  1. Correct engine, yes, but the scaled size is wrong. This scale engine in the new tool Ala Kart is waaaay small. Use the one from the AMT '29 A kit.
  2. I like your Heavenly Hearse framed boxart on the wall. I may have to steal that idea. Great room!
  3. Thanks guys!
  4. Mustang and Tuner are two words that don't belong together you say? Well, then put the stereotypes out of your mind and just check out the pics. It's revells excellent '06 Mustang. It was a joy to put together. I deleted the rear seat and added the NOS bottles from the AMT TFATF Supra. I also stole the seats and supercharger from the Polar Lights GT 40. I molded the rear spoiler into the body and deleted the rear windows. Added the grille from the AMT '67 Mustang and extra foglights to the front spoiler. Wheels and tires are from the Revell '99 Ford Lightning kit. Colors are Tamiya light gunmetal and silver leaf. Thanks for looking! More pics in here: http://public.fotki.com/crstan/finished_mo...stang-gt-tuner/
  5. Thanks for taking the time to post a response too.
  6. Nice work! Love your direction!
  7. This is based on the Revell '65 Chevelle Z-16 kit (soon to be re-released, finally). The body has been left alone except for the use of the custom front and rear pan from the AMT '65 chevelle wagon, open grille surround from Rep and Min of Md(mastered by lyle Willits), grille from the AMT '57 Chevy, scratchbuilt rear fascia, and trim added to the roof to seperate the top color. Colors are Testors Royal Blue Pearl laquer and Tamiya Pearl Light Blue. The engine is from the Trumpeter '63 Nova kit (beautiful engine, even though the bottom pulley hangs out in the middel of nowhere) It is very well detailed, and goes together in a snap). I added an aircleaner made from a '55 Chevy aircleaner with a parts box velocity stack added to it. The chassis is all modified from box stock to lower it, and I altered the exhaust to a single from a dual. Wheels and lakes pipes are from the revell '59 Impala custom, and tires are from the AMT '62 Catalina custom. The interior is all from the kit except for a parts box steering wheel, pinhead shift lever, and MSC gauge faces. It was a total blast to build, and came together pretty quick. Lately I have developed a deep admiration for the early to mid 60's GM body styles, so you'll be seeing more of these from me. thanks for looking, and follow the link to more pics. http://public.fotki.com/crstan/finished_mo...-malibu-kustom/
  8. Looking good man!
  9. Like I said, it was just a quickee review, I didn't look that in depth. Thanks for taking the time to look deeper!
  10. The faces were made by MSC Model Products. Not sure if they are still in business. I cut them out and placed them in the opening, and the dropped a couple drop of Micro Krystal Klear on them.
  11. Rrrrrr... :x as if I didn't have too much stuff I needed to order from him already now I've got more! Thanks for the pics Lyle!
  12. Honestly, not much different here from the previous two kits. New wheels and belt cover are the most obvious parts. Otherwise, an a quick look the only other different thing not available in the other kits is the decals. I was hoping for some new/different parts, bu they are still awesome kits. If you haven't bought one, do yourself a favor and get one from Tom! BTW, the box art for the Bone Dady shows the wire wheels, so I'm not sure what the second style is.
  13. Well, final assembly is moving along. Here's the finished engine, interior and almost finished frame. Interior and frame are all modified from kit parts, except the parts box steering wheel. I had a flash of "brilliance" and decided to add the grille from the '57 Chevy to dress up the front end a bit . I'm really psyched with how it turned out. As always comments and questions are welcome, and thanks for looking! http://public.fotki.com/crstan/noslow-moti...ects/page3.html
  14. Here's the finished engine for the Revell '65 z-16 chevelle based Kustom I'm working on. It's the straight 6 from the Trumpeter '63 Nova sedan. Very nicely detailed (even though the bottom pulley doesn't locate anywhere). I added some spark plug wires and that's it. The rest of the parts are all painted, so I'm slowly working on the assembly. i should have it done within a couple weeks. As always, comments and questions are welcome, and thanks for looking. http://public.fotki.com/crstan/noslow-moti...ects/page2.html
  15. Well Gregg, how about it? If you decide to do it here's a couple more name ideas 1) Off the Bench 2) On the Shelf 3) Display Ready 4) For Your Viewing Pleasure 5) Hey! Look at Me! I'm sure you guys can come up with some cooler names. Just throwing some ideas out there
  16. Any details on the 1/8 '32 Ford? Maybe we'll be getting a 3 or 5 window that's been rumored for a few years now?????   I too was hoping to see a 51 merc, but am still very happy to have a moden tooling of a chopped merc. If it was stock I'd be hoping for a spiced up flattie, but since it's chopped I hope we get a caddy or olds mill, there are plenty of great flatheads already available.
  17. Is that the trailer body from the Monogram '37 ford? Great idea!
  18. The '96 had the wire-like wheels, maybe they changed them for the reissue, but I doubt it.
  19. I've really grown to love the board since I joined up. I especially love the On the Bench area, I really enjoy seeing WIP and how you guys do all your amazing modeling things. This is just a suggestion. Would anyone else like to see a seperate area to post our completed models? Stuff gets kind of lost i think because it's posted mixed together with all the in-progress stuff. I'm not even sure if this is feesible, since it would require an alteration to the board itself. Anyone else think this is a good idea. It's just an suggestion. Thanks for the great board!
  20. You don't have to buy a diecats to get a springer, there is a nice one in the recently reissued AMT Shaker Trike. however, unless you find one cheap you may be better off with the diecast. Replicas and Miniatures of Md just announced some stuff for these choppers at Toledo, but I'd love to see some other stuff too, more vintage style stuff. For the springer front end here's a 3 part idea 1) Cast the whole thing 2) Cast just the brackets, and leave the aluminum or platic downtubes up to the builder, letting them set their own ride height 3) Cast the brackets and include the aluminum as a set
  21. Great technique. I've heard people talk about it before, but now I know how to do it. I look forward to trying it! Thanks for the tutorial.
  22. I'll try to get better pics of the grille for you next time. It's mastered by Lyle, and is super nice. It's designed to work with the MCG photoetch grille, but I'm not going that route.
  23. I think the shadow may be making them look fatter than they are. They are from the AMt '62 Catalina Custom froma few years ago. I grab those kits cheap whenever I see them, great parts kit. Button tuft interior, white walls, sweet chromed steel wheels, sidepipes, clear steering wheel, beuatiful detailed engine, the list goes on.
