  1. Ever notice how "subtle changes" isn't interchangeable with "minor changes"? You made some major subtle changes there, and dadgummit, I really love the color combination. Nice, clean and crisp work!!
  2. But Tom, then it'd be againstum instead of forum.
  3. Nicely done, Mr. W! It must be too early or something...it took me a minute or two before I figured out Anna's last name. Finally this thing  went on.
  4. Thanks for the analysis of the kit's flaws. I would be irritated having to correct all these problems on a $10 kit, but on a $35 (or more!) item, I'd be furious! Don't do too good a job on it! I'd hate for Trumpeter to see it and think they did a fantastic job on the kit!!
  5. I can count the number of times I've seen those in the box one one hand, and the number of times I've seen them built up on one finger! Nice work on both! The race car technology has come a long way since then, but these represent my favorite era for sure!
  6. This is what I was missing! In-progress updates from Bill! Man, each post is like Christmas morning!
  7. Thanks for sharing the photos, Tommy. I was there with my CPMCC clubmates, and had a BLAST! Before I left Saturday night, I was already looking forward to next year.
  8. I like them both! 8 years, huh? Glad to see somebody finishes projects even slower (but not my much) than I do.
  9. Very nicely done!!
  10. Uh, a few words of warning to anyone who is not yet familiar with Bluemoose's work: They are scale models, the paint work is neither still wet nor edible. He is probably human like the rest of us, but that is as yet unconfirmed. Welcome Bluemoose!!
  11. Looks Like Reliable Resins. I remember seeing them posted elsewhere a long while back and saw some live at a show Don attended. http://www.reliableresin.com/
  12. Well thank gawd it isn't another bloody Thunderbolt! Very cool looking ride, and the engine detail is nicely done. The Accel coil (and I've used them on a model or two of mine) is an excellent add to a racey car engine bay, but am I the only one who sees them as drastically out of scale? I mean 1/25 to 1/24 is barely noticeable, but I'm thinking it looks more like 1/20.
  13. Psssst...Lyle. It's not just you. Congratulations on your nomination.
  14. I think in the interest of world peace, the two similar yet completely separate events are the way to go. I think, especially after reading posts here, that overall nobody wishes an "us and them" thing to develop. Frankly, I would be disappointed in all involved to find that on either board. Lord knows, I'm an "us" and still a "them" and proud of it. I'd hate to have to pick sides--or worse, become collateral damage from the fallout. You go, John. I think the thpring thaw is a thwell, er...swell idea.
  15. You raise a good point, oh obsessive one. With the possible exception of the clunky and awkward treatment of the headlight trim (engraved somewhat poorly IMHO--it shoulda been a separate chrome part), this kit is simply outstanding, and the subject is no slouch either. I, too, find it interesting that it doesn't seem to have a greater presence on show tables. And why did this seem so quick to hit the checkerboard boxart shelf at WalMart? Is it the front end detail? Is it the perceived difficulty of applying the stripe decals properly? Is it a matter of "If you've see one B-M Camaro, you've seen e'm all? Is it a matter of the add-on gadgets and gee-gaws, like side pipes and spoilers not appealing with gen2 fans? Is it a matter of me having no clue that the perhaps the 2nd generation F-Body bowtie just can't compete with gen1 stuff?! Is it a matter of the pre-painted version stealing the glue kit's thunder? Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust curious. I would have thought the kit would have set sales records just based on the engine and wheels being prime kitbash fodder.
  16. I hesitated at first to post these, because they really seem to bug people. I just can't get a break around here to get things moving again. 1964 GTO the license plate will read "HYNMYTY". And yeah...it's got a hemi. A little Camaro Weekend Warrior Action. Some of the parts...gawd, I hope I can still find them. Bantam Blast There are more...but I can't bring myself to go on. I will not even post the TBolt until I make some more progress!
  17. Don't worry...relax and you won't feel a thing. LOL!! Actually, the Dream Cruise is a parade of street "legal" models posted as homage to the famous Woodward cruise. Mr. Dezan can fill you in on the details. It's at least as wild as the real thing, only without the smell of burning rubber and racing gas.
  18. I'd never join a clique that would have me. Or something like that. Thanks for the kind words about the newsletter. A-gain. (You have to imagine Forrest Gump saying that "a-gain" for the full effect) Careful fella...it almost sounds like you were you gushing...
  19. I love that rod! Minimal windscreen is approriate, as all the bugs would get drawn into those velocity stacks! (I hear locusts and cicadas generate an eerie green smoke on the way out! LOL!) Welcome...and trust me, the format does not take too long to become second nature.
  20. Welcome! I'm a recent addition here, too. I like it, and I'm actually getting used to the format. The people here are outstanding!
  21. Stalled projects? Why, whatsoever do you mean? Who could start something and not finish it? I'm aghast and appalled at the mere thought.
  22. I have to ask the question... Does your model bench feature a low power microscope and a series of magnifying glasses? And do you have to wash your hands in really hot water to get them to shrink small enough to build this wonderful stuff?! Or do you cheat and hire little tiny pixies with engineering degrees? My dad was a precision machinist and was fascinated by close tolerance, finely detailed and accurate anything. He would have loved your work. He would have said "That's some good work there, kid. Ya done good." You have no idea what high praise that would have been. It's one thing to detail, and it's another to make something small and apparently true to scale, but doing both borders on witchcraft & wizardry.
  23. I know what you're doing, fella! You're trying to trick me into completing something!
  24. That, my friend is not the problem with about 5 sitting around...I need to buy the time to sit down and git 'em done! And of course, I have three major site installations to manage through Labor Day...it isn't looking good for summer. I would like to get as far as painting the bodies though while the weather is cooperating. Trust me, nobody wants these blankety-blank things done more than I do.
