  1. This looks great!!! I like the custom touches like the rear valance and the hood scoop. those headlights really set this thing off for me, those look awesome. this is my favorite year of the el camino and this one is pretty cool.
  2. that looks really nice. It reminds me of a 1:1 Pickup truck bed dolly if it were a little narrower. great idea for a paint or body shop diorama.
  3. that skeleton is awesome and fits in perfect. I think that is going to be the centerpiece of this car unless you have some other tricks up your sleeve and I think you might we haven't seen whats going the trunk yet.
  4. DHL yellow in a spray can I am not sure. what I would do is find some shades of yellow that you think are closest to the color you want and just do some sprayouts on a piece of paper and compare them and choose the closest color. It would be easier if you had an airbrush than you could mix the color do a sprayout compare than keep adding color until you got it right which is a little difficult but you could achieve the pretty close match. If you get the color pretty close most people aren't going to notice the difference. I didn't understand color and imperfections in paint until I went through auto body school and I probably wouldn't know the difference (if it was close) unless I had a dhl color paint chip and your finished car out in the sunlight where you can see the true color. hopefully that helps you thats the best I can do. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I like the idea you have and I would like to see it turnout.
  5. nice clean build. So are saying you used the 86 el camino choo choo kit and it came with the stock nose in the kit? Personally I prefer the stock front valance over the monte carlo one on the el camino.
  6. I'd prep like you would paint a 1:1 car and use automotive primer paint and clear if your really serious about the model. If you like the contours and you don't think you would need to smooth anything out on the body you could probably sand it down starting with 600 grit and work your way up to 800-1000 grit with an orbital sander (In the areas where you can't get with an orbital sander or if you don't have an orbital sander use a grey scuff pad making sure to evenly sand the body so the whole thing has a dull finish and sand all the decals off (otherwise the paint may lift) clean the body with a degreaser then seal it, paint and clear it. Thats how I would probably do it. hopefully that is some to you.
  7. wicked cool!!! I think your fade from yellow to red is the best I have seen on a model. very nice paint work.
  8. cool concept man. I like those wheels and it sure has plenty of grip those are some wide treads in the rear. I like it.
  9. excellent man thank you I perfectly understood you. wow your builds must get a little pricey than if your using automotive paint and clear that stuff is expensive, but your builds turn out really nice I am sure. when you use automotive paints is your base color waterbased or solvent based?
  10. great looking car and obviously well built. Thats awesome that its still around after all those years. Love these sedans dropped with the steelies like that its just looks nostalgic and right to me and what a great platform for a hot rod. Thanks for sharing that, thats awesome!!!
  11. wow!!! That body looks great as does the rest of the car. What type of paint and clear did you use if you don't mind me asking? Black is the hardest color to hide imperfections especially with all that shine but it looks like you suceeded with flying colors. Great work!!!
  12. man this is a great idea I guess I never thought about making coe out of a pickup. I will be watching to see how you do that hood though. I think that would be pretty tricky. excellent work and what a great idea!!!
  13. love your Buick GSX man!!! The picture perfectly complimants the paint.
  14. Hey Mike that looks good is it spotty at all? That is the problem I ran into using testors transparent window tint it wasn't a nice even coat, it was pretty spotty I ended having to spray it till I got a run and then I would just run it right off the window to get it to look even.
  15. WOW!!! This is an awesome build, can't wait to see the finished product.
  16. Ravens!!! I'm big fan of their defense. Its gonna be a really good game like the last one but I hope the ravens come out on top this time.
  17. nice truck!!! I like the standard short box chevy trucks I wish more of them were made instead of the stepsides. love that big 572 as well nice work!!!
  18. Wow, I thought you actually shrunk a real superbird. that engine compartment is unbelievable!!! Excellent work you have quite the talent!!!
  19. These are a couple of my first builds that I can remember that are still on the shelf. I built them when I was probably around seven years old. I replaced the wheels on the camaro a couple years back.
