  1. This is from a collection I bought this past week. I think the kit is more than 10 years old.
  2. I tried Dawn spray to clean them. After I washed off the soap and dried tham they were still tacky. My wife suggested baking soda (powder?) since it is an abrassive. I put some on a wet paper towel and scrub for a short time. Washed off and dried. Still tacky.
  3. Sorry I should have been more clear. It looks to be rubber resin since these are softer than hard resin.
  4. I have some resin cast 1/12 tires and the have a sticky film on them. Any ideas to remove this?
  5. I just got the Renwal kit and saw there were the Revell GTB on the 'bay.
  6. I made a .020 template and taped it to the body. Then used the Tamiya pin scriber to make the do line. I like this scriber because it doesn't jump out of the line once it is started.
  7. I always wondered if this car ever had a blower. Looks like it did based on the aboe pic.
  8. Mike it is working this morning. Not sure what was going on yesterday.
  9. That's what I painted mine.
  10. I did finish stripping the body ttoday. I will reprime it to start fresh.
  11. Thanks Steve. I will try your technick for the Primer Sealer. Usually i only put a couple of coats. But I will go back and put 5 coats on the Rambler. Then try the color again.
  12. I guess I thought the thinner made it dry too fast and that is why I got the roughness. It does sand easily but i was hoping for an easier path.
  13. I decanted some BIN sealer yesterday. I added some 70% alcohol n a 2 to 1 ratio. I sprayed it but it came out really ruff. Do you have to thin the aerosol after you decant it?
  14. Thanks Dave. I do use an Oil-less compressor plus 2 water seperators. 1 at the Compressor and 1 close to the Air Brush.
  15. Could it be I am putting it on too thick? I using my medium needle in my air rush which I use for every pint I have ever sprayed.
  16. I am not thinning it. It sprays fine out of the can.
  17. Dave it could be craters like you said. They look like fish eyes but seem to be deep too. I should have taken picks to show every one.
  18. I have use both the Testors Wet Look clear and Tamiya Lacquer decanted with no problems through my setup. The fisheyes aren't all over the car. Just a spot on the hood.
  19. Another note is I have been using Splash 2K clear and have never had any issue like this. I use the same process for both. The fish eyes have happened both using my setup and my buddies. Both times the 1K was decanted then sprayed from my air-brush.
  20. Just to confirm you haven't had any fish eyes when you shot it from the can?
  21. I have been using this paint decanted on several bodies. I like the results but I have gotten a few fish eyes in a few places. Not sure why? Any ideas?
  22. I agree. The DC-8 cargo plane was beyond belief. I was glad to be part of that diaroma.
