  7. Thanks fellas for all your support I hope you can follow that tutorial , I was kinda sleepy when I did it. LOL! I got a break in the weather today so I rushed out and got the body sprayed with a HOK Orion Silver base coat and then I topped that with HOK Intercoat clear this is the first step in getting the candy spread on the body. Tonight I'll get the first part of the masking done and tomarrow I'll shoot the first colors. So heres what I have right now. Stay tunned for the next installment of the MAD MODELLER!!
  8. Hey man I like this...I like it alot! love the way you brought the rear end together with the skyline tail lights outstanding work!
  9. Ok now if you look close you can see that i cut a hole down the side of the square tube (i did this by drilling holes down the length of the tube then reaming them out) you will do this only if you want your jackstands to fold if not just drill a hole close to the end near the support bar. I didnt take pics of the process but you need to make a resting bar youll do this by soldering two tubes that will stretch from the resting bar post to just inside the support bar on the square tube.....This will be your lifting bar. Now you have to make a support bar that stretches between the two resting mounts, the bars are also hinged the same way we hinged the rest of the bars earlier. These bars have to be long enough to reach the lifting bars at about the half way point. And at that point you'll want to drill holes in the lifting bars. Now use the rod ends that you got from RB Motion in the lifting bar ends and the two hinged bars you just made to secure it all together. and it should fold like this, if it doesnt fold good just make the hole in the square tube longer untill it does. Heres how it should look once its all completed all you have to do now is add Alclad Chrome and some air hoses. I hope this wasnt to hard to follow along with. Oh yeah I'll show you how to make them stay locked in place tomarrow. Cya on the next update.
  10. Hey fellas thanks for your sincere compliments ...... This update isnt really Part of the car but it is part of my display. I made a couple Projack jackstands at first I just wanted to make them from plastic but this model is heavy so I made them from brass. Also I was gonna make them static but I ended up making them so that they actually fold down so here are the pics for ya.....I also did this in tutorial style and you can do this in brass or plastic. Oh and before I forget Im not giving measurements because they would be differant for other scales , and you might want to get some rod ends from RB Motion Have fun! I wanted to make them both at the same time so I made double of everything..... so start with two hoops like this solder them to the same size tube this is so you will have most of your hinge already made when you start cutting Next you want to cut 4 pieces of tube the smae size diameter as what you used for your hoops. Now solder (or glue if using plastic) these to your main tube like this... At this point you can cut the two pieces apart, Now solder a piece of tube on top of the two pieces that you just added, make sure its big enough for a piece the size of your main hoop tube to fit snuggly into. The black lines are where you will cut these apart later. now get a square pieces of tube and notch it on one end like I have. This is so it will fit over the center of your main hoop. The piece of square tube should be almost to the half way point on your hoop, but not quite touching the top of the last bar you soldered on. Oh by the way you can now cut on the black lines which will give you two seperate parts. Use a pieces of tube just small enough to fit inside so the two parts are now hinged together. Now cut the ceter of the bar out , then cut the small piece thats left over in half, this makes the notches that hold the resting bar inplace, which we will get to in the next part of this update. Also make a support bar from a smaller diameter tube and solder it to the hoop and the square tube as pictured. part 2 comming right up.....

  16. Heres a few final detail pics for ya , still waitin for a break in the weather. Doesnt get cold in So. Cal untill im ready to paint in my garage....Go figure Power and data lines hooked up to the Racepack , shifter lines hooked up, and the steering wheel teather. Was also able to get carbon fiber on some of the rails and header supports made. I did a few other things to but cant remember what, maybe you can spot em. I also had to redo the carbon fiber on the injector hat and today i'll be touching up all the little nicks in paint on the chassis. Because over the course of a year its gotten some wear on it. But for the most part its all in good shape. Oh yeah I started on the display base too..... Just tryin to keep myself busy untill I can get some paint on the body.
