  1. scale modeling by chris has a cnc engraver..they can cut all kinds of neat stuff. they mostly use it to cut thier garage kits. i never saw the invoice, but i know it wasnt "affordable" by any stretch...
  2. well, im not one to climb up on a soapbox..however, as im now dealing with my moms failing heatlh, i feel the need.. she started smoking around 10. she smoked up till she had a major stroke about 2 yrs ago. she was 68 at that time and the docs tied the stroke to her smoking. but for the last 15 yrs she suffered from all the problems assciociated with smoking, including a fun little disease called renards syndrome which causes your finger and toe nails to rot and fall off. and as an aside, i have asthma and am elergic to cigerette smoke which made it fun growin up in a house filled with a blue haze...
  3. the more quality casters we have the better. it helps the customer to feel more confident when buying resin, which is good for all us casters

  5. for most of my kits, i recomend fabbing glass from clear acetate. for a few kits i do that have funky curves i do vacuuform glass, but its not my fav method.
  6. it wouldnt be that hard to wack the top off. finding an up top might be a challenge
  7. the meetings are held the third friday of the month at the dearborn ice rink on ford road east of southfield rd. they start around 6'30ish. dues are 20 bucks a yr. theres quite a few of us and every meeting is very well attended.

  9. finanlly got this done. i took a craftsman kit and opened er up. it has full engine bay and chassis. just add the amt 71 duster, a small tube 'o glue..shake well.. and vilola!(?)
  10. well, there time, expense, and many other factors that keep some from updating. many casters do this part time and have other responsabilites that may not allow them to spend alot of time updating websites. i got lucky, i have a buddy who does my site for free. there are some casters that dont even have websites. if your only benchmark of casters is their websites, your gonna miss out on some neat stuff.

  24. my very first car was a 64 impala i got when i was 14. never did anything with it, sold it before i turned 16. my first driver car was a 69 riviera gs. what a car..id still have it, but the battery tray rusted and the battery fell over and started a fire. if i ever get a chance i'll get another.i have a pic somewhere, i'll find it and puy it up soon as i find it
