  1. Email me Chris. I have some detail parts such as a Rennaisance door and detail kit, and a Scale Motorsport detail set. About 4 years ago I was really gung-ho on building an all out detailed 206, but alas, it has not come. it's one of those projects I will never have time for, so email me if you're interested in the stuff
  2. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess i had my facts mixed up. Sorry for any confusion I created. Now I'm really excited! 6 bikes!
  3. Can you give us details on the tail-lights? I know Rep+Min sells some, haven't gotten around to ordering them yet.
  4. Yes, but they were announced as the Fall releases, that's why I think they may have changed the names. It's not important, I'm just glad to have them because they are so much fun.
  5. I think they may have changed the names to Gambler and Fireball to be released in October,or maybe they are the additional 2 Greg was refering to. According to Gregg, there will be a total or 6 kits(Crusader, aces wild, "fireball, "gambler" and 2 more? I'm getting confused and excited at the same time. Can't wait for the official announcement from "RCHTA" in a couple weeks.
  6. Beautiful Job!
  7. FOUR coming? I thought only two more, the Gambler and the Fireball. Do you have inside info?
  8. Awesome job Lyle. I am also putting an open belt drive and a "sprung" seat on one of my bikes. The "air cleaner" I beleive is a wheel cover from the AMT Avanti kit. Beautiful build! Hope to finish mine within a week.
  9. I finally got around to buying a Crusader after having so much fun with my Aces Wild, and couldn't force myself to wait to start it, so here it is Created a new fork location tube to rake out the kit frontend. Modified the fender into a shorty and cut the tank so it sits lower. Here it is next to my Aces Wild based bike, now called Xile. Here's some progress on Xile. The frame and downtubes will be painted black, with the tins staying silver. Also, this is the first mockup with the kit wire wheels. And lastly here is the finished paintjob on XM-2006. Just need to button up some overspray and put it all together. As always, comments and questions welcome. Follow the link for more http://public.fotki.com/crstan/noslow-moti...ects/page3.html
  10. A similar color is available in the Testors laquer line. It's not quite as yellow, but it's close
  11. I agree, these kits are awesome. From the look of it the next two will have even more diffeten cool parts to kitbash. Should be out next month. I see myself building quite a few of these this winter. Hope to have my first finished late next week.
  12. The bikes do ride a bit high. I shortened my front forks, so it rides a little lower. I want my next one much lower, but it seems like it will be quite a bit of work on the frame to lower that rear end, at least on the Aces frame(hard tail, blue on box). I was just looking to do something different with that flintstone body, so that's why it's a three window. I've seen quite a few cool builds of this body, here's a couple Built by Jeremy Schirm Not sure who built this one
  13. It's a Jimmy Flintstone "kit" It's a body, front axle, wheels/tires(cast together), belly pan, and one side pipe. It's one of his older peices, so the body casting is heavy, not like his newer stuff. I threw a different set of wheels at it, replaced the front suspension, added another side pipe to make it a matched set, and smoothed the body. It's just supposed to be a quicky, which it is actually turning out to be. Hope to have it finished by next weekend.
  14. Well, I finally scored one of the Revell choppers last weekend. I told myself not to start it yet, as I had too many projects going on. But I decided to open the box and check it out. Well, it just started falling together , and now I can't stop. This kit is great. I've made afew subtle changes. See if you can notice them. (I know the pic is a white bike with a white background, but you get the idea.) Think "exile" style on this bike, if you know what I mean. The wheels are just for mock-up purposes. Haven't decided to use the wires or fab my own rear wheel. Now here's some paint booth progress on my Barris xm-120 tribute. Hope to have the rest of the orange nailed down by tonight. And here's the final mock-up before paint. As always, comments and questions are welcome, and feel free to check out these albums for more pics. http://public.fotki.com/crstan/noslow-moti...ects/page3.html
  15. Have a body that I polished out with novus and then applied the treatment. Wasn't happy with the bodywork so I redid it, but the areas I didn't rework still have the polish and wax on it. How can I strip this. Stripping the paint off is ok too, but I don't want to disturb the bodywork. paint is tamiya spray and bodywork done with evercoat "metal glaze". Maybe 91 % alcohol? TIA
  16. I read somewhere when someone once suggested using a battery powered pencil eraser(the kind used by draftsmen and artists). They have a low RPM, so put some sandpaper on the end and give it a try. I've been wanting to try it myself.
  17. I'll keep it brief. This is a mostly box-stock build-up of the Monogram "Fire Iron" showrod, with the engine from the AMT '53 stude and some '32 Ford parts thrown in the mix. It was a two week build. Thanks for looking. http://public.fotki.com/crstan/finished_mo..._tribute_deuce/ Never forget
  18. It's a resin reproduction of the go kart originally included as parts in variuous early 60's AMT kits, and then as a complete kit with (I beleive) the '63 Ford F-100. Originally, each kit in the product line included a couple parts, making you buy all of them to complete the go kart. Pretty ingenius marketing ploy, huh? My exact info is a little fuzzy, if I'm off I'm sure someone can give more accurate info. The resin repop is by Rep+Min of Md.
  19. Here is what I've got on the bench. First up is a Jimmy Flintstone '34 Ford. It'll be painted up like the Dobbie Gilles Barris LSR car And here's a couple custom pickups I've started. Thanks for looking, lots of more projects and more pics at the link... http://public.fotki.com/crstan/noslow-moti...ects/page3.html
  20. Re: I love the terror laquer paints Wow, that's one crazy typo
  21. I haven't had any problems with them. When painting bodies I mist on one or two light coats, and then lay on the color, followed about 10-15 minutes later with testors or Tamiya clear. When painting parts I just lay on the color, no problems.
  22. Very nice. You never disappoint Lyle. I can't wait fot the next two kits either!
  23. I've seen a few built up at shows, but I can't comment on the difficulty of the buildup. I've got it in my head to build up that one box stock someday, trying to challenge myself with some of those fiddlet, high parts count, old Revell kits. I've got a Ivo 4 engine dragster started, and I want to do the Orange Crate and the Roth kits. Someday :?
  24. Looks great Randy! It's really coming along. Now, if you could just get that frame finished... (snicker, snicker) Seriously, killer project BTW, if the market across the street has Rod and Kulture mag do you want a copy?
  25. For a springer use the forks from the AMT Shaker Trike, reissued earlier this year. I've seen a couple guys do this conversion already and it looks great!
