Dan, I see the effect on the picture. Very nice. What I think we are all doing is delighting ourselves with the Pearl Ex powders. It's highly addictive for sure, but also it's just a great way of putting more fun into the painting process. There's a real deep (and in scale) sparkle to these powders and it shows on your model beautifully. Thank you.

Rob, I could not be more delighted. I feel the same way. Now I have a couple of new models that I would not have had . . . so it pays to participate in the 3-DAY build madness. -
Whatever it is I am sure was comfortable and rode without any problems forever and every, and everyone looked stylish driving it!

A Feast of Snakes (Two Cobras Are Deadlier than One!)
Dr. Cranky replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Model Cars
Mike, great to hear . . . you will be glad you did. Once you get them, report back and by all means please post your results. You know how we feel about eye candy on this forum. Cheers. You are in for a real treat. -
Fellow Styrene Addicts, I just bough my first copy of the Manx and this kit really has transported me back to California in the 70s, ore so than the vans or the Gremlins . . . it's just one of those things. So I've been doing a little research and came up with this pretty thorough information about dune buggies in general and the Manx in particular. http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/DuneBuggyHistory I think the creation of such a vehicle is very much a part of our culture, although it might not happen much anymore, but usually someone somewhere is working feverishly through the night on a project that might or might not catch our attention. Why do such vehicles begin as a sub-culture niche and then spread like wild fire, transforming themselves through the years into other things?

buying case's of models for cheap
Dr. Cranky replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just got my first single copy and I can't wait to get into it. Usually I buy one and drool over it and if I love it, then I go out and buy a few more. My LHS only had one copy. -
Wow, I love the Merc, which looks totally different from any other Merc I've seen before, not to mention the suicide doors are a great detail. And then the TZH build I think is fabulous. Have you posted it over to here? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52127

Daniel, I hope that Hobby Lobby will carry it, that would be a great deal with the 40-50% off coupons. You bet!

Looking good, Ken. Hey, everybody, remember that those of you making new rounds of progress I will be taking a couple of pictures for the next video update. Stay tuned in and keep up the great work. Here comes the weekend! Yippie! -
Wonderful collection. I loved the first movie, but then dropped out of the franchise quickly after that.

Love it, great dramatic photos too. Thanks for sharing.

Who offers the best mail-order models?
Dr. Cranky replied to Joe Nunes's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I tend to buy most of my models from MODEL ROUND UP. They are highly professional and they always seem to have what I need in stock. Excellent. For kits they don't carry or different subject matter I go with Squadron or Hobby Link Japan.- 26 replies

Thank you all for the kind words. The decals are from a wonderful set of decals that Slixx put out. I just ordered a few more sheet before they close shop. Rom, don't worry there will be more rusty vehicles. You know the stuff runs thick in my blood. -
Thank you, Jim. I think the next one will be midnight blue . . . we'll see, with silver stripes. Or maybe some airbrushed graphics.

Mike, I will have to take a round of pictures in the sun. Stay tuned in for that. Glenn, you will love this kit. Go for it and hopefully it will drive you crazy like it's done me.

Donn, I use the back of a coffee stirrer and load up just a pinch of the powder and mix it into the clear . . . it's that simple. Lately I've been mixing to different kinds of powders to experiment with the effect. Also, if I want to tin the clear and put in a drop or two of the base color or a lighter color.
