  1. I love these threads because they pick up so much energy, and we see exactly that we are always more desperate for eye candy, which is the reason why I love Chuck Doan's work--whatever he builds, I want to see. There are builders out there that are equally comfortable building a car, boat, velocipide (French pronunciation, please) and god knows what else, but they do it with flair and style.
  2. Terry, I respect of your opinion, but my take on these kinds of article is slightly different in that I welcome the variety. I think it makes us aware of other types of approaches to models. I love tractors, bulldozers, any kind of vehicle that can be weathered, including extreme vehicles the likes of this example done by Ken Hamilton and Pat Covert. I think the variety is what enriches the magazine and by extension makes an impression on us as builders.
  3. Wow, a lot of great wiring. Looking good.
  4. I used to be, so my daily allowance can be sent to another addicted model builder!
  5. It's as cute as a button, as Doctor Cranky would say. I think it's a wonderful little model, and a subject not often seen. I love that grill!
  6. Isn't the Big Kahuna the one responsible for keeping his OHANA fully stocked with Lion's Kona Blend?
  7. Yes, but in the Ohana there could only be one Big Kahuna!
  8. WOW, I'm loving the way these horses are turning out! Keep it going. Take your CRANKY VITAMINS and keep up the great work. These are not machines, they are BEASTS!
  9. Mike, thanks for asking, it's getting released this week from AK-INTERACTIVE USA or http://www.ak-interactive-usa.com/books.html They will have it up on their website shortly. You can also get to their link via my website listed below my sig. Thanks, Chap. PS--As most of us know, car model building books--like the ones by Terry Jesse, Pat Covert, and George B--are out of print and hard to find, so I am really happy this book will offer something different to all the different building levels out there.
  10. Thanks GREGG. The book just arrived on my doorstep, and I actually had to sit down in order not to faint. I love it, and Harry did an amazing job with the design and the layout. We hope people will like it and use it and tell their friends about it! LOL! Just like that old Clairol commercial. It takes one friend to tell a friend who will tell another friend and so on and so on . . . .
  11. Totally agree. Yes, those racing elements would be great to have again.
  12. I never get tired of great looking 41 Willys. Great job.
  13. Love it, love it, love it! Great model! Nice.
  14. Oh yeah, buddy, that gamers stuff adds up quick. And we complain about how expensive model cars are, they are still reasonably cheap compared to a lot of the stuff from GAMES WORKSHOP and FORGE WORLD.

Nice, very smooth, and classy looking model. Great job on the details too. You've got EYEGORE salivatin'!
  16. Great subject, and a great thread. Keep it going. Love the work you are putting into this model.
  17. Has anybody heard from Steve Boutte lately. With the flood in Louisiana, I hope him and his family are doing well. I emailed him today but have not gotten a response. Just wondering if anyone knows how he is doing.
  18. I think MCM is putting out some excellent, cutting-edge articles, and I hope they will continue. Stuff out the beaten path, you know. I also enjoyed Ken Kitchen's article. Lots of great eye candy from the shows too.
  19. I'm loving it. It's going to be a wonderful model. Keep it going.
  20. What a great issue. I love the Hudson Hornet Jairus Watson drawings. I have dibs on the rust primered beauty on Page 32! Oh, wait, how could I? The kit is not out yet. Oh well, maybe I can do the same look with a 49 Merc. Great job on the issue, Harry, Gregg, et al . . . Cheers, Doctor Crankenstyrene!
  21. I agree with Jim, I am already seeing lots to like about this model. Keep it going.
  22. The Stylus is the way to go. I love mine, and it's always the perfect tool for doing rust-throughs, like you see here:
  23. Hum, I think the number is over 100 in the Lab-RAT-ory! Maybe a bit more like 130. But, of course, then there are the ones where something went terribly wrong!
  24. Yes, printminis is a great resource, but you can also clip them off GOOGLE IMAGE and cut and paste them to your word processor and shrink them to scale from there.
  25. WOW, what a beauty. Nice, clean job. This one is a keeper. Love the paint, and all the engine details too! Congrats.
