  1. You guys have been very helpful. I've always liked to tinker with the colors, so I might try that Tamiya option. I just fell in love with that Aston Martin color. I am sure this happens to all of you too!
  2. LOL! You've got me on the floor laughing my derriere off, buddy. What a great collection of whackychucky vehicles! Love 'em.
  3. It got my attention because I have never seen such a blue in a car, and then the border of the front grill was painted in a white or buffed metallic of some sort. It's a cool, cool car at 187,000 bucks!
  4. Can't wait, Chuck. Keep 'em coming.
  5. You can see the color I am talking about here, although the one featured on the History Channel was not a racing car: http://www.astonmartin.com/eng/gallery/videogallery
  6. Last night I watched on the History channel all the upgrades they made to this car, but what blew me away was the color. It was the most gorgeous light blue I've seen on any car. Does someone know what color that is, or even better where to find the color number or formula? Thanks in advance.
  7. Happy birthday, chap. Happy building!
  8. Clean and beautiful, buddy. Excellent job!
  9. The other wonderful thing about these kinds of builds is that you can really put your spares parts box to good use. All those unbuilt tanks, airplane, and sci-fi kits come in handy.
  10. I had seen this before posted on this forum . . . I love this kind of build. Armed to the hilt and ready for the Apocalypse.
  11. See, this is precisely the kind of build that gets Cranky cranked up. I had never seen this build before, but it's the poster child of what is totally possible and fun about building one.
  12. I was just talking to Hollywood Jim about how many of these vehicles are around, and builders continue to get excited about building them. Those of you who have built one know how much fun they are, those of you who haven't, it's never too late to get going. I just wish more magazines all over the scene would devote more attention to such builds. To the best of my knowledge I don't think Tamiya or any other magazing (EXCEPT, of course MCM!) has ever done much. These types of builds represent folks who want to push the boundaries in model car building, and who also want to think outside of the box. I often think about Pat Covert and how one of the builders who influenced him to build WW3 vehicles is Kow Yokoyama, Japan's most famous model designer and builder.
  13. It's turning out very well.
  14. Wow, you guys have added a whole bunch of great new models to the scene. Thank you all for the great eye candy. This is what enriches the show tables all over the country.
  15. Hollywood Jim has been busy commanding the amazing caravan of post-apocalyptic vehicles out there . . . THANK YOU Jim for creating such a wonderful archive of WW3/Post-Apocalyptic vehicles. You make Tommy May proud! Not to mention that you have Cranky salivatin' at the bench! http://public.fotki.com/shrimpee/misc_model_car_stuff/world-war-3/
  16. I've always said it, the Revell 41 Willys is hard to beat as one of my favorite kits, and this build is yet more proof. Wow, you are going to end up with a gorgeous model. Keep it going.
  17. I like it. It's really the only contemporary car I would buy.
  18. What kind of flakes do you use?
  19. A rat rod named "Royal Flush" and if you know Cranky you know what's in store in terms of "royal" seat!
  20. It's a clean, well-built model. I like it.
  21. I have an Iwata portable compressor and a huge DeWalt in the garage, which gives me all the air I would ever need.
  22. I'm really liking that paintjob. Love the colors too. Keep it going, you are making wonderful progress.
  23. ONE WORD: GORGEOUS!!!
  24. I am loving every step of this build. Fabulous work with the frame.
  25. Looking good, I love the colors and the paint job . . . keep it going.
