The reason I use the word "build" as a noun is to distinguish between a bunch of pieces in a box and those same pieces after they've been painted and assembled. All languages are constantly developing, for better or worse and I think in this case it's for the better because it helps clarity. And there are many cases of verbs doubling as nouns, eg. race, bet, sleep. (Having said that, I must admit that I resisted the useage for a year or so until it became established.)

That's me. So far I've bought 5 old boxes at an average of $10 a pop but it would be many more if I had a deeper wallet. Of course I would rather get the whole kit but then it would get really expensive. This Little T is a good example: I also keep the nicest boxes when I've built a model.

Of course these will be familiar to most of you but I think they belong in this thread...

Another one I built as a kid. Couldn't afford to buy this original issue again at today's prices so I just bought the empty box. (Yes, I know, but I'm getting treatment.)

A few favourites from my stash. I built these these three Fords in 1962 when I was 12. Loved the artwork then, still do and bought them all again recently. More to come.
