Here are a couple of pics of the two I'd like to finish now:
This one is called THE POLYNESIAN MERC
This one is ENVYLICIOUS:
Yes sir, gotta finish 'em this year.
Thanks, Gary. I like these two so much I am going to return to a couple of earlier Mercs and finished them. Now that I am rather intimate with all the little tips and tricks to get these suckers to sit just right. If you build these with the custom skirts you will need to modify the rear suspension and it doesn't hurt to cut down the front one too. Just so that the wheels sit perfectly.
Here are a couple of more . . . these look bathed in maple syrup!
The fenders were stripped of their chrome and then reshot in metalizer paints.
I've built about a dozen 49 Mercs since it came out almost two years ago, and I think after the next dozen I should be familiar with all the kit's kinks and qwerks.
Oh what a pair!
LOL! You can guess where some of the paint chipped off around the back windshield, right?
You can't tell here, but if you saw these two in sunlight, they'd be ablaze with flake sparkle!
Marcos, one of these fine days I will return to the NNL East. I loved it the first time I went. Next time I go I will bring a whole bunch of stuff to display.
Thanks for all the comments. I'm back on track finishing both Mercs . . . stay tuned in for pics . ..
I had to adjust the wheel base on the second one so that everything would fit, but it means it's slowed down the progress.
Stay tuned in for more progress later in the day.
Here is one of the beasts . . . I still have to fix and add a few more things, but I wanted to see what it was going to look like already assembled . . .
