  1. LOL! I love all the great ideas . . . plenty to return to and do once the painting gets done. These kinds of projects go in layers, as you all know . . . Yes, cheers to the junk, rust, gunk, and funk of it all! TGIF!
  2. Sometimes it feels like I don't, Jim . . . but it's okay, coffee helps . . . coffee and Cranky's mad obsessions to keep on having fun . . . like this:
  3. Here are a few more . . .
  4. All right, maties, everything is in primer now so I too the chance to do one more mock up before the painting starts . . . here are a few pics . . .
  5. A few of you have probably wondered how a vehicle without a driver can make such burnouts . . . we'll we went back and corrected the problem . . .
  6. I've never seen on in person either, although I was there when they released the Gremlin and the Pacer!
  7. Well, if they are still working out the kinks, that would be excellent.
  8. Wow, what a fabulous thread . . . I love it. Great job on that engine and on the body. Can't wait to see it done.
  9. Sure, Harry, and if I opened the garage door this is what you would see:
  10. It's life, isn't it. You have insiders to an industry and then you have consumers in the market. I've always thought of myself as a great consumer, and I sure do love to consume model kits I like. I am still waiting for a new release of a VEGA! Or better yet, a Ford Falcon or a Pinto!
  11. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! More, more, more . . . set the alarm clock for 3am and work until 6am. You can do it, Bill.
  12. Ah, here's a glimpse of Cranky's humble beginnings . . . back when the Lab-Rat-Ory was in a rural, undisclosed location!
  13. LOL! I am just Dr. Cranky @ work in his Lab-Rat-Ory!
  14. Holy smokes, I spent the day spraying Plastikote primer: all three colors: gray, ruddy brown, and black. I have a callous on the top of my nozzle finger. AND the resin on the base is taking its sweet time in drying . . . I guess there will be more progress tomorrow after everything dries and I can get cranking on the painting!
  15. I think most of us outside of the industry will never know how much a kit sells, but I can tell you when the 49 Merc came out already with the chopped top, gee, I must have bought 14 or 18 or 24 of them . . . like the 41 Willys, I never get tired of building it. It provides a great canvas for new paintjobs and styles. I think the Hornet is going to be such a canvas.
  16. Grandpa would be proud! Nice job!
  17. I think it will look great! Don't give up.
  18. Wow, I love that front end!
  19. Can't wait to see you get going on it.
  20. Buddy, it looks like you've been having a blast with this one. Keep going . . . it's just pure fun to watch you go!
  21. Clean, beautiful work!
  22. I know Cranky's already making space on his shelf for at least a half dozen!
  23. Oh I see, for a minute I thought you were having severe CPWS--Cranky Picture Withdrawal Symptoms! Everything is now in primer drying, so painting will begin soon! Stay tuned in for the next episode out of . . . DR. CRANKY'S LAB-RAT-ORY!!!
  24. Clay, all the pictures are in my Fotki archives . . . if you still have a hankering. Most of the time I just post a few here . . . BTW--I am happy to report that the two part resin ooze is flattening down which makes Cranky really happy!
  25. Thanks, Harry, but I am holding my breath in hopes that the resin settles down into the plaster . . . otherwise it is going to look like goop instead of industrial ooze!
