  1. Oh yea...I forgot about that horrible J Car! I had one too; my first IMC kit. It was scrapped for parts about an hour after I (sort of) built it. I recently bought another one; this time it will be done up right.
  2. Years ago, I was one of the many tempted by this beautiful box......we all know the rest of the story
  3. Not a pic of the contents, but this should give you an idea re the simplicity
  4. The Pacer will be buildable stock, it has the 6 cylinder engine, and the box art shown in Gerry's post above is the one they're using
  5. Yes, the '67 Camaro annual has the Apache wheels. The '71 Monte Carlo annual has them too. There may be others.......
  6. That question would best be answered by Round2
  7. There were plans to reissue the Honda ATC90, but I'm pretty certain it was cancelled.
  8. Yup. I don't have a '65 Fairlane annual or the T310 reissue (yet), but this little beater cost me five bucks (the A pillar is missing on the passenger side).
  9. Yes, we know that. I was referring to the fact that most of the Modified Stockers were heavily butchered annuals, The Chevelle, however only contained the body from the original annual (Craftsman) kit. The rest of the original bits could exist somewhere, but I doubt it.
  10. Yes, they have the tooling for all of the Modified Stockers if you include the "restored" GTO that Ertl tried (and failed) to return to it's former glory years ago. Like Snake said, they're all just too far gone. It would take way too much $$ to bring them back, and they wouldn't release a half-baked effort like the aforementioned GTO. The only one I sometimes wonder about is the '65 Chevelle. Back in the day AMT seemingly used the body from the Craftsman kit for the stocker (and the funny car as well) and tossed the rest. Probably scrapped years ago, unfortunately.
  11. If you don't mind going the curbside route I think the beige promo is easier to find than the kits
  12. Yes...an old Lindberg kit; but the Scale Model News review suggests that the Rat Rod is based on a T pickup. It's actually this oldie with new photoetched parts and decals
  13. Pretty sure #5165 was only reissued once as #T310 (1968-69?) After that came the Modified Stocker.
  14. How about a rare version?
  15. Yes. Corrected by Lindberg when they fixed the wonky cowl
  16. The AMT '62 wheels were similar, but these are freshly-tooled buy Round2. A closer look at the new one:
  17. The mags are new; the same ones that were tooled for the Lawman Plymouth. I believe the only other revision are some spacers provided to raise the suspension and some optional rear tires (slicks as used on the Lawman)
  18. I was told a few months ago that it would be a reissue of this kit with the Stooges packaging.
  19. Yes..that makes sense. Something that doesn't show up in my top photo is a very faint suggestion of a border surrounding the Bonneville lettering on the rear quarter of the BC body, as if an insert was added to the tool.
  20. They are indeed checking on this; my Buyer's Choice kit will be in John G's hands tomorrow. I snapped a few quick pics of my Prestige (white plastic) and Buyer's Choice (grey) kits. Sorry if the pics are a little off...just quickies before I packed them up. I also noticed something else typical of the RC2 era; the Buyer's Choice box art kit wears vintage AMT redline Firestone Supremes mounted on MPC(!) 8-lug wheels, neither of which are in the box. Something you won't see happening with Round2.
  21. I repeat....my Buyer's Choice Bonneville looks identical to the Prestige Bonneville. Fender badges, upholstery, fluted rocker trim, grille etc etc. FYI...I opened a Prestige Bonneville, a 2+2 and a Buyer's Choice Bonneville and compared all three.....
  22. The Bonneville lives. I knew I had a "post-2+2" issue of this kit somewhere in my stash. Sure enough, it's the 2004 Buyer's Choice issue. I took a quick look; the body, interior, grille, dash, rear trim panel etc are identical to the Prestige Bonneville. To my naked eye, they're the same pieces...like the 2+2 never happened.
  23. It wasn't just rumor or speculation. They wanted to do a Demon based on the new-tool '71 Duster. The kit was postponed indefinitely (not cancelled) at about the same time an announcement was made re it's release. It might make an appearance some day. it might be dead and buried, nobody knows. This was the point of my original post......nobody knows. Just something to keep in mind when somebody tells you "Here's what I heard...."
  24. Absolutely correct. One thing "our herd" doesn't realize is the fact that we are a relatively small portion of the market. There are a bunch of model buyers out there who don't know the history of the kits, don't subscribe to modeling mags, don't know these message boards exist etc etc. Yes...hard to believe, but it's true. If they buy a kit and are disappointed, they may complain to the Michaels/Hobby Lobby folks....the same folks the manufacturers hope will be receptive when they're deciding which kits they want to bring to market....this includes any $$$ that has to be spent to make an old tool production-ready. And I'm 99% certain the '72 GMC Stepside tool isn't just sitting in a corner somewhere in pristine condition.
  25. Before you get too upset with FCA/Chrysler re licensing issues....the '71 Demon episode had nothing to do with licensing (nor is the lack of a '71 Road Runner reissue). Just another case of someone who heard a rumor/speculation from someone who heard it from someone else....then it winds up on the internet, where everything is irrefutably true.
