  1. Who says this isn't cool? Too bad it's so nice; I'd actually consider driving this. This car would only come out on special occasions if I owned it; like the AMO meet. Charlie Larkin
  2. But it's a dry heat..... We're gettin' it today. Ick. I'm staying inside with the shades drawn and the windows open and fan on, it's staying tolerable, but not better. Charlie Larkin
  3. Nice job on that, Jim. Charlie Larkin
  4. VERY cool, Sam. Great to see you back. Charlie Larkin
  5. Your brother did some nice builds. Yep, you need to get him going again. Thanks for sharing these, Jim. Charlie Larkin
  6. Nice work on this, Mike. This will be a very nice representation when done. Charlie Larkin
  7. Very nice job on the rack, Curt. Charlie Larkin
  8. What a neat video. One could tell from watching that video that those men took pride in what they were building. I wonder where we went wrong.... Charlie Larkin
  9. What a nice-looking build. And it's held up well. Charlie Larkin
  10. Very nice mild custom, Mark. It looks good in those schemes and the graphics are nice, too. Charlie Larkin
  11. You have my attention. I saw a nice '67 at a car show a couple of years ago in Trumpet Gold with a red leather bucket seat interior. Very sharp. Model Master Champagne is in the ballpark if you want to give it try at duplication. Charlie Larkin
  12. This is truly impressive. Charlie Larkin
  13. Bruce, I've enjoyed watching this come along, and I must say, the results are spectacular. This is a very nice build. Perhaps a couple of outdoors pictures to better show the color might be a good idea? Charlie Larkin
  14. Nice flame job, Mike! Charlie Larkin
  15. Your message is received and point is well-taken. All I can see is this....a well-engineered, well-thought-out product. Moebius has done everything, possible, and let's be honest- that's not too much of a stretch- to give us the model we wanted. Yes, those who called some of the mistakes deserve credit for helping make what was already going to be good even better. Thank you, Dave. And thank you, Dave and Art, for shepparding this project in the manner you have. I think this will be a watershed moment in this hobby. I also think this will up the ante for any future release, from any company. I'm looking forward to getting one of these. And building it. And thoroughly enjoying doing so. Charlie Larkin
  16. I think the Modelhuas' Shaste trailer is pretty close to that trailer in the picture. I'm looking forward to watching this come together. Charlie Larkin
  17. I LIKE this. Charlie Larkin
  18. I have to agree- for subject fidelity, the Galaxie Chevy kits set a high bar. I also like the Monogram/Revell 1959 Chevy and Cadillacs. Those are two excellent models. I also thought from overall appearance and "feel," a lot of the late-1990s AMT kits, like the Edsel and '57 Chrysler 300 make excellent models. I'm looking forward to the Hudson, and the 300. From the pictures, I think we're going to get excellent models that are well-designed and will be joys to build. Charlie Larkin
  19. If you mold those much thinner, they'd warp before the styrene sets while the mold is clamped. Most parts thinner that that are made through extrusion, which is a different process altogether. The best analogy to plastic extrusion is to think of running cake frosting through the tip of the pastry bag. Those parts could then be laser-cut from extruded sheet, but that starts to get expensive, and I'd seriously question the strength of O.007" plastic being enough to hold that hood up. Remember, on the real car, that hood weighs about 250 pounds from what my friends that have restored Step-Downs have told me. And you can be quite sure that while the hood won't have scale-accurate weight (something we should be thankful for, or is that another failing people are going to go silly about?,) it is heavy enough that tissue-paper-thin plastic won't hold it up. If someone wants absolute fidelity, grab the sandpaper like Dan said. Or make them out of brass or aluminum. Those look good to me, and I wouldn't complain at all. Now...if someone wants to show us how to build functioning metal ones....that's a detail I'd be very interested in seeing made, and might even give a shot at. Charlie Larkin
  20. The show is on a Sunday, but you'll be home in plenty of time for school- over by about 3:30-4:00. High school freshmen or college freshmen? I taught business at Twin Valley High School in Wilmington for a semester. Charlie Larkin

Nice to see an X-body done right. Charlie Larkin
  22. Looks nice, Lee. It's nice to see one of these stock. What colors did you use for this? Charlie Larkin

    Smart??

And....where do we sit??? I like this. Someone made a Smart car look good. Those are a nice rim choice, too. Charlie Larkin
  24. This is very nice. Please bring it to MassCar next year. We'd love to have it. Charlie Larkin
  25. One more reason to love Massachuestts... I'll start by writing my state rep and see what we can begin accomplishing. It makes me wonder how they still manage to do the Dead Horse Hill Climb in Worcester every three years. That's essentially a time trial/race up a very steep hill. Although the law cited in the Hemmings article (1915) would explain why the original climb ended in 1915, and why the modern event is limited to pre-1915 cars. Charlie Larkin
