  1. We are in the process of building up a new web site. Our old site (cpmcc.org) was built by a professional designer, but he has since been drawn away to other obligations and the site is not manageable by our existing members beyond some simple updates to events, etc. Further, the server apparently has serious issues, going dead for days at a time. So, the new site, http://www.freewebs.com/cpmcc/ is designed to be a resource to both our current membership, prospective members and others interested in CPMCC activities. I'd like your feedback on usefulness and ease of navigation. It is admittedly much more basic than our previous, profesionally designed site, but considering the skillsets of the guy who put this one together, it ain't bad.
  2. Here's the barracuda in DupliColor Cayenne red metallic over gray primer. I cleared it, but will hold off polishing and waxing for a while. And here's that goofy Firebird spoiler resting in place. I think it works with the rest of the car's lines. I hope to get some bench time this week to play with the engine and interior. Shots of those later.
  3. You just want me to actually finish something, don't ya! If you painted it, people would be mislead into thinking I was getting good at this, when in fact I know better. I will be at the CPMCC meeting Saturday, and I will have the Barracuda in whatever stage of completion I get it to. The body ought to be in color and ready to polish and foil by then, at least...........hmmm...I don't see anyone volunteering for that part, now do I? Oh, and I will ALSO have a batch of chili for the holiday party!
  4. Yeah, well. Um...I mean, uh. Wait...I got it! I was so impressed by yours, that I still see it in my mind's eye whenever I approach my bench, and that I fear any effort on my part wil pale in comparison to such a degree, at least at this stage in my develoment as a hobbyist, that it would be an insult to you to apply anything less than my best effort. Ergo, I have decided to polish my rudimentary skills and revisit the basics of model building before venturing back into my virtual, 1:25 scale Dearborn Tube with anything less than the quality of craftsmanship you so richly deserve from my attempt to match, nay...approach the level you exhibited with yours, the most beautiful Thunderbolt I have ever had the joy to see.
  5. I was going with black, but chickened out. I'm going to get it in primer right now, and then sift through my DupliColor stash for something.
  6. 1969 Barracuda, intended as a quick build just with what came in the box. Of course that didn't fly once I got into it, so I added a Firebird rear spoiler (which you can't see here since it's black), the rallye wheels from the Nash Bridges 'Cuda, a little roll bar bracing, separate bucket seats from the parts box, stripped the chrome from the bumpers and added pins to which to attach aluminum tube exhaust tips. I have a gorgeous Parts by Parks air cleaner to top off the 383 and I've prepped the engine for wiring. Other than that, it's stock. I don't know when I will complete the thing, but I want to try to get it done in a couple weeks. I go back to work Monday and hope to have everything painted so I can concentrate on assembly over the coming week. I did originally plan to use Pegasus Halibrands, but as I got thinking about it, I wanted something more traditional "Saturday Night Hellraiser"...you know; a glove box full of speeding tickets, other guys' titles, girls' phone numbers, my attorney's business card, etc. 8)
  7. Wow! Don't worry about your english. You do better than many who call it their first language. Besides, talent is universally understood! What a beautiful truck!
  8. I really like the color scheme and wheel and tire combination, but the quiet details like the windscreen are most impressive.
  9. That looks great! Everything "works". The stance, paint, level of detail... and that engine...yikes!
  10. That's just too cool! Nicely done!
  11. What I see here is a study of all the best techniques applied to one project. Outstanding workmanship; everything appears crisp and well-executed. Other than that, I guess it's alright. You know, if you like that sort of thing.
  12. Irv, Please take lots of nice crisp in-progress shots for us! I'd love to feature this in Classic Plastic! Looks like another fantastic build coming from the House of Arter.
  13. Uh...um...well...uh...Dang! That is sick!! But in a good way!!!
  14. Welcome! Good to have ya on board!
  15. Verrrrrry pretty Buick! Glad your universe is settling down enough for you to be able to get back to the bench.
  16. Bitchin' tub, Lyle! Here's mine...same general era, different spin.
  17. A theme...well in that case, remember to double space, indent and watch your punctuation! Great work, Mark!
  18. I may take a whippin' over this one, but pleeeeeeeeeez go back to the original wheels you posted at the beginning. I love TTs, but they are literally everywhere and IMHO they don't compliment your work the way the first ones did.
  19. You definitely have the touch, Jeff. All of your work is outstanding--and amazing! We missed you at the September Showdown...probably had a trophy or two with your name on it. Hope to see you at the November CPMCC meeting. Remember, it's auction time!
  20. You are SICK! But in a good way. That's some oustanding scratch building.
  21. Hey Gerry! Glad you're here!
  22. So, they come with the rake already installed?! I thought A/R stood for "American Racing", only to find it's for "Arter Rake".
  23. Not a bad list, even if it is heavy with re-issues. There are a few in there I really am looking forward to.
  24. I must compliment you! It's easy for some guys to load a kit with aftermarket parts, but the basics of construction often get left out. You, on the other hand, used the parts to compliment and enhance your skill level, not compensate for it. Darn fine looking big Ford. And Pro Street? Dead? Maybe, but heaven help me I still love them!!
