  1. Rick, talk about WILD. It's rat infested. Love it. I think what most of us react to in a positive manner about these types of builds is all the stuff that makes you go WOW. Stuff that really shows off, often, a very active imagination. Thanks for sharing these.
  2. Roger, great to have you back again, buddy. I've always enjoyed your work, and you seem to be one of these builders who thrives on making your pictures (by whatever means necessary) super realistic.
  3. Another aspect that I think is interesting (and discussed in a few other threads) is this business of realism in pictures with or without vehicles and people. Here's a picture that I think most people would have a hard time believing this is in fact a diorama, or model, and again comes from the magnificent work of Chuck Doan. (photo courtesy: Chuck Doan) This, I believe, is his most recent build, which I hope you will visit here: http://public.fotki.com/ChuckDoan/model_projects/untitled-half-inch-/
  4. Ira, I'd love to go next year, but if its around the same time, I might have to stay at work. Maybe I can figure something out.
  5. Ken, there's probably quite a bit written about how to use rattle cans for painting not only here, but on the web. I know Pat Covert has a wonderful chapter in his latest book about getting started with spray paints.
  6. Mike, I've never used this product. It looks too grainy for a smooth paintjob, but it might be good texture for a rusty junker or another type of weathered build.
  7. That's looking real good, Jason. Keep it going, buddy. I betcha you are having a blast building this thing!
  8. That first one looks like a great candidate for a resto build.
  9. Ken, the idea is you have to start somewhere. We all have. Read up as much as you can and watch Donn Yost's DVDs and start out with a couple of scrap bodies and just start the way we all did with the rattle cans . . . once you get your stroke and rhythm going, your confidence and practice will start getting you some reliable and constant results. Whatever you do, don't get frustrated. If you start to feel worked up, just walk away for a little bit and come back and start again.
  10. Mike these ARE excellent and highly convincing. Thanks for sharing with us.
  11. Here's some inspiration candy to show that the craze has come a long ways . . . It's a movement that's constantly changing, and it's made a huge impact on the gaming world too: http://www.gameinformer.com/games/rage/b/pc/archive/2011/04/18/new-rage-dead-city-trailer-release-pre-order-bonuses-announced.aspx?PageIndex=2
  12. Thanks for posting this, Skip. I think they really never recovered from the switch from film to digital. I think that was the nail on their coffin a while back.
  13. Michael, welcome to the forum and to the TZH SQUAD CARAVAN. That is one unique camo pattern you got there, and on a great kit too. Keep it going.
  14. Mark, I sure do. And it turned out EXCELLENT. A great addition to the CARAVAN!
  15. I still have to finish mine . . . so many models, so few life times to get them all done!
  16. Jim, the other cameras that I like are Nikons. Anyway, I hope you continue to do research and I am sure the right camera will sing out to you.
  17. It sounds like they are going to have some high end models there, all scratch-built to perfection . . . it'd be interesting to see who and what gathers there. Thanks for posting this, Greg.
  18. I always just say TA-MI-YA!
  19. Erik, that's another nice pictures, and model. I wonder what it would look like if you smoothed out the snow.
  20. Man, it's looking sweet.
  21. Delighted to see a few more folks joining in. It's been raining hard down here in FLA, and I am hoping for better weather so that I can get everything in primer as early as Friday, but we'll see how it goes.
  22. Keep it going, Don, it's coming along.
  23. I'm liking the progress so far. I think you are on your way to building a wonderful little model.
  24. I'm assuming the figure comes with a kit. I had never seen it. Great job on the build and the pictures, thanks for sharing.
  25. All right, folks, a new PROGRESS VID just went up. Remember, if you didn't catch this one, you'll be in the next . . . just keep posting your progress pictures.
