  1. This is coming out very nicely, Mark. I didn't realize those stripes were metallic orange. That looks really nice with the black. Great work. Charlie Larkin
  2. Fourteen bucks for a plate of Spam??? It better be unlimited seconds and served with a whole gaggle of show girls with a private show afterwards for that kind of money! What happened to Vegas being home of the cheap restaurant? Charlie Larkin
  3. I think I have a couple of cars I could enter into this...let me dig around and see what I can find. Charlie Larkin
  4. I was thinking more a a 1964-mid70s Thunderbird tail panel with the lights, myself. Either way, I do like the tail, and overall treatment. I'll watch with interest. Charlie Larkin
  5. I like the cereal box idea. I might give that a shot. Our bread usually has twist-ties on it (which I sometimes strip if I need really thin wire for something.) After my unemployment and my parents' medical bills, our credit is so chewed up, we don't even get the fake credit cards anymore.... Charlie Larkin
  6. We need to stop "spamming" this thread! Ha! I crack myself up! Someone has to laugh at my jokes..... Charlie Larkin
  7. Try Spam with pineapple and raisins sometime, it's actually very good. Charlie Larkin
  8. Allright, I'm in. I'm not sure with what right now, but I'll take a part of this. As soon as I have that figured out, I'll post, Nick. Charlie Larkin
  9. I've heard that when the stuff is warm, it seems to act faster. Five minutes?? Wow. How long was that paint on for? Charlie Larkin
  10. Generally, if the signs are up, the posted price either needs to be honored by law, or the store will honor them as a good-will gesture. Nice work on the sale. Charlie Larkin
  11. I prefer "Evil Woman," myself... Charlie Larkin
  12. I've been able to get lacquers to strip in SuperClean, it takes a while, though. Oven cleaner will also work for lacquers. I've never had luck with brake fluid. Charlie Larkin
  13. #1 with occasional parts-swapping and occasional extra details. My plan for this year is to start learning how to add more things like a little photo-etch, wiring, etc. It's taken me a long time to get to this point, so I'm going to give it a whirl. Charlie Larkin
  14. You, sir, have my attention! I'll enjoy watching this come together, espeically how you convert the Revell '32s. Charlie Larkin
  15. Hmmm...a gasser new Camaro. This could be interesting. Charlie Larkin
  16. I have to agree, that cleared primer does look pretty good. Very nice build on that. Charlie Larkin
  17. Although it might not solve long-distance transportation problems as easily, it does certainly help assuage things a little. That was very generous of him to do that. Charlie Larkin
  18. Why do they say that? The only reason I can think of is the lawyers. If the filter is adequate to handle all that stuff, I wouldn't worry about it too much. While you do want to exercise some caution with an open motor like that, if the motor is staying clean and not getting any paint build-up on exposed wires or contacts, I honestly wouldn't worry too much. The whole key is keep it clean. Cool idea on the parchment paper as a liner. Doesn't Micro-Mark sell something like this, too? Charlie Larkin
  19. That's....painful. At least you weren't in it. This is one of those cases where Craigslist could become your best friend. Charlie Larkin
  20. Nick, was it humid when you painted? With lacquer-based paints, humidity can cause all kinds of problems. Also, if the paint went on a bit heavy, that could cause issues, too. Charlie Larkin
  21. Wow.... That thing looks like Darth Vader should be driving it in black. This is beyond amazing. Charlie Larkin
  22. Boy that came out nicely, Mike. The colors, shape, it all works together quite well. Charlie Larkin
  23. Cool conversion, Steve. Just tell them the car was late production and used a '69 dash! Charlie Larkin
  24. Very nice job on that. Pretty color, too. Charlie Larkin
