  14. awright..time for me to chime in..when i did the master for the stang about 10 yrs ago, the tops of the 1/4s were nice and straight. but after being ran through the molding process 6 times, after each time needing repair, the tops have been kinda sanded a bit too much. after each repair i didnt recheck the lines. i know i shoulda, but i didnt.thats what i get for rushing things. its now being remastered for its seventh trip through the rtv and all will right once again. stay tuned, stuff is happening..
  15. ah..the "its rare so it gots to be expensive" meme.. i was at an estate sale not long ago, they had a 64 tbird promo that was heavily played with. i picked it up, saw no price tag, then put it down. the guy running the sale said "those go for 200 bucks on ebay, but i'll give it to you for 45.00" i said no thank you and started to leave. he then asks, rather snottily.."so what do YOu think it worth?" i said, "guys who collect these want them in perfect shape, this is barely a parts car. i'll give ya 5 bucks.."..he wasnt pleased. needless to say, there was no sale...
  16. both missing link resin and motor city resin casters would like to thank everybody who came by the table(and bigger cudos to those who purchased!). it was a really good show and we had a great time. there was a ton of vintage plastic at reasonable prices, just wish we had time to see the demos and more of the contest.see ya'll next year!( we'll see alot of youse at nnl east)
  17. that nova is a neighbor..and man is it loud!@
  18. here at motor city resin casters, we dont use any release agent. we just dust the molds with baby powder. that helps wick resin into the small spaces, and helps with "mold sweat"., even so, we still recomend at the minimum washing with a good dish soap to remove any surface comtaminents.
  19. always remember, a coat of paint will bury some detail. its best to cast bare plastic if possible.having said that, about 95% of my masters have primer on em. mostly due to all the body work thats been done to em.
  20. alumilites a good starter product. they have a good website that has alot of info. there is a few youtube vids on the casting process too
  21. hang loose...missing link is doing a maverick grabber
  22. why? why not!
  23. the rebel is a great starter bike. but whats the story with the dune buggy???
