  1. Is that the flex plate still bolted to the torque converter ??? Impressive !!!
  2. Any more for us ??? He will probly have to get them printed by someone who can swap them left and right. I'm betting on the real truck they lean forward on both sides.
  3. The screen printing explanation really brings it into focus, Again, I'm not worried about the art work its self, but can something be hand drawn or is it the inkjet that produces the effect for the acid to work against? Do you know if a photo copy printed out would work? Thats what I was thinking when I first seen that set up, but I'm wondering how much I would really use it now. I must be getting old, I've never had a problem buying a tool to use just once in the past.. If I was going into a full scratch built project like I've seen in the few Model car Mags I've got, then its the way to go.
  4. I was going to wait till I got a new camara to post anything this year, but I'm not sure when that will be. So I thought I would so this anyway. Its about 80% done. All but a little more engine details and finish the steering. I didnt like the plastic tires that it came with so I found some in the parts bin for the rear and I wasnt happy with the front wheels either. After asking around for other option ( great responces were given out) I found I still had an old testors t bucket kit with a good set of wires and rubber tires. The finish is not the "Gold" that was shown in the book that came with the kit, but I liked the looks of this better on it anyway. Its a GM rattle can color. It really comes to life with a good black washing I also didnt really agree with the purple engine or seat cover, so I went with a deep red instead. It plays off the red plug wires and seat belts I'm building for it. Once I get a better camara I'll get some better pics of the inside and out. Thanks for looking I'm kinda digging the "movie car" build, Its real easy to not get caught up in to much thinking. It's given me plenty of practice on good building tech, and a little scratch building, but not to much to get tired of it and struggle to see the end of the road.
  5. Are you going to decant that paint for your airbrush? Dont those cans spray pretty good when they are warmed up? My self I like the easy clean up of a rattle can, but you can get a really nice finish with an airbrush. Does that kit come with any white stripes to go with the white inside. That would look killer on that purple.
  6. You guys rock !!!, thanks a ton. Should give me plenty to do in town. I've been to both Elephants, and was very pleased with the selections. They didnt have much as far as supplys but great kits.
  7. I'm going to Spokane for a meeting in a few weeks, and was wondering if anyone knows of any good spots for models besides White Elephant. I noticed a new Hobbie Lobby in the vally when I went to Idahoe a wile back but I want ble to stop. Anyone ?
  8. I have no worries about the art work, I guess its one of those take home and play type of things to see if it will work out. I dont do alot of full custom scratch building, so I'm now wondering if I should just buy photo parts that are already available as I need them.
  9. I picked this up a wile back, havent started it yet as I'm not sure where to go with it. Cant wait to see yours take off..
  10. I was under the understanding you use your printer and the laminator that comes in the kit? I guess one could buy a lot of odds and end PE parts for the 125 bucks this thing costs.
  11. I picked up the new 1/16 scale hoping to do a similar build, Great job, Very good building techniques. And very clean.
  12. Has anyone used one of these? Is it more pain the gain? Price isnt to horrid if it works ok I guess. I guess the process is pretty simple but I wondering how much work is needed to get a good pattern to start with.
  13. Sounds like you need to find a new place to go my friend... The first transmission class I had with Chrysler acadamy showed this ...half of us were looking at each other like , the other half were talking like they had worked on those " back when"....good stuff none the less.
  14. Outlet also, but I'm motivated to create by my own failures
  15. The cars and and the products they are made from are changing more offten then you think. I'm sure the people who design and test said vehicles get paid pretty handsomly to do so, not to mention certification costs, then you have to put them all together. Thats all got to be paid for somehow right? And they dont expect to sell every single vehcle made at full sticker price right? So the first 2/3 of the lucky public gets to make up for the last to go on sale. This could go on for ever, but it would start to get pretty politcal, which is a no no. Its just stupid how fast the value drops, proves right there that your not just paying for the sheet metal up front.....except for jeeps and old toyotas for some reason those things never seem to get very cheap..
  16. I dont know how much of that was "whos stronger"...A big enough brick wall would probly stand up pretty well also, but the point is, the driver of the 09 has a better chance of walking away. Which goes back to that big price tag.
  17. We have a customer/friend at the shop with a sweet tooth for fast cars, Hes bought a SRT8 Challenger, Camaro, Viper, SS T-blazer but I think the funnest car he has in his stable is his 2006 99k mile 6 speed Caddy CTS-V, Its got just the right amount of broke in feeling in the seats and it really like to be spanked.
  18. Should have gotten a Chrysler
  19. There is a reason why "They dont make them like they used tah" as they say. There is a video on youtube somewhere that shows gm crashing a 59 chev I believe with a 09 or 10 malibu. Shows how far they have come...not so much the "tin cans" people make new cars out to be. Here is the crash video
  20. The new new "Call of duty" Jeep is 49k+. V6, with black stikers and wheels...Just stupid money for a vehicle We had a guy order a new Rubican and had it droped shipped to A.E.V. for a HEMI conversion.. 86k out the door for a JEEP !!!!!
  21. Thats was a pretty interesting story, Even Jay leno didnt want to pay full sticker for a 4 year old car.. I dont know why he would think its even close to being totaled though. The whole things just goofy, guess thats why they say there are three sides to every story, " yours, mine and the truth"
  22. Nope !!! I've never put my brand new $200k Lambo over the curb and 25 yards into a field.. Thats pretty far for a car to run, after coming over a curb I'm guessing sideways..a little far for 40mph anyway. Maybe I'm wrong though
  23. Not us ...... Utahs finest. "The police report says the car went over a curb, off the road and 75 feet into the field, calling the accident "speed related."
  24. Has nothing to due with Ebay, Paypal is used for tons of sellers. I dont have any accounts set up to sell so I have not gotten a letter like this from payapl. I would have to say you will get it lifted soon.
  25. Even Chevrolet remembers how "Cool" and "American" they were.....maybe they should bring that back too...
