a racing jacket to go in my display. First thing I did was contact my buddy Darryl Raper to get his thoughts on making the jacket and he told me how he did it. So I tried it and failed miserably That said I had to do it my way and this is what I did.... using facial tissue I cut a pattern out to make a jacket that would fit one of the 1/16th mechanics that came with the Garage kit I have.... then taking the sleeve pattern I wrapped it around a ink pen and used Elmers glue to glue the seams together. Then I glued the three vest pieces together on the seams and turn them inside out and glued the shoulders together, once that was done I added the sleeves to the vest to make the basic jacket. Heres the jacket with the collor added and some trim pieces once I had the jacket the way i wanted it with all the trim and stuff added I dipped it in water and positioned it where it will be displayed on the car, I wrinkled it a bit and positioned it the way I want it to appear. Then while it was still wet I rubbed some Elmers glue on it. When the glue dries it will be like plastic and I will be able to paint it and add decals .....Oh its on plastic untill it dries. on the next update I'll have the jacket and a few other things painted up. oh here a lil something I did over the drivers door too, it still needs a lil clean up tho..... cya on the next one.......

Here we are almost a year from the date of start and its comming to a close. Starting from a single piece of brass tubbing to this some 1400 parts later , it been a massive haul . On a project the size of this one you need the boosters every now and then. Thanks again my fellow scale addicts.
  16. Chris I used a fine point sharpie pen to do the outlines. Thanks Ol Buddy I know thats heart felt, lookin forward to seein ya both in AZ.

  19. This is outstanding John I wish i could find the build of the bikes, but i dont think thier on the forum anymore.
  20. nice build , If you going for replica maybe you should redo the ring on the hubcaps they look a tad to wide for scale. Other than that keep up the good work.
  21. John why wait for a show just let me know when your in southern Cali and we'll make arrangements to hook up buddy. Im always happy to meet a fellow builder.
  22. If you did that the chassis wouldnt fit the body anymore because you would actually be building outside the space meant for it.
  23. Bart if you look close the lip of his can is sitting on top of the bottom barthe edge of the lip has been flattened on all four sides, which means the can is sitting perfectly between all four bars. there are no adjustments to be made. the mounting plated will be snug against the chassis ,I suggest you look at the pictures again.
