  1. Sorry you couldn't make it. Hope you're feeling better.
  2. Cruz, it's gorgeous!! Any plants for a Pinto to stage in the next lane?
  3. By the way, did you ever get your Chevy gasser back? The one that looked so lonely after you and most everybody else left the picnic? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?
  4. I meant to add a "First Responder" class, but along with all my other brilliant ideas, that didn't happen, but the ambulances will be right at home in Light Commercial, and the heavier fire apparatus can wheel into Heavy Commercial. I'd love to add the class for next year. Rag on the guy at the registration desk about that when you see him Sunday! :-)
  5. Thanks Lyle...I've been too wrapped up in other stuff to post the reminder. Thanks!!
  6. Not bad. However I could clearly see a muffler clamp, driver side aft, has not been torqued properly. I should think the rattling at idle would drive you nuts.
  7. More of a maybe than a no. It's not far for me to get to the H-town, but weeknights are a challenge. Home by 6 or so, in bed by 9, at work the following morning by 6. Regardless, I'm definitely interested. Got a name in mind? Howzabout RAMA? (Reading Area Modelers Association) Pretzel City Model Club? Coller's Car Crafters?
  8. As long as it isn't the 1st or 3rd Saturday or the 2nd Friday of the month and I don't have to do a newsletter and web site...
  9. I was working a trade show in Baltimore last week and stumbled across a display of fire trucks and related emergency vehicles elsewhere in the hall. It appeared to be a mix of plastic kits and die-cast, but I was particularly fascinated by the models with balsa wood bodies! There aren't many photos because I was supposed to be working, and some are less than razor sharp because I'm still learning the nuances of operating my new little camera. These fellows had some very cool stuff on the tables!
  10. Man! There's something so wrong and so right about that build, all at the same time! Outstanding work!
  11. Looks like another great meeting, Lyle! Thanks for the pics. I really need to get down there again soon. I feel like a MAMA poser, carrying a card and not getting to more meetings...(sniff)...please forgive me.
  12. It is probably a bit of a haul, but the Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club meets just outside York, PA on the firstest Saturday of each month, except on some Saturdays when we meet off site for a special occasion, like the August picnic and stuff. We do have a couple guys who live in the W-B area. Check us out on the web.
  13. I know there are decal making "kits" available for shlubs like me, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a "professional" (I think there's a fellow in MI) who will consider making small runs of custom decals, and in what format the artwork should be supplied. I'm not asking them to design them, but just to produce a handful of good quality sheets of decals using artwork I provide. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
  14. "Linda" and the phrase "A BUNCH more" in the same post...coincidence? You be the judge. The mere mention of her name reminds me of my favorite past President...Calvin Cleavage. The show was great, and in spite of the threat of nasty weather rolling in Saturday afternoon, the outdor show was no slouch either! Thanks for posting the photos Lyle!
  15. VINCE! Where he heck have you been?! We're setting up the club display Thursday afternoon, and looking forward to another great show! Glad to hear you'll be able to make it!
  16. Boy...nothing like having some needleweenie sully something as pure as a post about hot dogs, chili, model cars...and soldiers serving overseas. Oh well...it's not worth getting worked up over.
  17. We had a very good turnout for the meeting even though it fell squarely on a holiday. Over 40 of us showed up to put away some hot dogs and chili, and to pose for a group photo for clubmate Rick Woleslagle who is currently watching the minutes tick away for the last 10 weeks of his tour in Iraq. More photos HERE.
  18. I'd like to say that's an outstanding model, but when you compare it to your usual outstanding work, I'm not sure what to call it...outstandinger maybe??
  19. An unscientific survey on my opart revealed mixed feelings. The inclusion of later models will have a potentially positive impact on the vendor side, and attendance by spectators and participants might be increased by expanding the years, but everybody seemed to think the jump to 1980 was too much. Sure, you might draw a lot of chevy tri-fives and other 50-s and 60's rides, but I personally don't want to see ANYTHING from the mid- to late seventies at a street rod show. They might not refer to them as street rods, but I still feel anything later than '48 is out of place. Of course I'm not running the show, and when anything gets this big, you have to approach it like a business...keep the vendors happy and increase attendance...but I dont' have to like it. Will that stop me frpm going next year? Uh...no.
  20. Lyle and I seem to take the same photos of the same things when we are at the same event...but I can guarantee this classic wasn't on his disc. He had quite a bit of hitch in his gidddyup this early in the day, but like everyone else, slowed down a little a few hundred photographs later. Heck, somebody's got to watch him... And here's a link to my photos, many of which should be eerily familiar to you after you've checked out Lyle's.
  21. I landed a Revell of Germany 1:8 Vette at a fair price. I'm still torn as to whether I should built it now or admire the sealed box until after I retire. In any case, are there wheels, tires, hoods, interior or engine goodies out there? This is new territory for me.
  22. Some would say I finally got my sit together...
  23. Ever get the Ferrari tire thing dialed in?
  24. This was my first big sit...and I plan to sit again!! I enjoyed spending the afternoon with all the rest of the sit heads, and want to thank Mainline Hobbies for letting there store be filled with all kinds of sit. Uncle Bobby, you turned me on to some good sit. I'm hooked!
  25. I can tell you with complete confidence that, as nice as the photos are, the pictures do NOT do this model justice. It is absolutely gorgeous in person! (As opposed to only mostly gorgeous in photos) (And Chris, thanks for the p-e parts... got them last week but have been running like a maniac and didn't get to thank you!)
